  1. Since the patch on Tuesday, November 9th, whenever I disconnect, I cannot reconnect. I log back in, hit play, and then nothing happens. There is some sort of flash on my screen and then my whole computer becomes unresponsive except to CTRL+ALT+DEL and hitting sign out or shut down. Since I have hourly disconnects, thanks to my awful I.S.P., this makes the game unplayable.
  2. Catalyst needs a complete rework. Ele is THE class with the least survivability. Catalyst doesn't improve that. Ele is still one of the only classes without reasonable access to boons and conditions. Catalyst doesn't meaningfully improve that. Catalyst can't meaningfully generate auras so a bunch of their traits are useless 99% of the time to 99% of players because the auras it so desperately wants are locked behind opaque gameplay mechanics (fields). Finally, Catalyst is not good nor useful in wvw/pvp situations. Honestly, it feels like Catalyst wants to reward slow tempo like gameplay but the vast majority of other classes don't play into that type of gameplay whatsoever. For that slow tempo like gameplay you need both survivability, which we already know Ele lacks (and how downstate rotation became a meme: because there's truth to it), and payoff (being big damage numbers or lots of boon or condition stacks). Catalyst offers none of that. The one redeeming thing is it feels like it tries to make something other than Fire important. Water, Air, and Earth attunements should not simply be conduits by which to play Fire better.
  3. I did; it was there. I figured it out: Deleting the icon from my desktop somehow deleted the executable file too so when I put a new icon on my desktop it started the launcher which then thought it needed to redownload the game since the .exe file was missing. Thank you for your help.
  4. I am running Windows 10. A few weeks ago, for some reason my GW2 desktop icon became a blank piece of paper rather than the GW2 logo. A few days ago I finally got around to trying to fix it. I deleted the icon and went to the folder with GW2 and hit create desktop shortcut on the .exe file. When I went to start GW2 it decided it needed to redownload the whole game. Ok, that's stupid but whatever. Redownload the whole game I guess. Play for hours, 0 problems. The issue is, today I log in and it says it needs to redownload the whole game AGAIN. No idea what to do or why this is happening. https://imgur.com/EQQqPTc
  5. Thank you, everyone, for the help. Especially you, Ashantara.8731. You're right that this is not a GW2 problem. I tried most if not all the fixes you mentioned and nothing has helped but I did realize this is an issue with the graphics card, likely a hardware issue. I have submitted a request for help to the manufacturer. Thanks again, everyone, for your help.
  6. This started happening yesterday out of the blue. Nothing changed on my end as far as I can tell. What happens is I load the game, get to character select screen. Everything is fine. Select a character (doesn't matter which) and load into the game. A few seconds after loading into a map, the game totally freezes, I can't move my mouse cursor. Then maybe 10 to 25 seconds afterward, the screen goes black and the computer is completely non-responsive. No mouse cursor, no response to control-alt-delete, nothing. So far, I have disabled Onedrive and ensured all my sound, hardware and graphics drivers are up to date. Changed battery settings. Running other games, like Civ6 at full graphics, haven't caused any issues. I have also tried the repair feature (adding -repair to the target line). I have a CyberPower PC laptop.
