  1. Yes for some people it's in-game loot rewards. But for others maybe titles make the game rewarding, maybe it's the satisfaction of 100% map completion, maybe it's winning a PvP match or just having enough fun mechanics to play with your friends. I intentionally left it opened ended so people could more freely express their thoughts. Read this. Just to make everything clear, there is no correct answer to this question people. It's your own personal opinion and if your opinion differs from what counts as rewarding than my own, that's fine :)

  3. I feel this could be fixed if the world bosses started dropping account bound ascended gear. If this happened at a higher rate, world bosses would definitely be worth doing. What do you think?
  4. Wow, I totally agree with this. I can already see myself looking at someone and saying to myself, "Wow he got the fallen Balthazar outfit, he must have defeated him without Sohothin! What a feat!" But now when I look at someone, all I can think is "He paid $10 for that." It really takes away from that air of wonder in a game.
  5. I love your positive attitude <3 Thanks for sharing, honestly, I need to share the same outlook as you instead of being so pessimistic.
  6. Congratulations! You killed the dragon! Here are you trash bags. Haha! So true. What if Anet would have done like, 1 ascended trinket for the first TWO times you complete your personal story. A trinket that says like, "Eye of Zhaitan" and you could pick any stat combo for it. Imagine how much better this game would be, how rewarding that would feel. I feel like it wouldn't be broken either since you could only receive a max of two per account. But that's just wishful thinking :'(
  7. Thoughts on the issue? If so why? I also encourage everyone to read this reddit post, as big names such as Dulfy give their thoughts on some of the glaring issues facing GW2:https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/7bonqt/jim_sterling_about_gw2_lootboxes/ Additional Question: Is the gemstore ruining our sense of reward?
  8. THIS POST RIGHT HERE. If you lack the forsight and understanding to see why this type of behavior is unacceptable and disastrous not just for Guild Wars 2 but for the gaming industry as a whole, YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. If you do not understand why this behavior encourages lazy game design, YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. If you are ok with getting less and support companies taking advantage of their player base because by some twisted logic you think this is the only way for them to make a living!!! YOU. Yes YOU. Are part if the problem. P.S - Thank you Boingo for telling it like it is
  9. If this is because of higher ups, then all this negative feedback will be good for them. I'm sure there where people against lootboxes in the company, and now that they've been proven right, and whoever voted for lootboxes proven wrong (by our incredibly strong response) they can start making changes to revert this course of action.
  10. So much respect for this comment. It's funny because I was just thinking about WoodenPotatoes and his competition, and how much harder it would be for him and the fanbase to get the word out. But I hope they do rectify this. So much love has gone into this game, and perhaps the developers now have to suffer because of things like marketing, or whoever is in charge of this stuff. It's really sad.
  11. At what point did people start forgetting this is an MMORPG? Emphasis on RPG. If you want to create an immersive setting, a roleplay setting if you will, where you play as the mighty warrior, the wise and powerful elementalist, the stealthy thief, cosmetic options are key to that. Your armor, your mount, what sword you wield or magic you use is paramount to that experience. We've all had the experience when we beat the boss and said holy kitten, look at this kitten new sword that I got, that's what makes a game exciting, the sense of reward, and now that's being taken away because if I want a cool mount I can just pay $25 for it. Guild Wars 2 has always tried to stick with the notion of "play your way". I'm the kitten commander and slayer of two dragons in my personal story, so why the hell would I have the same kitten mount as every other common person in the game. My mount should be unique and special to ME, and now because I can't afford to buy $40 worth of mount skins you're telling me I just have to live with it? Well, screw you. Yes, I'll make a fit, yes this affects my gameplay experience and the experience of the player base as a whole, no I will not sit down and just take it. I'm actually quite aware of this point. As I said in my post I'm quite fond of cosmetics myself in this game, and at this current moment I have 40 characters each with their own unique looks and back stories and more I'm planning in the works once I can save up for some more character slots. I've sent more money on this game than I can keep track of and even went far enough to buy I think it was 97 bl keys to get the dang zaishen helm skin to use on just one of my characters because it looked cool and it fit and gosh darn it I wanted it. All my characters have their own little back stories that I enjoy and personalities I keep in mind when I play them, and I'm fairly attached to them all. I'm well aware of the part it plays and as I said in my second post, I'm not overly fond of the system Anet decided on for their acquisition. However, no matter how much I agree with you or think it would be better your way, "pitching a fit" and whining about it makes me loathe to agree with you and support your argument. It's like if I saw a protests on the street and I maybe agreed with their cause, but the main guy leading the protest is stomping around, getting in people's faces and yelling, and acting like some angry man child. I'm not gonna go pair up with that. If I see a similar petition down the road though, and people can actually control themselves and keep level headed, then there's no reason for me not to voice my agreement with them. That's my personal take on it, make of it what you will. (Also just noticed this thread got merged into oblivion lol)Haha yeah, super merged. Anyways, when I say I will "make a fit" that's not to be taken literally. All I meant was that if you're passionate enough about something, maybe we can see some actual change. This merged thread is evidence of that, and a step in the right direction.
  12. Perhaps a free mount skin is in order as a sign of good faith? I love this company and I love this game, but it seems many of the fans have been personally offended by this. Please be patient with us, as we are living during a time where loot boxes and microtransactions are rampant, and many gamers feel that mechanisms which rely on chance are meant to exploit them. This is just a suggestion of course, I trust that Anet will know what to do =)
  13. It has changed. Many of the items in said loot boxes could be bought and sold on the trading post. Players still had the option to pick and choose the items they wanted. But not with mounts, maybe I'll spend 80 gold to get 400 gems and get the exact mount that I wanted first try! Maybe I won't get it until the 31st try, and end up spending 800 gold.
