Okay but that burst is short lived. Normally a ranger has to be fully set up to that sort of damage and use all there utility slots for more damage. If you avoid that damage in anyway the ranger is a paper tiger. I know since I counterplay power rangers with my condition dagger ranger in sPvP and WvW. -
Been testing Virtuoso all day and it is amazing it can definitely compete with my chrono and has more range potential. The set up is very small but it doesn't have as much burst as chrono (if clones stay alive).

I believe Arena Net is on to something with each class's elite specialisation providing a unique boon to either 5 or 10 man group I will say if possible they 10 man boons should provide something extra in 5 man content. With the boon meta in mind, you would truly have a sort of trinity with dps, boons, heals being required for high level content.

My other thread is just all laughing emotes on my posts and love hearts on anyone who hates Virtouso. I really do like the Virtuoso and the changes they made, I want an aoe focused Mesmer that does not have to spawn clones which is very slow in open world like with Chrono. This forum is complete garbage, the reddit is so much nicer.

I guess no one can be excited for the Virtuoso. I only came back to the game to try and I do remember it being very strong on large bosses without much effort. This forum is complete garbage, the reddit is so much nicer.

Then why is mirage still very popular in sPVP, especially staff.

Dude exactly my point, people who don't play high gold or plat (where i normally am) wont understand how op mirage was and still is.

Invulnerability's are on long cooldowns and in stealth you can still be attacked or stunned. I take no pleasure in agreeing with the one dodge except for when i play against that same mirage. The burst is crazy, its just not for me in pvp. I only ever played the old mirage with 2 dodges since i could face roll damage.

You can still do all that and at regular intervals if you want, you just cant dodge twice in a row to survive.

No there is a difference since large targets has more points that a aoe spell can trigger damage. Small can preform the same dps but not vice versa.

When i do pvp with the Mirage i only ever used the dodge to avoid damage it was wasted on trying to obtain more dps. 2 condition cleanse is about the only other use but that is avoiding damage again. The main reason i don't pvp with the Mesmer is it like the theif, you cant hold points, soak damage or really anything needed for conquest.

They are just tweaking it, I mean it was way to high before. 40k on large targets was a bit op.

I am Mesmer main, (not pvp) but i will say mirage is still very strong in pvp due to the burst. The extra dodge let you escape so much damage while still attacking so that is why it was broken. If it was to be returned then you would have to remove any attack animations during the dodge(like every other dodge) which would make it worse.

Wow so i have to hate virtuoso, if i am Mesmer main. Well i would be rather annoyed if i got another clone based elite spec like the last two since it would add nothing.. One of the main problems with Mesmer is you cant pre-cast damage(phantasms) before a fight, which for open-world means your damage can be very slow unless you spam just clones and waste cooldowns.

Especially the clunky skills and the non-regening blades. It's has a been a since beta 1 but I just remembered the utilities being so hard to use. I also love the lack of clones it mean I can bring my mesmer out on high damage bosses that kill my clones.
