I tell all my friends about this issue and how shameful ArenaNet's response has been.

Reminder that this wouldn't be a problem in the first place if they saved progress within instances.

Funny that GW2 sells itself on its story and yet ArenaNet doesn't care even a little bit that their system for delivering that story is fundamentally flawed.

Look, ArenaNet, it doesn't matter if you can reproduce this bug or not. It doesn't matter! Just save progress at multiple points during story instances! In the first place it never should have been designed in such a way that a disconnect can cause a player to lose hours of progress.
