    every game mode should have unique rewards, that’s good for the game. The most unique rewards are already in PvE.
    Gift of Battle is a great motivation to try WvW. That’s how I and many others started playing WvW. 
    Gift of Battle should stay in WvW just like Gift of Exploration, Gift of Maguuma and Gift of Cantha should stay in PvE. It’s a shame that you can buy the sPvP item on the TP. 

    a.d. 1 - like it or not, PvE funds the game, so it's reasonable to expect thatm ost flashy rewards are in this game mode

    a.d. 2 - or a great burden for anyone who does not want to fight other players (for example due to having enough PvP in real life) .Sad state of this game mode, lack of updates, lack of proper tutorials, gankers and zergs rotflstomping newbies who dare to venture outside of spawn point is NOT a motivation. I hate PvE instanced content in this game, that's why I had to do WvW for leggy armor (this was way before SotO). I endured it long enough to get what I wanted, but I'll never go back there. It's boring and no fun at all. I'm happy I got enough GoB during that time to make like 40 legendaries. Never again.

    a.d. 3 - see above. sPvP is even worse. Amount of toxicity in thie game mode is beyond measure. ANet did the split right in GW1 and I'm glad they did not force it on PvE folk in GW2.

  2. I know ANet is not gonna do ***about it, but requiring GoB for legendaries was a mistake from the beginning.

    Legendary weapons of all three generations should require a different gift, one obtained by completing a story ( killing Zhaitan should reward two of them, similarly to how map completion gives two GoE). That would make those weapons fully PvE-only obtainable (as it should be).

    Now, WvW and PvP folks should also have the ability to get leggy weapons, like they do with armor and some trinkets. Those leggies should be obtainable by grinding either game mode exclusively, without stepping a foot in PvE. Similarly to Triupmhant leggy armor, those weapons would be purely functional - without flashy effects (maybe spend some extra skirm tickets for some aura or whatever). Instead of GoE that is seemingly a PitA for WvW/PvP ppl, they would need something like Gift of Legendary Dolly Slapping or Gift of Legendary Catapult Placing or something similar.

    Possibly also adding VAT based on account location, as most consumer laws in EU require VAT to be always included in the final price

  4. Hi.

    With the introduction of new NPC, who converts various essences, its time I clean my vault of unneeded currencies.

    Most of them were rather straightforward - I'm sure I won't need any more Eritrite Ingots or Ley Line Sparks.

    Not sure about all essences I got from Kryptis Rifts.

    I got my legendary armor from WvW, so I'm not gonna craft the Open World one from SotO. Already have all legendary trinkets, backpack, runes and sigils and most of the weapons I need.

    I do however intend to craft legendary spear from newest expansion.

    Can I safely assume I will not need kryptis essences anymore to do that? Do they have any other use relevant to current expansion?

  5. Celestial Spellbreaker is better than berserker/marauder in PvE ? Is additional condition duration/boon duration really worth it? Condirion duration would matter only for vulnerability, but its only source is sigil or frailty which only really works on bosses...

    I already have such uncompleted meta achievement. IIRC, Shadow In The Ice required not one, but several achievements obtainable only in strike missions. I did all open world ones and was still like 5 short for the completion. Ended up getting the emote in WvW reward track...

  7. If I'm reading the wiki correctly, I need to complete Honorary Astral Ward achievement for Amnytas map mastery. This requires completion of a strike mission for Jotun Skypiercer bow. Is there a way around it? Any hidden achievement that would count? And before you all rush with "strikes are easy" replies, I just want to know if it's possible, I will not do strike for map completion achievement (or for any other reason).

    I don't understand this. For Skywatch Archipelago, I had to do 22 out of 28 eligible achievements. Amnytas seems far more restrictive in this regard...

    It happens all the time when enemies attack Hills. I'm building AC on ground level behind the wall (the wall, that is like what, at least twice my height) and then get hit with a pull. In 50% of cases I get stuck inside the wall and die to AoE without any chance of escape, remaining 50% chance I get pulled through the wall completely and die to 30+ ppl after burning my 2 stunbreaks.

    It's going to be one relic, so one bonus. I need this for WvW DH, but I don't play just one character in WvW (or anywhere else). All builds that relied on some unique 6th effect (not 5% damage, but those truly unique) will be basically shut down upon launch.
