  1. Isn't this post a week early for April Fool's?
  2. I just wanna know, what is on the back of that guy's head in the first video - is that where he jacks in and controls the game with his mind? Talk about unfair advantages...
  3. I'm not one to complain, but I already got all the PoI's and Vistas in this new map. Are you telling me that if/when I get both bars in my quest tracker filled up, I'll have to go back and re-explore the stupid thing again? You're right - that's not story... I was following the meta around, trying not to be blinded by all the winking-and-blinking player characters around me, when some chucklehead came over mapchat and announced that anyone not participating in the meta should go to another map. I logged immediately and won't be back on except to move that toon out of the SotO maps. I may come back when the "expansion" is "complete", but there's plenty of fun things to do elsewhere...
  4. It may not be your issue, but I too had multiple instances of the game crashing/disconnecting after an instanced story, the most notorious being after the loooong Balthazar fight in PoF; I think I did actually ragequit for a while after that happened twice in a row. But these problems went away (mostly) when I went into the first tab in Options - all the way at the bottom - and turned Streaming to "Max". Crashing after instances has become a thing of the past. Try it; you'll like it...
  5. As the founder of the fashion guild Nearly Naked Norns (NnN), I heartily endorse this petition!
  6. I bought about five of those treats when first I started that part of the skyscale questline; if I recall correctly, that was the only place where I actually had to use one...
  7. Instead of making them smarter, how about just speeding up the mobs' attack speeds? You've seen them fight one another (attack, wait, wait, wait, wait, attack again, wait, wait, wait.) Just remove a wait or two and hey presto! a slightly more challenging mob...
  8. From what I understand (not being a fisherman myself) it'd be useful for somebody to stand guard while the rest of the party fishes, so your gunner could either fire grapeshot or drop depth charges on aquatic ne'er-do-wells who want to interrupt you...
  9. The wiki is chock full of various wallpapers, screenshots, loading screens, and concept art, for all the various expansions and living world chapters, though I doubt they're in precisely the resolution you're asking for. I've downloaded a massive collection for my screen background: it changes every minute, and I rarely see the same picture twice in a day...
  10. "The other dungeons' story modes have never been part of the personal story." But they should have been... (Not to hijack the thread, but that group-required final personal story step made me quit the game for a number of years. After solo-ing my way to the end, I was forced to find a group to kill the big boss, and I felt betrayed by that. I think I only came back after PoF was announced...)
  11. Wish they'd go ahead and do that for the other dungeons...
  12. I would also have mentioned the temples in Orr - that's where my first character got her first exotics all those many years ago - except I came half a day too late to the topic. But the thing that struck me the most was "Kitten Christ". Can we really not say the name of Jesus, or only when it is used as an expletive? I'll guess I'll discover this, after I hit "Submit"...
  13. NVM, thought we were talking about the mastery potions from the WV; please ignore... You still have to get the mastery points to unlock skills; you can't buy those (yet). Wait, you can buy hero points now? No more HP trains through HoT or PoF? Where's the fun in that?
  14. I was buying an exotic aquabreather, and I realized somebody there would sell me a commander tag for 300g, which I just happened to have, barely (saving up gold has never been one of my strong traits, but SotO has had me playing much more lately...) Now, I've been enjoying the game for a long time, but I'm strictly casual: I couldn't lead a 5- or 10-man group anywhere but to their untimely demise. My vanity guild is actually named "Blind Guides"; you do not wanna follow me... In the perfect game, an achievement-related tag would be the norm; if I followed a Commander, I would expect him to be competent...
  15. "Corset" Like a lot of recent designs, this one actually seems to make the female smaller up top... Still waiting for a plain light armor short skirt, or a "little black dress" outfit.
  16. Years ago there was a small 3D printing outfit that would create small (3"-4") models of your WoW toon; I think they even came painted. Of course the price was ridiculously high, but the drool factor was intense...
  17. Soloable story dungeons. Hey, here's a letter from Rytlock: he's going to go fight Flame Legion Shamans in some hole somewhere. Guess I'd better gather a group and go help him. Kitten that: I haven't set foot in a dungeon since AC, way back on my first character, when I had to go in with a pug. Didn't enjoy: never did it, or any story dungeon, ever again. Soloable story dungeons. I'd start a new character, just to experience the story in order...
  18. So glad it's not a reboot; Cataclysm is what made me quit playing WoW...
  19. *big sigh* for that last response... Going back to YouTube videos, there's a fellow from Nova Scotia with a channel, "These Are the Spiders In Your House", where he does deep dives into the most common North American spiders you're likely to run into, and rates them according to things like "politeness" and "biteyness". Now, I'm not arachnophobic, but I've never been a big fan, possibly due to having not one but two black widows drop down onto my neck over the years while I was minding my own business. However, this guys' videos, while certainly featuring both photos and videos of spiders, also helped me accept that most spiders are just bugs, and some bugs I really like (ladybugs and lightning bugs are awesome...), so I have learned to not worry too much about them...
  20. I actually like the new system. As stated above, erroneously using them has never been a problem, and keeping them activated and ready-to-go has freed up one of my shared slots.
  21. And I, again, and for no good reason, stick my nose in to suggest that giving us dyeable underwear would be the optimal solution. Take off your armor and go swimming or sunning anywhere; no tents or even beaches needed. Want to run around the glaciers wearing your swimsuit? Take off your armor and cavort to your heart's content. Would I pay for the option to dye my male character's underwear to look like a Speedo? Certainly! Would I pay to have my female character dye her underwear into a fashionable pin-striped one piece? Why, Yes: Yes I would! And just for added provocation: Do I like skimpy armor sets? Yes I do! Do I think swimming suits should be armor? No, no I don't: that's going too far...
  22. I have to say that I was somewhat disappointed when I got my Griffon and it could not take advantage of updrafts like any normal bird (hell, even vultures can ride those currents for hours), but then I got my Skyscale and all that was forgotten. I don't expect my fat, lazy, fish-eating dragon mount to fly across the map without stopping; he's not built for that...
  23. Hate to necro this topic, but there is a General Option called Competetive, that lets you turn off the lines on the map. Check that it's not checked...
  24. Is there really not an official GW1 forum to post this in? That's the problem right there...
  25. "Underboob". Banned from network TV on the original Star Trek series back in the 60's, the American reaction sixty years later is still fear and revulsion. I just think that outfit is silly, 'cause you know that puppy would pop right on out...
