  2. Firstly, there's an option where you can mute other players' unique items. I'm pretty sure that includes mini sounds too if those really annoy you. Ngl, I get a little tired of hearing them too but we can just... tweak that setting and stop complaining then, can't we? B) Secondly, just because you dislike cat ears/tails on other peoples' toons doesn't give you the right to insist that the item shouldn't exist. It's not your call, it's Anet's. I don't like cat ears/tail either, easily the last thing I'd ever own from the gem store, but neither you nor I have the right to rain on other peoples' parade if they're having fun dressing up their toon in the ways they like and prefer. If you dislike it so much for the reasons you have then ignore it and move on. It's that simple.
  3. Honestly, while it might be nice to have some cosmetics that are very distinctive in terms of artistic identity, I also don't need or really want a ton of cosmetics that make it very clear it's from a certain game like how Blizzard does with WoW. I'd just like something that helps my toon look like how I want, whether that's a certain style of glove for a certain armor weight, a certain chestplate for one of my heavy armor toons, etc. I don't mind the wide variety of styles implemented since that adds something for everyone to enjoy - or cringe at while telling yourself that they can like that particular cosmetic even if you massively don't. xP Everyone has one of those cosmetic pet peeves, lel
  4. I'm a player who really enjoys having lore-immersed toons and having outfits, weapons, etc. to match them, their personalities, their story I have written for them. I'm not the biggest fan of the maid outfit, cat ears/tail, HMS Divinity even if the concept makes me die laughing etc. But I'm not about to say someone else shouldn't have all those things if Anet chose to make it available. By all means, have your cosmetics, even if they don't fit into my idea of the lore! That's the thing though- my toons, my vision for them and what they wear, what weapons they use and what they look like, what exists in Tyria and what doesn't, it's my interpretation of the base lore. It may be supported by base lore in some place, way or even just NPC dialogue but it's still my take on it. If someone wants to have the shiniest charr to rule them all, a wibbly wobbly rubbery sword that can somehow unalive risen again or cat ears/tail like we're in FFXIV, then go right ahead. I may not like it myself but that doesn't mean they don't have the right to like it or gods forbid, use it in my presence! </sarcasm> I don't have immersion issues with them because I can think of them as noncanon in my interpretation of lore, just as they may even think that my toons and outfits may not be canon to theirs. That's assuming they even care about lore and immersion. At the end of the day, you do you for your cosmetic choices. Just don't tell me that I can't do me for my cosmetic choices. 😄
  5. I'm on Dragonbrand, watched JQ/BP be swapped with Mag/SoR. For a short time, JQ/BP didn't exist (I got a cropped screenshot of it, lol) and there were two Mag/SoR, one in T3 and one in T4. I'm thinking a bug happened.
  6. How 'bout some way to get the Deathly stuff from Halloween's past this Halloween in the gem store, hm? ;3; I'm meaning the deathly/avian/bull mantle/shoulderpads/pauldrons. They've gone unavailable for too long! Atm, the only way to get 'em is through a lucky guaranteed wardrobe unlock!
  7. Glorious antics. tearwipe Just like when my brother in law and sis and I go into story and get ourselves killed in random ways. :D
  8. If you like your toons' names then that's what matters. cx Some may make me go 'o.O Wat?' and some may make me crack up but if they work for ya, great! I personally like having lore-based toon names since I come up with my own stories for them all. Generally, I prefer to have the proper spellings of their names if applicable but alas, a lot of names have been taken so I had to make some adjustments to some. Some of my toons' names I like the most are Raltyr Firetrail (charr tempest), Keesyn (sylvari soulbeast), Aoifeah (necro reaper), Asiri Kabbara (elonian human weaver), Armand the Lunatic (krytan human dragonhunter - also nuttier than a fruitcake), Ruairih (sylvari mirage - even nuttier than Armand; also the one that annoys me the most since I can't get his properly spelled name or any variants) and Jaarit (asuran deadeye). Usually during the toon creation process, I have to have at least some idea of what they're like/their history, I spend about 30 minutes determining what their physical features are like. Then I'll sometimes spend just as long deciding on a name. XD Of course, then there's my brother in law. Who has toon names like Keep It Ranged (ranger ofc) and Keep it Melee for the pet. LOL
  9. Thanks for posting this video, it'll be helpful to redirect people asking about the best ways to earn gold. :D Personally, I already do an amount on this list, though I don't do Istan but now think that I should given how much gold one can get in an hour of meta. I knew it was good gold, even post nerf, but not that good! Here's my take as a gold farmer, I'm a lazy fractal farmer, I don't do T4s often enough though I'm going to be remedying that in the future. -3- I already flip legendaries for a living, I'm actually getting low on gifts of exploration so I gotta do some more map completion. |D I personally may do it (once I have my personal keeping toons all map completed) on a guardian instead since I like their burst DPS. SW farming is a pretty big key to my (lazy) gold farming, though I actually keep the T4 mats for crafting into ascended materials daily for even more profit. As for PvP, it ain't my cup of tea so I don't bother, even now knowing it can be pretty profitable. For home instance, my brother in law has been playing for a /very/ long time and has an almost full home instance that he lets me farm when possible as he's a very busy man irl! The problem I find with using spirit shards for gold is I actually don't get enough of them with how often I flip legendaries. I swear, I'm the only person in GW2 who actually needs MORE of the dumb things!! LOL Excellent gold farming guide, well done!
