  1. Thanks for the update notes, however the changes made on the potion kind of messed up the viability of ranger in fractals. In fractals it's hard to flank, so taking skirmishing is not really an option. Now if we want to crit cap we need to take skirmishing or change our gear, which is the opposite of what was the plan, if I'm reading correctly. If you guys can look it up and try to fix it that would be great.
  2. There are a lot of buff when you merge as soulbeast. Including a 15% damage buff iirc. Remove it, and you can buff core ranger by 15%, without touching soulbeast damage. And you still have a bunch of cool hidden buff here and there.
  3. That's one of the biggest issue with their balancing approach. They are balancing looking at the top 0.01% players.
  4. Being a ranger main, it's been a while I was waiting for this balance patch. Well I'm very disappointed by the choices made for soulbeast and the class in general.
  5. The specs : They are a bit disappoiting and feel a bit uninspired. They should offer more, and move Firebrand out of the meta a lot more. Firebrand should be nerfed to hell. Untamed is a joke. My main is a ranger and I barely play it anymore because of untamed. Sure there is soulbeast too, but all I can think about is how Anet did us dirty with untamed and then stopped communicating or updating it. Sometimes I just feel like I want to quit the game because of untamed. The maps : They are great. The HP works well, the exploration is very well made. My least favorite one is New Kaineng, it just seems so flat and really not like in the trailer. New Seitung is the best one. Really well made. I really like Echovald Wilds as well. Both are some of my favorites maps. The meta : They are disappoiting. They don't give enough rewards imo, and have little replayability compared to HOT ones. The first one does an ok job. It's good. The one in new kaineng is very very bad. In echovald wilds, it's a bit boring given that the world boss is just golem MK II copy. I would have liked more inspiration from the kurzick, or the gangs, anything but the junkyard boss doesn't really fit there. However I love the last meta. It is very fun, and the fact that it is challenging and fails without an organized group is a breeze of fresh air. I love it. What I don't like about it is that I have to be there 1 hour before to get all the rewards. The story : It's ok. Glad dragon story arc is over. The epilogue was a bit cringe though. Except for the detective friends, I hope we'll be part of them in new seasons. Masteries : They are ok, but nothing incredible. I wish they would be more useful outside of EOD. The new ranger pets are not convincing. They'd require a buff to replace the ones in the meta. The turtle is fun though. Overall I think it's a good expansion. Some stuff are really great, some others are a bit disappoiting. However it's worst weakness is I feel like there is little incentive to play its content compared to POF and HOT.
  6. No way. It's my favorite map. They should just add another unique map. They do 6 maps per season, if they did 2 instead for next season to offer more fractals, raids, and wvw updates that would be great.
  7. How do you know ? They stated that the goal was to make it challenging, it's supposed to be the point of culmination of a 10 years story arc. If it's doable without hands, like most open world players seems to like to play, why even bother anyway ? Just make it a quaggan, and call it a day. See, free rewards without even trying. That sounds like a great game to invest time in.
  8. The vindicator doesn't have a dps that is too low for strikes. It can reach 36k on large hitbox, 34 on small which is equivalent to soulbeast. People are expecting you to know the mechs and your rotation. Do you know your rotation ? If you don't learn it, then come back to one of those groups and say that you know mechs and stuff, most will give you a chance. I ask for requirement, but if someone come in and just ping the right gear for the role they play, they can get in.
  9. The reward for a 2hour long meta is not sufficient, compared to other metas. Would be nice to see it buffed
  10. Dragon's End is the best meta that came up since GW2 Launch. Just don't be bad, find good players, and you can do it. I have already completed twice without even tryharding. Learn to play the game, I swear on most open world content the average dps is so low. DE meta is a good thing, it will push players to understand mechanics and their classes.
  11. It's the gw2 servers that seems to block the IP. Issues appeared after the 1st march update, everything was working well before that.
  12. Hey everyone, I'm making this post, to make things move a bit, because this is becoming annoying, and it seems that Anet support doesn't understand the issue. Maybe it will help a few people, in the same case as us, to understand what's wrong with their game. It's been a week since all of public IP delivered by Orange, a french ISP can't connect properly by GW2 servers. A good number of my guildmates, but also random people I met in the game, or in the forums are suffering from random disconnection, infinite loading, this kind of things. We all have something in common, our ISP, Orange. Everything worked fine until the 1st of March patch. It seems that the public IP given by Orange are blocked somewhere in the connection with GW2 servers, because when using a VPN we can play the game normally without issues. We have been sending tickets to support, but the only answer we've been given is that the issue comes from our side. The french moderator of the GW2 forum apparently knows of this issue and has been contacting the support as well a few days ago, but we remain without news until this day.   13. That's definitely a bug. The map doesn't offer people to leave when empty. Try it yourself, get more than 5 people in a guild hall; usually they get an invitation to change to a larger map. It doesn't happen now, so after 5min they are automatically sent to the new map.
  14. It's still not great in PvE. I haven't seen any changes yet but axe ambush and life siphon on ambush skills. The untamed mechanic isn't very fun to play, it feels like a worst soulbeast. I wish the devs would have followed the idea of Ranger/Warrior dual spec, with a gameplay closer to Berserker, where you would activate the untamed mode, rampage everything for a limited time, with crazy ambush skills, damage boost and everything, and then have a cooldown, or an 'adrenaline" bar to increase with your pet skills for example. Could have been a lot more fun. The lack of unleashed pet skills is concerning, you could have specific pet skills per pet type. Also, the main issue is due to the low base damage of the ranger. It was heavily buffed thanks to soulbeast, but now the core ranger seems to really suffer from that on that new spec. I'm fairly disappointed that we haven't seen any changes yet, specially with the announcements that we will see changes in 6 months which is a long time. For me it's a big disappointment with this expansion. Really wish they have some changes in stock for untamed before july because it's the most lacking spec by far at the moment. Thanksfully, Willbender is very fun to play, but feels a bit overpowered, being able to give alacrity and celerity with your elite might maybe lead to Willbender stacking. Still have to try if it's viable though.
