  1. in other words, our leap finishers into ethereal fields no longer trigger chaos aura share. the synergy wasn't powerful enough to begin with as mesmer doesn't have nearly as many leaps or blasts for the ethereal fields it has unless someone was relying on other allies' ethereal fields. it's becoming more and more apparent that anet nerfs these nice interactions for something bland or less than useful to 'reduce' the potency. anet could have made chaos aura more useful and accessible than just the aura granting regeneration. our only aura skills come from trident and staff. triggering chaos aura is pretty clunky in practice, because you'd then dedicate to rifle, wells if chrono, feedback, or null field. maybe a condi to boon conversion upon getting a chaos aura would've spiced things up for mesmer support. elementalist has sooo many more synergies with auras. so why can't chaos mesmer be the same in this fashion?
  2. I have often wished to go to the Isles of Janthir ever since I got into gw2. It would be a dream come true. Ascalon isn't ruled out though and that is a pretty good prediction.
  3. just remove the leap and give it a warm-up animation so people can tell you're going to 'blast' them. using this skill feels very stupid for breaking a bar yet you're throwing yourself into danger as an ele. even if it keeps the leap, then it should make you evade attacks. in general a lot of the arcane skills feel lackluster, and the arcane GM trait feels so bad since condi ele can't even make use of it apart from the immob + bleed combo. while the stability is great, other skills need some punch to make this trait and the skills themselves to be taken. who's even using arcane skills except for power ele?
  4. Axe and torch ngl. I want a blowtorch hello!! Something like granting access to stealth, vigor, condi cleanse, and a mobile burning field. Axes with cleave that cause a lot of soft CC like slow, weakness, crippled, or something spicy like boon removal.
  5. The movement is why mirage is just so fun to play. I think it's wild that some people do not like that 'excessive' mobility. With axe 3 you do want to be careful not to teleport into bosses or aoes. Even in instanced content, having the dodges and evades are very nice when you just exhausted your endurance bar. You have to play carefully with mirage, unlike with other builds. Think of it as the icing on the cake for a DPS build that already benefits from dodging. I like that mirage has its flavor of dodging and that's how it should be.
  6. Reverting confusion's damage before that Oct 2022th balance patch would undo the already low confusion damage for condi mirage and condi mechanist. Of course this condition will always be encounter-specific, just like how torment was a few years ago. Condi mirage was great on twin largos, but more or less suboptimal elsewhere. I remember confusion holo was really good once upon a time before mechanist was a thought. I don't even enjoy condi mesmer as much in pve anymore, because they thought confusion was not relevant in pve. The OP's idea sounds interesting because it will remove confusion when people attack while under confusion, acting like a very detrimental cleanse. However, before any changes, I'd like to get that 50% damage increase when enemies activated skills. Undoing the nerfs would be a great first step.
  7. that sounds more like bad timing or a learning experience than the lack of skill. what people ought to do is reserve 'forced movement' skills for when they need mobility or need to dash back to their group for stacking. every build has its pros and cons. but that does prevent anyone from playing it because of the cons? no, people will play for fun or to challenge themselves. dare we even argue that one of the pros is 'good mobility' yet the con is 'forced movement' on some of Snowcrow's builds? because that is pointless.
  8. well, we gotta fill our alacrity quota, amirite? 😏 no, who asked for daring dragon to be changed in the first place. could've had the best of both worlds. the real kneecaps are the many obstacles warrior has to overcome to do damage in melee. rooted when in dragon trigger, telegraphed skills, very spammy playstyle that offers passive sustain or dps boosts. bladesworn on release made me go back to warrior, but removing that stun from WvW and PvP was a gross slap. then I left warrior again. you know it would be funky if they gave those two 1 1/2 evade frames that are on the underwater gunsaber to the terrestial gunsaber. (don't believe me? artillery slash and explosive shell are evade skills underwater.) i think adding the unblockable stacks to gunsaber skills would compensate for the reflects and low damage in competitive modes. having to hoop through crippled, weakness, immobilize, blind, chill, aegis, protection, and reflects are wildly unrealistic. anyone can sidestep your skills. warrior can only dream of not being crippled by outdated skills, traits, and overnerfs.
  9. okay, you say that, but when you need that mobility to get out of aoes, you'll be wishing skills gave you forced movement. learn how to work around it like everyone else does. all you have to do is save your forced movement skill. of course on quickscrapper, this is unavoidable because you'll need to do it to generate quickness. I think the best solution could be making skills like rocket boots stop at your target when you blast. quickscrapper could also use a redesign like draxynnic said because it is clunky relying on your surroundings. if the problem is only about scrapper and not other classes, then rework this only for scrapper. oh yeah, stow weapons if a boss ports away so you don't fall to your death because you lept. that interrupts the animation so you won't fall off ledges.
  10. Not unless you love the class theme or you are a dedicated mirage player. I really wish confusion get buffed again so condi mirage could shine like it used to. Axe condi mirage has a pretty high skill ceiling which may be more fun than the 1200 range condi virtuoso. For PvE, alac mirage is okay, but it has to twist its arms by taking infinite horizon and your utilities are less flexible unlike many support builds. I miss the old condi alac mirage that only ever needed desert distortion, even if staff ambush had alacrity for free. xd.
  11. I won't argue that knockbacking would be counterproductive to setting up combos, but it is a great way to prevent people from sitting on contested rings or punishing people on cliffs. Replacing knockback with knockdown would make things much harder to secure kills by knocking people off platforms. And to be fair, one could always replace Kick with Bulls Charge or another type of CC if knockbacks aren't desired.
  12. mace oddly enough is useful if you're condi berserker, but it's so so good with akeem relic or demon queen relic and applying lots of condis on top. the most outdated weapons are longbow, rifle, main-hand mace, and even greatsword. body blow needs to go to arms instead of strength. rifle and longbow would be alright with bladesworn if they weren't low DPS weapons or outdated. warrior deserves a good damaging long ranged weapon that every other class gets to become strong with. fear me should do damage or apply a condition when foes are too close to you, like confusion or vulnerability or even strip boons! this shout feels really bad and it's outdated. I'll never understand the whiners who insist knockback should be replaced with knockdown. when people are getting to close to your face, you want to knock them away to create distance. Even in PvE when mobs are getting far too close to you, the knockback is great so you don't die. Condi warrior seriously needs more variety because outside of body blow turning physical skills into partial condi skills, all there is bleeding, bleeding, and bleeding. I'd scrap martial's cadence (wvw's and pvp's version of this trait) and warhorn 5 so they no longer grant quickness. Maybe empower your next burst skill by doubling the damage, boon duration, and condition duration. I know anet doesn't like group unique buffs, but why not restore the +25% charge buff on warhorn to give it appeal still? One can dream, right?
  13. but why? XD a melee option is rare to find on mesmer.
  14. For real, we don't need another support weapon anymore tbh. Besides, with some creativity, you can even make greatsword a burst heal weapon if you're using bountiful blades to grant might + healing with 2 clones. I don't see a need for mace when there are rifle, scepter, staff, and shield.
  15. The only serious change I would make is gs 5 a ground-targeted pull, because the pull isn't always reliable on terrain, notably uneven terrain. I've seen the claw go underground and not do anything. I know people have suggested that it be a leap/dash on greatsword (me included) but I truly don't think anet would want to give necro that edge.
  16. I mean, I expect to make slashes with any sword, but not literally throw my legendary sword (throwing bolt or the shining blade is so weird). Idk it contradicts the slash animations if you ask me.
  17. oh yeah, it needs to be an ammo skill for the icing on the cake. πŸ˜†πŸ˜‰
  18. stun break + superspeed 😏
  19. based. AND BASED. I've wanted this for heal warrior since there are really no competitive choices for a warrior heal and dps build apart from berserker. how about a dps + support stat without the unnecessary stats of celestial or too supportive stats like ritualist? power concentration condition damage expertise concentration healing power expertise condition damage power ferocity healing power concentration (the 3rd one would be good if you had access to precision from traits or high crit chance from modified boons like fury or resolution).
  20. πŸ˜›Signet of Radiance: passive: reduces incoming damage by -15%. breaks stuns in all attunements active (fire): lose all conditions and gain every aura. the next time you exit the fire attunement, you'll be able to enter it again. active (water): heal all allies around you and prevent chill, burning, and vulnerability applications for a brief moment. active (air): gain superspeed and reset the cooldowns of your air weapon skills (recharge reduction: 10%). active (earth): prevent bleeding and weakness for a brief moment. create a field that weakens foes and grants you and other allies magnetic aura, vigor, and stability.
  21. Thirding sword/warhorn because it's just far too good to pass up for roaming.
  22. okay, I like these ideas. it gives you a lot of creativity for power and condi builds, particularly condi spellbreaker that has been thrown around from time to time. did you not have any ideas for what warhorn could bring?? maybe barriers remove a condition and an additional condition when you're at 50% health?
  23. if these swords were melee, they'd do a lot of damage like greatsword, but because they're ranged, they can't compete for that much DPS. look at what happened to guardian's scepter in the 2019 patch when it got nerfed because it was outpacing sword, a melee weapon. sword has range, boon corruption, and mobility so those justify the low damage. off-hand sword is truly a hybrid weapon because it works well for condi as it does for power. main-hand sword is best for power (it's not strong enough to replace scepter on condi reaper).
  24. longbow mesmer and ele. necro possibly off-hand axe or off-hand pistol. warrior is just running out of weapons at this rate. guardian with off-hand mace ranger and thief with off-hand sword engineer could use dual axes ngl. revenant is a wildcard, to be honest.
  25. yes, it would especially synergize with piercing shards. it's because there are very few ways to apply vulnerability in the water attunement and benefit from water's extra strike damage to vulnerable foes. that's the problem. a lot of vulnerability comes from skills outside the water attunement. at least weaver can use specific dual skills on pistol, scepter, sword, and hammer to benefit from piercing shards. core ele can't apply vuln as easily while being in the water attunement without using main-hand dagger or a catalyst doing the same with hammer in water. ironically, arcane precision gives you vuln on crit hits in water but you have to run a different spec just to take advantage of piercing shards.
