Oh no that is unacceptable... Does that mean we need it to nerf it more? You know.. since you having issues against it is the absolute measure of balance we can possibly have! For real though I would say around half the things you talk about is true and the other half is personal bias and skill issue. Mixing reality with your personal bias is a good strategy to impose your opinion but I really don't think it mattered in the end. Don't mistake what is essentially the balance team's incompetence as your personal victory. It would have happen anyway..we have seen it too many times. They can't balance the game anymore.

What has happened to ele is a travesty of balancing. Only totally biased people cannot see it. They could throw catalyst at the trash bin. Ban it from being used in pvp instead and I would be way happier about the state of elementalist instead of this. Whoever made the decision for the original WiS trait and stubbornly did not opt for a total revert before trying anything else should really reconsider his /her career choices.

You really don't get it.. Let me explain this to you. X trait is buffed to ungodly levels of power. Several skills and traits from a set Y get the nerf hammer to compensate for the new level of power. They fail to compensate regardless so they also destroy original X trait. Every single non cata build that uses a skill from set Y is now unusable. The end! Is it clear now? Imagine if they never did that change and just nerfed power catalyst..

Of course you don't have any complaints after the whole written in stone fiasco.. freaking biased hypocrites..

OMFG. They created a monster with Wis and then they nerfed everything about signets to compensate. Then after failing they trashed Wis while also nerfing signets more. No one is picking signets with old Wis and no one should pick the new way nerfed signets with this Wis. The build is deads. Signets are deader than before. WHY DID YOU EVEN USE DEVELOPER TIME FOR THIS. @Trevor Boyer.6524 I know you hate the elementalist class and you probably won't understand what really happen. You might even consider this as a BIG win! But at this point just know that I pity you for investing all this time in a game that has this team behind it. I really hope you come to understand what happened right now not just as a matter of balance..I really do.

And also maybe do some damage on the explosion so you can do some spikes with it! It doesn't have to be much like 1k-2k max on glass cannons! Hmm that would be so much fun actually. Cata without blasting on the water field would be massively weaker though but the fun comes first! Maybe give some secondary explosion effect on the grandmaster traits that nobody uses because they take staunch auras since it is so broken.. But whatever. this is just dreaming they don't have the capacity to do this kind of change..

Elementalist just needs a rework tbh. Imo they should increase the potency of every Elementalists weaponskill but also impose a big 4-8 sec global cooldown between switching attunements. Keep the weaver as the faster attunement juggler iteration. I know many people would oppose this but as someone who played this class on and off since beta I disagree. Attunement juggling and conscious decision-making/reactive-playstyle are way too hard for the average human to achieve simultaneously. So Elementalist is either very bad because it is actually close to balanced and people can't reconcile spamming and proper decision-making of their abilities OR Elementalist is mega broken because just spamming by itself is an effective playstyle/strategy. Sure you can incorporate some reaction and awareness into your spamming and thus good ele players do exist but perfect play is almost impossible. You can't go on like this! Not only is it a balance nightmare but it also is not even a fun concept anymore. Without that much freedom in swapping attunements they could have the most broken abilities but they would still be constraint based on the fact that each attunement swap is a commitment and there are clear windows of total vulnerability to abuse against them. On the other hand, this slowdown would give the player time to actually use the kitten skills situationally instead of juggling like a monkey trying to upkeep boons and use cooldowns. I hope they take this approach in the future or maybe gw3?!?! 😄

Without claiming here that ele is not op CAUSE IT IS OP. I have to point out that you have no idea what the class even does.. you are suggesting changes on things that do not exist.There is no might on burning but might on skill usage you lose when swapping out of fire. Spheres work exactly as they were before patch since the change was pve only. Also using signets means you don't take the op block and earth shield so ele is not net harder to kill that is a hard statement to verify. FINALLY I think gale should have 1/8 sec knockdown what if the game engine doesn't allow it we should rewrite it for you! Why am I baiting myself back into this s--tshow..? I haven't launched the game in months kitten. I guess I just can't help being curious how low it will get.

In ff14 new players have the sprout icon next to their name and are legit worshipped by old players in all aspects of the game. They treat you like princes and princesses to make you stick around with their game🙃. I wish it was the same here.. Keep in mind that if the game node can't retain new players and grow in population then your omega skillz mean nothing. Unless of course you already know that your omega skillz mean nothing cause you never get to compete with talented players since they would never bother to put hours in gw2 .. and so you don't want pvp to thrive in order to keep feeding your delusions! It's all fine!

Lol how would you know if these nerfs are enough or not. Obviously they won't destroy cata and throw it in the bin if that was the intention. But let me give you some reality check here that you can easily verify if you venture a bit to other more competitive and healthier pop games.. The pvp scene is dead. The only good people that can figure out the game log on once a month to win the monthly and then disappear into the sunset. It is so casual that the effects of every change need week(s) for the change to actually affect the meta. Heck I was watching ele streams for days after the last patch and even extremely good mechanical players were claiming that fa weaver is better than catalyst, ele scepters were not good enough, water trident change was terrible, dust devil and more.. LOL and look at what happened. It is such a shame really.. but no matter how much i tried to justify stuff, population of games like this one is such an important factor. Even if other popular games is like swapping to playing tetris compared to gw2 😞

I see.. we were talking about being "invuln like" while offensive, so basically this Sahne guy derailed it just to point us how he knows you can cast hurl during obsidian flesh. 😂

Oh well the premise of the original argument is wrong then. There are almost no elongated effects unless you count dots like burning in the meta catalyst build.There are the sphere fields but they deal no damage. Earth shield 5 is stationary so there's no point to eat orbs damage either if any is up since they are at melee range and you cant attack him either way. Scepter fa has some precast like dt a fire field that does some damage burn and insta casts but it doesn't seem to be meta yet. Hurl does ok damage air 2 does okish for instant earth 4 does almost no damage but reflects. Invuln doesn't allow node ticks so if ele pops this very important CD it's to counter a CD of your own, buy time for CDs, passively heal, counter dots ticking and preexisting soon to land damage and finally get support from outside source with no counterplay!(invuln is frking strong right??!?). There are no attrition effects of any importance really and the ele neither "defends node" nor force the attacker to stay in any dps effect on said node unless it's a monkey. You could remove all instas under invuln and it still would be strong! You guys don't like ele strong and want to remove power by replacing this very powerful defensive tool with a lesser one.. I get you, I feel you ele is strong!! This is a zoo everyone for himself. But what is this talk about being offensive when uninteractable.. be a proper man (or woman) and say things as they are. It's a matter of power allocation not mechanics! Also pls somebody ban this terrible tempest build I cringe so hard every time I see it. edit: and to strengthen my argument that is all about power. Fire weaver can actually be seriously offensive when invuln by pri stance lava skin. No one gave two shts about this interaction till now that tempest support and cata side started dominating and people tried to find excuses to nerf ele skills. An interaction that the meta builds don't exploit. Hilarious.

You show a duel vs a guy with a queue pop to prove that you can attack while invuln on ele and you pressed only hurl.. Lol hurl!! precasts don't count, fields don't count, dots don't count you can easily achieve the same effect by using a tp to Los. But you don't complain about tp.. There are so many ways to delay the game in gw2. Also god.. play something else other than selfish tempest for your own good! And also random question that doesn't have any bearing to the conversation and it popped out of nowhere in my mind for no reason at all: Is being delusional a self defense mechanism for avoiding the truth? Probably

This Sahne guy literally thinks he is an ele master because he got once plat.. in 10games per season playing one of the most pointless builds ele. His view of the game is distorted and he literally gets a kick off of flooding each thread with his opinions. It's hilarious 😂 Sorry couldnt resist posting. Ban me for personally attacking people lol
