  1. I feel OP, but I think mobs should stay the way they are. When I first got to HoT maps, VB to be exact, i wanted to quit. I leveled to 80, bought full exotic gear and decent exotic weapons and accessories, only to be murdered by VB mobs in 3 -5 hits. Didn't really matter if I used berserker or knight, i got murdered by everything. Everywhere I went, these things are there, compounded by the maze-like map. CC, bleeds/poison, and those stupid snipers. Mobs in this game are insane, I hated it initially but this also forced me to sit down and study my build, my rotation and change my general approach to mobs. I stopped charging in and started planning, and avoided as many as possible by finding shortcuts or following other players. OH and I had no mounts til near the end of the HoT story. I honestly think this is better and more realistic. You are playing a flesh and blood character just like the mobs in front of you, and half of the time they are bigger and physically stronger. So it makes logical sense for them to be able to kill you in a few hits. Don't want to die? Avoid them, be smart with your skills, or ask for more bodies to help you. This isn't a fantasy game that your character is basically a god. I understand some people aren't accustomed to this, but this is actually what makes gw2 special.
  2. Hello! I'm still pretty new to the game (2 weeks since I bought expansions) and I'm hooked to the PVE content! I would love to be in a guild that does and organizes PvE activities like fractals or map metas. It's been pretty difficult/impossible to solely rely on LFG. The previous guilds I joined aren't very active in the PvE aspects and at times were pretty dead. From the looks of it, your guild seems really active and helpful!I will message you when I get home from work for an invite :)
  3. Thank you all for the responses! So far I'm loving the game, literally learning so much content every day and still there's just so much more.
  4. Thank you for the fast reply. Should I go back and do Season 2? I hear it's easy mastery points for Central Tyria. I'm not into PvP but I'll look into WvW dailies.
  5. I'm pretty new to the game, bought the expansions last week and manually leveled my first char to level 80. Skipped Living World Season 2, finished HoT story and I've just started Season 3. I'm doing daily fractals, joining on map METAs whenever someone makes a group on LFG, and joining in on as many world events as I come across with. At the same time I'm slowly progressing through Season 3. Oh and I'm crafting time gated mats for my gear and weapons every day. Am I doing this right? I feel like there's so much to do and I don't know what I really should be doing first. There is just so much "stuff" and sometimes I feel like I'm drowning in it. The game doesn't really tell you if you are on the right track of progression so I'm just doing everything. I want to know what I should be focusing on first. Should I just bulldoze through Season 3, POF and the rest? Or should I take it slow and farm mats for ascended trinkets? Should I be doing more fractals than just daily ones? Should I focus on leveling masteries? I'm a person who likes lists. I like plans. This game gives none and I'm a bit frustrated.Appreciate the help.
  6. I bought the expansions literally a week ago so I'm in a similar situation. The only difference is that I manually leveled to 80. Unfortunately the LFG is quite dead for certain aspects of the game but for an 8 year old game it's pretty normal. I advise you to join an active guild and ask for help when you feel stuck. When the game releases on Steam in Nov, hopefully the game will have an influx of players to make LFG viable again. Also make sure to check out metabattle or snowcrow for builds. For the gear & money aspect, I just bought some gems and sold them for gold to gear myself. I know I can farm them but with a full time job, I'd rather use the hours to play the content I enjoy and not grind my butt off. I'm pretty much struggling to progress through HoT myself, mobs hit hard and there aren't many people doing events :/ edit: Thankfully I did listen to other people about not boosting to level 80 for your first char. You learn the game a lot better that way it definitely helps me in terms of survivability. I learned that GW2 mobs aren't like most other MMOs where you can easily facetank them and be okay (lower levels are fine, but definitely not expansion mobs). You actually need to plan ahead and actively dodge to mitigate damage. There is no potion and there is one healing skill, aaand thats it lol.
