  1. I just had the same issue happen to me. I looked briefly at my achievements as I was going through LWS1 stuff, to try and tackle as many I could while in Gendarran Fields. Discovered the 'Was a Watchknight' achievement, which was part of the Clockwork Chaos Completionist 17/17 list and thought it would be fun to do. I wiki'd where I could find a Watchknight tonic/how to transform before the fight began and found Laurel vendor sold it. Purchased for 25 laurels and 15 gold. Did the event got my Was a Watchknight achievement - fantastic. But then historical progress kicked in and I gained Worldwide Invasion Responder thus completing the final part of Clockwork Chaos Completionist - excellent! Except, this then gave me an account-bound Watchknight tonic, that I had to purchase not 30 or so minutes before to make progress towards it. Salt in wound! I mentioned my surprise in guild and map chat and several other players commented that they too felt perplexed and confused as well, after it happened to them - and then of course I see other people commenting here so it's clearly a valid reaction from a few players. I guess it's my fault for not counting the achievements in the list - assuming that those listed were the 17 needed and not actually 18, meaning that I could've been more selective in which achievement to pick before completing. Then I could've just done the event twice, the first to complete the list, then second time with the newly acquired Watchknight tonic to 'Catch 'em All' achievements wise. What would've made more sense to me, is that you purchase the "lower" form of the Watchknight to do the achievement, and then unlock the "higher" MKII version - but I guess that wouldn't work for everybody either if they purchased one from a Vendor at the Festival of Four Winds/Queen's Jubilee. In short, it stings. But I guess Anet can't foresee "all the pathways" players could take or it's simply not possible to rectify. It's not game breaking - just a hard lesson learned for me. I'll be sure to count those achievements and do what costs the least in future!
  2. 'Skin' items Gem purchases and other skin items received take up storage space - bags to bank. Is it possible, that these items have an optional "consume into transmutation stone" feature? Maybe separate those that were purchased with gems, rather than received? But I don't know how the system would be able to tell what came from where. The reason I ask, is because over a long period of time I have racked up a large number of skin items that aren't recognised unless they are sitting in the inventory. I sometimes forget what I have and so consume a transmutation charge instead of the skin item, giving no relief to storage space. Having the option to turn into a transmutation charge (in my opinion) doesn't lose the gem value for skins purchased - because you use charges whenever you use the wardrobe anyway. Many thanks in advance for considering this idea/suggestion 😅
  3. I'm not saying it is the same - and I know you didn't say that. Yes I referred to your first post, but I was only referring to the part where you said it bothered you that it wasn't now considered to be 'crafted' that was all - which is why I said we had a similar feeling. I didn't mean to refer to you about anything else you said because you were happy to do the new feature anyway - and that's also perfectly fine. That's just where our perspectives differ 🙂 Just like I've continued to say throughout, this post was only to see if there was anyone else who felt like they had a bit of a rollback, or working towards something they already had. And if so, whether there could be consideration for post-rewards - only because I would prefer to focus my gaming towards other projects, and not take (in my opinion) a step backwards. I see that majority (including you, in what you said in the rest of your post(s)) never saw it as anything other than what it is, a new step towards Precursors. And those who commented who have Legendaries already, saw no problem in having the option to go back over those they already owned. It is what it is!
  4. Yes, it will have to be the way I look at it, as it appears my opinion is a minority - and that's fine. I do see what everyone is saying and it shows perhaps even what Anet's perspective was. I guess I will just have to get over the feeling of 'rollback' and just spend more time on them and cross over the 'newly drawn finish line' for each 🙂 Then after, I can focus on another project. Maybe Xiuquatl!
  5. I'm really not 'mate'. I understand Collections are for precursors. I also understand that building up to Legendary weapons remains the same. I understand Collections never existed before and so its different. And yet, someone else commented in the thread to say they felt a similar feeling as I have expressed - so I'm not alone. It feels weird to work through a collection towards a precursor I previously had, because I physically needed to have it, to make the Legendary Weapon I now possess. That's it. Like sure, I could work through and earn another and then sell it, but..... *I* feel I shouldn't need to do that. It feels like a repeat. As an extreme example, Legendary Armoury was released and everyone who had a Legendary was auto-added in. It wasn't a feature that was there before so would it have been fair that only those who crafted AFTER the Armoury was released, were able to use it? No. It was available for everyone. But as ever, this is just my opinion and thank you for sharing your own point of view.
  6. I'm not confused. We just have a difference of opinion and that's okay 🙂 But thank you for taking the time to comment!
  7. You're right it is strange. Maybe even stranger - but to me that makes sense! It helps current players pick and choose whichever episode they want to relive at their own place, and new players to join in with their friends and play catch-up at their own pace. Good to know though, that the collections can in parts and not necessarily in order. I am not at all angry about the Collections system, I would just prefer to work on other legendaries rather than have this compelling feeling to work towards Bifrost and Kudzu's precursors because (in my opinion) I thought I had done them already.
  8. That's okay. Let me try to break it down. Firstly, its not my fault the Collection process didn't exist before lol (obviously, its no-one's "fault"). But, I have two Legendaries The Bifrost and Kudzu, made before and pre-Collections. The game on the one hand is telling me the weapons are account-bound, and I unlocked the skins associated. They're mine. And I know I put a lot of time and effort in making them (even if journey to get there was different). Post-collections, the game is now telling me I can still do The Legend and Leaf of Kudzu precursor collections (which is in my opinion) telling me I 'never earned them' or 'never had them in my possession'. This game trains and teaches players (along with many other game systems) to lust over achievements. I thought I had already achieved The Bifrost and Kudzu entirely and thought I could move on to another or something else. But having arguably been indoctrinated to get achievements, I see those uncompleted Collections and unlocks and feel a pull to now complete them as I have the weapons. But then I'm annoyed - because in my opinion, I shouldn't need to do those. Similarly, I wouldn't except to re-do skins or unlocks on characters I had already earned, or constantly fight for Map Completion as the map of Tryia expands. My OP was to suggest a post-rewards system, for players like me so we can unlock the achievements and unlocks without (and again in my opinion) repeating a process so we can focus on other things. Hope that helps. And if it doesn't, then thats fine too lol I don't know how else to explain lol.
  9. Okay, but I only referred to it as a journey because that's what other commenters have referred to it and I also never claimed the process was the exact same or even slightly similar other than the fact that "it's towards a Legendary, 2 of which I already own, and now I feel like I have to repeat part of that process" (even if its different).
  10. Thank you for your detailed response and time. I think you're the only one who thus far has a similar view point - it's bothered you that you have an item that the game is telling you that you've unlocked and yet you felt propelled to need to repeat it over again. I have that same annoyance, just resisting on time to invest over again when I have other game content I'd like to do too. I know the game doesn't force you to do anything, you can do anything you like but still, I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who felt a little bothered. However, from what everyone else (currently majority) has been saying, perhaps as the journey and process is different enough, its less of an irritation I first thought and perhaps even worth the effort.
  11. "Thank you for clarifying for me." I wasn't confused about that, you were 🙂
  12. Thank you for taking the time to respond, but I understood that its for precursors only. That said, it still seems strange to me to need to work towards something twice over (even if they changed the journey). But from what others have said, it seems the journey is worth the effort and time and can be interesting and fun.
  13. I didn't realise it shared the same name - I thought the Jumping Puzzle was called Deidre's Steps. But FYI, I was referring to this, in the same area: Hidden Garden (landmark) - Guild Wars 2 Wiki (GW2W)
  14. I can see it, yes and visit the area yes. But I can't farm it like those who completed the Collection / Gen:2+ way. I see what you and the others are saying. But these days I don't have that much time to pour in the game as I used to because of work. That's why it feels like "ugh, I spent all that time and I still missed out and now I gotta go through it again!" - but I see what you're saying, it is different and can be quite enjoyable. Still, I was interested to see if anyone else shared my point of view - don't ask, don't get and all that! Also, quite surprised how quickly responses came through. Forum is clearly quite active 🙂
  15. So its taken me some to suddenly realise this, and I would be keen to know if anyone else felt the same. I have two Legendary weapons, The Bifrost and Kudzu and I crafted them 'the old way' by gathering & earning enough resources/buying from Trading Post - before the new Collection system was announced/released and before Legendary Armoury. I liked the idea when Gen:2 Legendary weapons were released, to have collections to 'find out more' lore behind the weapons and to do things in stages instead of waiting on the RNG-Gods to bless you with a Precursor weapon drop. But, even though I have unlocked the above named Legendary Weapons, I haven't automatically completed the Collection(s) associated with them. Now, I understand to some respect, because its new content that me or other players could enjoy and as mentioned, learn more about the lore behind the weapons / find new fun ways to earn Legendary Weapons....BUT this means I have to repeat Bifrost and Kudzu even though I already have them. I know there will likely be some players out there constantly working on Legendary Weapons to sell on Trading Post for profits, or others who would not mind 'repeating the process' just to learn more about the weapon(s) - so I guess none of this matters to them. All I know, is that it took me AGES to craft The Bifrost and Kudzu and it comes bittersweet to know the Achievements Panel doesn't acknowledge that effort. Like I was thinking, maybe have descriptors over sections in the Collection, so that new and old players who have unlocked/completed the weapons already, only have to read the lore to 'catch-up' what was missed? I don't know. And I don't know / haven't heard what the other Collections give, but I heard Kudzu gives access to a 'Hidden Garden' at the jumping puzzle in Mount Maelstrom - which I can't use, because I didn't craft Kudzu the new Gen:2+ way. But maybe I'm alone? I understand there had to be drivers towards new content, new ways to craft Legendary weapons I get that. I just personally, don't have the time to craft multiple of the same Legendary Weapons I already unlocked - so like, it kinda bites to me. I also guess if only Kudzu had a 'special unlock', it wouldn't be so bad - but I am obviously biased as I unlocked Kudzu. To me its a little frustrating and annoying that I spent all that time and resources and I still missed out on Achievement Points towards it and / the 'Hidden Garden' unlock, to which I can only obtain now by essentially repeating the process. So anyway, I guess this post is a Suggestion - to see if post-rewards are possible in some way? I don't know how Anet would be able to differentiate though between those who actually crafted the old way, or who bought direct from Trading Post - and whether there should be a distinction of auto-unlocks? But I think that would probably be a separate thread on time spent/gold-paid debate where everyone plays and earns things however they want. Ideally I don't want to get into the latter. I just wanna suggest post-rewards (for me and anyone else who might've felt the same! :p)
