  1. From the classes you mention. If you want decap and +1 then I would choose thief or mirage. If you want more teamfight and +1 then I would choose holo or chrono. But there is good teamfight/+1 builds for every class. Just need to find the one you like to play the most. Im a mesmer main (but play all classes) and I have fun builds for any role except support on mesmer.
  2. I am not getting the item either, even after multiple kills. I really hope a fix is coming soon. Getting really annoying.
  3. I love these new legendaries. I love that they are full sets so I can get the exact theme that I want on the exact weapon that I want. I love that they can be traded so I can get them by doing what I enjoy. The on kill effect is a cool new thing too. Finally after 9 years of playing I will get my first legendary weapon.
  4. Definetly dont let it get to your head if your team is raging in chat. Most of the time they are throwing and they try to find something else to blame other than themselfes. Your build is not very high impact so it is hard to carry in those situations. Your 1v1 mechanics seem good but your rotations are holding you back very hard. Focus on getting much better at that and it will get you far. You are playing good deathmatch but not very good conguest. In first vid I think you just rotated too slow. Like at 8 min mark you are 3v1 mid on your own node. You could have maybe helpped far or prevented home decap at that time. You were doing nothing for half a minute and just a few seconds can change a game. After that the match went downhill. In second vid at the start I think the 1v2 was bad. Just 1 of you should have been contesting it and maybe ping the DE to +1 it. DE is good vs scourge. You gave them mid for free. Then after the support guard arrived and made it in to a 2v2 on neutral point you should have left immidietly. Necro and support vs you and war is a bad matchup I think. You need to know what matchups are good and what are bad so you can leave them instantly instead of wasting time in something you know is lost anyways or you can make better rotational decisions. At 11:20 you go fullcap mid and leave it when ele comes. I think you should have defended it. It was a good matchup for you and it was your point and you just used a lot of time to cap it. Allso there was DE and warrior vs 2+support guard on buff. They should have been able to hold lower buff until your respawn went back to help because the support wont have damage and DE is really good at holding the buff. In third vid I think your allys were just dieing a lot and giving decaps.
  5. Boyce has been playing power DH and hes in high plat consistently. Hes not the only one I know in high plat with that build. I allso tried it and damn it has absolutely crazy damage and decent survivability.
  6. Thanks! :D Glad I could help.I do like to make guides and tutorials. Thats why I add some small tips in some of my videos. Full tutorial videos are very difficult and time consuming to make because I like to make them very in depth. If this build does not get changed and I have a lot of free time at some point I might make a guide but not right now.Good luck with your mesmering. Feel free to ask me for tips in game too if you feel like it. :)
  7. Staff is a bit tricky weapon. It seems bad on paper but when you know everything you can do with it its really really good.Chaos armor is not the best skill on staff because as a mesmer you are so squishy that you dont really want to be hit at all. Chaos armor only does stuff if you get hit. It is still useful in situations where you cant avoid every attack.Phase retreat and chaos storm are both very good defensively and offensively and they really make the weapon great. It is very hard for opponents to pressure you or your allies inside your chaos storm. It also has a short cast time daze so you can use it offensively to interrupt key skills like heals, elites, revives or stomps.Phase retreat is probably the best weapon skill mesmer has. You can use it for mobility, kiteing, teleporting on ledges or through places where even some targetable teleport skills cant teleport, avoiding attacks while being stunned, do instant shatter combos, safestomp, use it as a gap closer, teleport forward to melee range to interrupt heals with shatter 3, use it on friendly combo fields for stealth or other effects. All this and more on a short cooldown.Staff is the best weapon to use for landing big shatters on this build. On high level people dodge all your abilities that have long cast times. Thats why Greatsword mesmer is not very good If you cant hide the animation of mirror blade in stealth. It will never land because it is so easy to evade. On staff you can get instant 3 clone shatters that cant be evaded by reacting to some skill animation. If you press shatter and phase retreat at the same time while in close range to your target you apply the shatter effect from your body and from the clone that was summoned with phase retreat. You can dodge towards your opponent a millisecond before pressing phase retreat and shatter to summon another clone from your deceptive evasion trait so now you have 2 clones and your own body to apply the 3 shatters right on top of the opponent. You see me do this all the time. It is one of the most important things to know about staff I think. You can see some of those tricks at the start of this video: I have tried those weapons too but I think they were not as good and I really dont want to replace staff with anything. You might see now why. :D I always felt that I dont need any more survivability on this build but I want as much damage as I can possibly get. Main hand sword does not have much damage and the damage it does is purely power. It is good at kiteing, landing shatters, and surviving. I have my staff to do all those better already.Torch is a really good option too but I personally like pistol more. If you want torch I feel like you need to change shatter storm trait for the pledge trait and without pistol you dont have any good trait options to replace the trait duelists discipline and I really love both of those traits. The interrupt is a million times faster and more reliable on pistol compared to torch phantasm. The damage is similar on both weapons. The stealth is really good on torch but I dont really need it and I get decapped easier in duels if I use stealth.Offhand sword is allso purely power damage, the phantasm is not super reliable and on high level people know how to not hit your sword block. It is not an awful choice but pistol is much better in my opinion. Sorry for lots of answers... xPI hope I could help and that I did not make too many typos and stuff. I am not a native english speaker. (Edit: Those other weapons might work well in lower tiers or maybe just dueling. Stuff depends on the situation.I allso edited/adjusted some of my answers about weapons. Just tried to make them clearer.)
  8. The build is still doing good. I got rank 10 after the first 15 matches in this 2v2 season while solo q. Here is a vid of some highlights.
  9. I have still been playing this build and I think its even better in this meta. Some people wanted some example combos and tips so I made a new video with those in the beginning. vid link :
  10. 2 weeks sounds way too short amount of time for these mini seasons. Off season is the worst if the only thing you can play is unranked conguest. If you want to have a 1 week offseason without any ranked then could you add the incoming gamemode of the miniseason to be unranked for the first week. Then people can chill out because there is no ranked immidietly but at least others can play 2v2s, 3v3s or what ever the mini season brings instantly after conguest season. I would love to see 2v2 or 3v3 to be added in unranked permanently like stronghold. I have been very happy with the last mini season. Keep up the great work.
  11. Here is just some of the stuff that I considered while trying to slowly find the optimal build for me. I have not tried WvW so I have no idea what is good in there. I just really love the synergy between specifically these 3 trait lines. I went from sage amulet to grieving because I felt I did too little damage to have an impact and I had too much survivability. The healing power did not seem to give enough value either while only having restorative illusions and signet heal that is on cd half of the time. I used to play moa or time warp because I never needed mass invisibility to survive. Those had way too long cd to make enough use of them. I feel chaos gives more survivability that I dont need but it makes it easyer to stand on point and not get decapped. I think you will still eventually get decapped either way because you dont have enough countter pressure and you cant stay on point vs something like holosmith smacking you with all hes aoe and cc and you rely on distortion that gets you decapped. You dont even have knock backs to force them off node. Big damage has the potential to force people off node without using knock backs. Every time I tried chaos I felt like I was lacking on clone generation and/or damage and that impacts so many key aspects of the build. The synergy between deceptive evasion, Signet of illusions, signet of the ether, Restorative illusions and shatter storm works so nicely. Passive signet heal gives so much healing from all the clone generation that if you dont want to get decapped because of distortion you can play passively and survive well without using your heal signet or signet of illusions. For damage and with these stats the synergy between master of fragmentation, shatter storm, master fencer and deceptive evasion gives you 75% crit chanse on your double mind wrack. Combined with 1000 power and 500 ferocity It is nice amount of damage and you can actually have good amount of clones for both shatters. I allso love deceptive evasion because you dont have a lot of hard cc to help you land all these shatters you have available. Great way to land good amount of them is to wait your opponent to use a melee attack that you want to dodge. While they are in the attack animation you know they cant dodge so thats when you want to do damage. So If you shatter during your dodge you are guaranteed to land atleast 2 clone shatter on them because of illusionary persona and deceptive evation. You can add phase retreat in there to do instant 3 clone shatter for extra damage. Allso the ability to dodge and get a clone for longer distortion can make a huge difference while reviveing, stompping or just surviving when multiple people jump on you. I did not go to why I personally dont like mirage because this post is starting to be way too long. :P
  12. Looks interesting. I like the idea of off hand sword and mirage rune. Seems strong on tankyer build like this.
  13. :D ye I have been having a lot of free time lately.
  14. xD Pets are evil. I actually love staff. Your build looks nice. It really is interesting to see sooo many different builds being played. I allso really love axe but I dont like mirage at all.
  15. All the signet mesmers I have seen play tanky amulets like sage. For me the use of full glass amulet made a big difference. I am actually a threat to opponents and not just a tank.
