  2. Well history repeats itself, so all other professions complain about the new mesmer elite spec and then devs nerf it into the ground. That seems to work as a counter.

If you want to experience frustration and other players blaming you for losing 500-50 because they think it is a good idea to 3v1 a near unkillable tank when the other team has the other 2 caps then sure go ahead. Don't expect serious competitive play though. Some people will deliberately afk and make your team lose for not playing the way they want. I wouldn't actually recommend it to new players. sPvP has changed a lot over the years, for the worse, especially since ANet lost interest in PvP because their eSports idea was a complete failure and all those $$$ slipped out of view,
  4. I disagree. There are many forms of being OPness. Certain class specs are OP in a particular area and others are OP in everything. That's why having two of the same class specs in a team usually wreck the other team. Two Scrappers/Holos have a ridiculous amount CC that is pretty overwhelming if you have a team comp that that has little stability. Two Scourges/Reapers usually leads to a bad day for the other team especially at mid. The melee specialists specs are overtuned compared to everything else: the sustainability and dps output of one just Spellbinder or core Guard is absurd, two obviously even more so....and so on and on with other specs. I think the biggest problem is the move to zero counterplay skills or combos that can't really be defended against while simultaneous nonsensical dps/sustain.
  5. The targeting system is pretty atrocious in GW2. Mes are suppose to confuse opponents with illusions that is its class mechanic, but necro minions (which is much more than 3 clones) are not suppose to do that and is unintended imo. Minions shouldn't even be able to be single targetable in the first place.
  6. Anet deliberately wrecked Chrono with nerfs. Those of us that mained Chrono are still baffled as to why they made the class practically useless especially in PvP. A lot of people playing other classes were complaining about Mirage, and then for no discernible reason they just wrecked what was left of Chrono which was already nerfed several times before to the point where I and the majority of people maining Chrono in PvP had already and reluctantly swapped to Mirage. The last big changes (changing the F-skills) were imposed after the Chrono population was already very low. I've still not heard any good reason why they did this. It was actually illogical and cemented my mind that the current class developers are either fresh out of college or truly have no clue what they are doing. Barring that there is a pattern: introduce powerful specs then before introducing new elite spec with a new expansion you degrade the old ones to presumably to increase sells of the new expansion. Even Mirage is pretty now mediocre compared to some other class elites now.
  7. It doesn't specify whether the -5sec CD is for your current active weapon set. Logically it should be, but we are talking ANet here.
  8. Admins, lol. This is GW2. Where the same people can use hacks in-game for over a year and nothing is done. Don't even bother with the report system, it's just there to make you feel better.
  9. A lot more landslide matches now I agree. I'm repeatedly seeing the same people in matches too. I think this is a consequence of a much smaller sPvP population and a lot of people just not playing seriously any more. The amount of times I've been on a team that ends up fighting home cap when the other team have the other two is ridiculous. People just want to fight now, and aren't too bothered about winning it seems. They need to make a 1v1 mode for people who want to practice and test out new builds, or just to see how good or bad they really are (which isn't possible in a full pug team). This should improve the quality of games. I know there is unranked, but let's face it a lot of people just don't distinguish between the two any more. Also get rid of the Ascension paths that require people win on X number of classes a Y number of times. I've people openly admit they're just there for the legendary Wings, playing classes they have no experience on hoping to get carried to wins.
  10. They should just increase turn speed. One of my pet hates of the game is I have to bind a key to turn around quickly. It's quite unintuitive, and all other PvP games I've played doesn't have this bizarre slow turn speed. If they changed that one aspect PvP would be much different.
  11. Bring stability. Holo is hard to fight unless you have enough stab. They will chain CC you to death. Most of their strat depends on knocking you on your butt, so they they can then knock you down again, and then line-up a heavy hitting combo before you can do anything. That combined with their stealth can be quite annoying.
  12. Another bad map like Skyhammer. Small, cramped caps that favour condi AoE, Power AoE, and CC AoE, so basically Necros, Guards and Engies. It sucks.
  13. Just had a match where opposing team had rampage warr that was doing literally 3 x10K damage with arc divider, but apparently no one is complaining about that. Most players will be dead after two hits of AD let alone three.
  14. Lol, all of a sudden ANet is concerned about counterplay. Wonder if any real no counterplay builds from other classes will receive the same treatment. On a side note, it's worrying that ANet is basically pandering to people who don't like playing against Mes period for unsubstantiated and non-evidence based reasons. I'm still trying to understand why they destroyed Chrono, which was one of the weakest Elite specs in sPvP even before the last round of nerfs.
  15. I gain a quarter of a tier then I lose a quarter or more. Most of the losses are due to: AFKsBeing on teams with 2 or more core specs going up against full team of elitesUsually two necros on other team that just wreck everyone, or two burn guards or two burn eles or two mirages or two Holos or two Rampage warrs.On teams with people who clearly haven't played their class/spec muchpeople who don't understand the map mechanics (true story), On teams that just have no answer to team of condi or CC, usually both.Whole team that decides that fighting home cap when the other team have the other two is a good idea. Amount of matches lost on this alone is unbelievable.Teams that just can't win 1v1s.
  16. Actually Mirage CI isn't as bad as people think. I played it before people were even talking about it on the forums. It is primarily a support build. Sure you can kill people (slowly), but staff is mostly a defensive weapon. So basically 1 of you weapon sets is for defense and other for offense, and they don't really work well together imo unless you are a very skilled player. CI in a team fight is great but the immob isn't guaranteed as the daze has to interrupt a skill to work, which really is not as easy as people are making out. You can go a whole 1v1s or 1v2s (not easy on this build) and not get an immob. I stopped using it because the damage isn't good, and you can't take out a tank with it.

Very very few Chrono in sPvP before the patch and I've only seen two after it, and they both got destroyed. I doubt a one trick pony build is going to change that, and if it did, expect it to get nerfed since they really don't like Chrono for some reason.

Most people are not going to think this is a serious post if you think 1 mes can have 8 clones. very likely you have enemy models turned on in settings, but you were definitely fighting two mes at once. Unfortunately enemy models can't distinguish between 2 different players of the same class, they look the same.
  20. Except that is not the way it works. Since the last patch there were multiple pages streaming with people complaining that the new Elusive Mind was a worthless trait. As a result, nothing was changed, it was left the way it is, and the next patch they just slapped on a term calling it a 'defense-focused' trait. If anyone working at Anet actually took such suggestions as the OPs seriously, we would have at least seen changes or a revamp to Elusive Mind. I have a lot of respect for Countless, but over the past several patches I have realized that he is likely just wasting his time on this one. Give it time, it hasn't been two years yet.

  22. Prediction: after 2 years of people complaining about the changes they'll release a patch reverting the shatters back to thte original citing we believe that the changes we made were a little harsher than intended. Classic brainless ANet. They do this all the time.
  23. After all the nerfs to chrono, they literally kill off the spec. The changes make no sense at all. A big part of defence for any mes spec is distortion. Is this a ridiculous ploy to try to make more people buy PoF to play mirage? I'm not sure what game mode this was aimed at, but it definitely wasn't PvP. I also don't understand why they think chrono is more powerful than mirage so that it needs this crippling nerf.
