  1. Don't agree with placing spheres at cata location. Playing quick heal cata since eod release and it is so cool that I can buff my team ftom 1200 range while doing mechanics. Right now cata is the only healer that can do that. Before anyone asks - I generate energy via frostbow (2-3 autos+ skill 2=full energy)
  2. You are definetly not alone playing heal cata. Playing it almost from expac release. Mostly in raids and strikes. (playing only supports gets annoying pretty fast for me). Doing heal quick tanking on all raid bosses except deimos (hand kiting on cata). Heal + sabetha kiting and so on. It has great heals, full boon coverage with 1200 range is awesome. Like in OLC I can take aggro from blue on last phase and still provide my sub with heals and boons.
  3. I don't know how this topic became about ranged VS melee dps so I'd like to return to main discussion. So about buff radius (not the amount BTW) it is mostly 300 radius (600 diameter) is really small (mesmer, thief, engi, firebrand., herald). Don't remember about renegade but willbender sits at quiet comfortable radius of 600.
  4. That is why I'm up for this change. As for pve point of view I really see no downsides as you give buffs in like 900 or even 1200 range rather in 300. You give buffs to 5 ppl anyway so why 300-450 is the limit?

  6. Thought about projectile walls and domes as well but wouldn't it be as a mechanic on itself? Like stacking under a dome or behind a wall is a mechanic for sertain times or phases but not all the time and every boss.
  7. Not a typo. In that I meant not only deadeye with rifle but any class with ranged weapon firing point blank.
  8. By the way I forgot to mention that this change can allow us to create range support and dps roles. Seeing rifle deadeye kneeing in front of bosses is just painfull XD.
  9. Hello. I've been playing on and off from release (9,5 years). And one thing still buggers me. Why buff radius is so small? Like in raids when you split from squad while doing mechanics you are out of buffs for quite a while. This ultimately leads to stacking in one spot for almost all fights in pve, visual clutter and so on. My idea is to at least double (if not triple) of buff radius (alacrity, quickness and others) so ppl can spread a little. I'm not talking about wvwvw and pvp by the way coz this change will give unpredictable relusts in those modes (may be good but mostly bad). I'm writing it because I really don't like stacking in one place gameplay and want to move freely around bosses while not worrying about am I still in buff radius or not. So what's your opinion? It would be great to here pros and cons from you.
  10. Of course you should try it! In my opinion ele is one of the most fun professions to play. It will take a bit of time to get used to a lot of skills but it's not really a piano as a lot of ppl like to say. (except some builds). For end game content there are many builds like: Power dps tempest, weaver, catalyst Condition dps tempest, weaver, catalyst Quickness provider dps catalyst (condi and power) Alacrity provider dps tempest (condi and power) Heal alacrity tempest Heal quickness catalyst (cleared all raids with cms on it as tank heal quick) ____ Ele have very strong open world builds with lots of aoe. Numerous pvp and wvw builds. Ele can take all roles in group composition. So this is my take on it. P. S. You just need to invest some time to learn what skills do and some base rotations. P. S. S. After you learn ele most other profession will feel very easy to play. And at last in my opinion specialisations by difficulty to play: (from easiest to hardest) Tempest - catalyst - weaver

(Tested with only putting quickness on myself) Rotation: 1. Fire - Overload (Glyph of EP during cast), both signets, 5, 4, 2 (during cast switch attunement) 2. Earth - 4. 5, 2, Overload, 1...1, 2 (during cast switch attunement) 3. Air - Conjure Fiery Greatsword, 2 from greatsword, 5, 2, Overload - Switch to Fire Attunement. 4. Fire - 5 (Glyph of EP during cast), 4, 2, Overload, 2 (during cast switch attunement) 5. Earth - loop. 6. Air - pick up FGS, loop. Both signets press on cooldown.

  13. Tested alacrity in fractals today. Full ritualist, dagger./warhorn. (no sigils). 100% uptime. Start with fire overload 5 4 2 swap to earth 4 5 2 overload swap to air overload 4 5 swap to fire - rince and repeat. Utility fire signet, fire and earth shouts. Traits - fire earth tempest. Can link build. Haven't tested dps yet (arc is down). P. S. It would be great to get rid of air from rotation.
