  1. Why does this keep repeatedly boiling down to a guy randomly insulting the average playerbase and that somehow being the basis of Elementalist nerfs? I've seen when other games try to appeal to casual players that aren't skilled and it doesn't typically result in the hardest classes having completely lackluster reward for putting time into them. Usually the most difficult classes are deemed such because they have the most things to juggle, which often includes utility that you have to have the sense when to properly use to maximize that. For Weaver the biggest problem arises from their surviva
  2. The Engineer change looks like it's aimed entirely at PvP modes without considering implications it could have elsewhere, and it also doesn't even consider the actual ramifications it would have even in those modes. I say it's likely PvP-aimed because I can't recall any time I've heard in PVE, in any context, "kitten, that heal scrapper is OP! They really shouldn't have access to both Medkit AND Elixir Gun freely." Except this skirts around the context of WHY they're so prevalent in those modes, WvW most especially. Heal Scrapper is a response to a very prevalent set of problems that they happ
  3. It's kinda funny, because the only time I think stealth is really a problem is when there's some Chrono or Thief hiding out (near) permanently in stealth in a keep to threaten a portal in WvW, but in that one circumstance it just feels absolutely miserable rooting them out, and depending on how evasive they are it can actively lose you participation for doing the right thing. That's basically the one situation where I think Stealth is particularly problematic.
  4. My experience with celestial is that it allows you to be very versatile in your traits, which lets you approach content in a more free-form manner. Cele FB doesn't do the raw damage of Viper's, but you can still get respectable numbers with it while being significantly more durable. Cele Scourge is.. pretty whatever, honestly. Trailblazer Scourge is probably the better option all things considered if you're just looking for a durable Scourge build. Cele Reaper just feels like a worse version of either condi or power reaper variants. Cele SB is actually not bad as far as Cele builds go, since i
  5. Something tells me this isn't THAT critical of a thing to disable downstate just for this. Most ranger players don't even know this is a thing they can do, and of the ones that do I get the distinct feeling this isn't as useful as it sounds because to get the chain CC effect people mention would require them to take 2 different pets, both with CC F2s... which most builds don't utilize, whether condi or power because there's usually better options for a merge. Power SBs might merge with a Rock Gazelle which has a CC F2, but their secondary in PvP is usually something that can forage (which is t
  6. It would be neat to get a mercenary or hero to follow you around for squishier builds to take on tougher content, but I don't think that's a hard requirement. Alliances would just be great, and is frankly long overdue. It's been put on the backburner long enough and even shoved under the rug. But as it is, guilds are forced to recruit for specifically their own server which is awkward since that distinction ONLY matters in WvW so you practically have to recruit there since server matters in literally zero other places. It's just awkward implementation currently and leads to people server-h
  7. You already have counterplay to Solace: any attack that hits in quick succession or spamming out attacks. Aegis only blocks one single solitary hit per application of the boon. The heal Solace puts out is a pittance which can only be ameliorated by taking specific defensive traits, mostly just the one in Honor for healing on Aegis. So if you use the natural counters to Aegis then Solace just doesn't do much to help you. Medic Gyro being instant was far more notable because it had an actual sizable heal on it that you'd get immediately and then some healing over time afterward. If a FB isn't ru
  8. That's partly because some builds ended up just being ludicrous in times past. 7 years is a lot of time to have missed when things had their opportunity to present how absurd they could be. A lot of those builds that were "swimming upstream" used traits from overperforming builds that were definitely swimming downstream so they got caught in the crossfire. There's basically nothing anybody can do to prevent that, even in games that are definitely better balanced. Also build variety gets pruned over time as stronger traits/builds get introduced naturally. If you PvP so much in games you should
  9. Not even the first time they've done something like this. In their previous game they have the infamous Smiter's Boon. Because they didn't want it used in PvP anymore (because it did admittedly lead to pretty kitten degenerate comps which shut out a lot of possible enemy compositions) they bumped it up to a 25 energy cost and a 90 second cooldown.
  10. They can change them back to charged IF they fix the visual bug where the ammo counter would display an inaccurate number. Seeing your Mantra of Potence or Solace at 2 stacks visually and then using it and it goes on cooldown because it was actually the last charge was just plain awful and that happened a non-negligible number of times between fractals, raids, and strikes. And that's on top of needing to charge it every time you died, /gg'd, or went underwater and one of those particular mantras was not part of your build (most notable example of this being knocked into the water in Siren's Re
  11. Your reward is the fact you get the other rewards from the fractal CM. I genuinely don't see how this is a problem worth noting. No amount of credit card swiping gets them the infusion, if a tangible reward to show off is all you care about.
  12. Yaa thanks for the correction. But I'm sure you get the point though. Twist of Fate is just an example. You're right about it's cooldown, but the cooldown was not really important to the point I was making. Yes CD is very important. If u havent noticed, there is no build with more than one long cd skill. If every skill gives negative effect on u, its the same as if no one skill gives negative. I know its fantasy game but there is no logic u should get penalty for using stunbreak or evading an attack. Penalty is for wasting long cd skill and dying cuz u cant use it. Fantasy game yet in real li
  13. It isn’t a form of healing. It's not, but it is a form of sustain to your health bar in a similar fashion that other classes don't get access to during overtime. When I played World of Warcraft, there were Discipline Priests who mitigated a lot of damage via shielding. The way I learned to think about it was shielding is healing that you bank in advance and cash it in as enemies hit you. It's disingenuous to pretend it isn't a form of sustain in the same vein as healing, if we're being honest. The actual biggest problem is, as people mentioned, that if you take away Scourge's barrier, then y

  15. It's essentially a prestige skin. You don't lose anything by not having it. People who really want it will make the skin, people who like it but not enough for the price won't. Nightfury is the exact same way and they both have been like this basically since release. Though closer to their release mystic coins were more readily available, which is basically the only part that's changed over time, but that's true of every item that used mystic coins to craft it, so these skins are not unique in that regard, either.
