  1. Hmm, I've had it happen while also roleplaying. Was sitting in a seat at a table in the bar place in the Ossan District, Divinity's Reach. Had to take off a trinket and put it back on to get it to realize I was still in game, though I had been typing replies for a while.
  2. This event in Malchor's Leap has been bugged for me and a few others for a handful of days now. The escort, which consists of 10 NPCs, gets stuck on the terrain or stuck fighting never ending mob respawns just a bit south of Wren Waypoint. It is impossible solo, and was still unable to be completed with a small group. The main escort NPC just runs back and forth fighting while the others die to the endless mobs. eta: happening on IP 72 for me currently
  3. Did a past Extra Life event few years back. Won a gaming head set (Arctis 5) and a pack of games including base game, HoT, PoF, and GW1 (Nightfall and Factions, excluding Eye of the North). It was RNG on their Twitch stream where they shaved one guy's head during the event.
  4. I take breaks often, sometimes for up to a year, but I always come back because I have a core RP group filled with friends. Even if there were to be nothing to do in the main game, I could always enjoy a little RP.
  5. I much prefer GW2 to WoW but did want to answer some of these since I've played the other game recently (and let my sub lapse because it just didn't hold my interest like it used to). NoNo, much to the displeasure of most of the playerbase. Shaman class got hit even harder than before. Some classes do, but I played tanks mostly so I can't answer in depth.Unsure, since I hardly played support or healing classes.No. It got WORSE. The forums basically exploded when the GCD became more restrictive. As of Legion, yes. Finally. Made things much friendlier and people are less afraid to jump in and help out with mobs. Way more group oriented and casual friendly in that regard. You don't even have to group up to get credit for the mobs you attack together.Treadmill still activated! What I noticed is that a lot of QOL already found in GW2 has been added to WoW. Makes for a smoother experience, but it still wasn't enough to keep my sub, at least continuously.
  6. Either something absolutely horrifying (Gaping Dragon from Dark Souls?) or...some sort of bird/dinosaur/bat. A bat would be cute, with a little snub nose. Maybe a chicken or a bearded vulture for the more avian side.
  7. As someone who spends a majority of time in games roleplaying, I couldn't care less about what other people have so long as it fits in with the lore and aesthetics of my own characters. Most of the game's PvE/WvW/PvP could go away and I'd still log in to RP and customise stuff (though I do enjoy PvE, so I'd be spending MORE time in another game to fulfill that want). Heck, I have characters that don't have any lore or personality or what have you, but I still buy cosmetics for them to look neat when I log in to play them every so often. It means different things to different people. I know RPers are not the biggest group of players, but our reasons for working towards skins might simply be because it works for our little part of the story. Sure, you could write with others on things like Discord through text only, but it's fun when you can show your RP buddies almost exactly what your concepts look like in your head, on screen.
  8. I just posted this in another thread but I'll put it here as well for this OP:
  9. I had this exact same problem, except it was due to satellite internet latency. I had to lug my heavy desktop computer to a friend's house just to complete the hard difficulty catch game. I used every conceivable tip from others but it was actually impossible until I physically moved across town to a house with cable internet. Even with teleports on the lowest graphic settings with a glyph of speed, the speed boost mushrooms, and run speed booster, the latency itself made it so no matter what I tried, being in the circle wouldn't count. It's good to see ANet taking a look into the issue for players in similar situations; I was lucky it was just the connection and not my actual computer stopping me from getting the achievement! Best of luck to OP, by the way.
  10. I know this won't work for everyone, but I wasn't even getting error messages when trying to buy gems. Clicking 'accept' just brought me back to the beginning of the process. Support did......something to my account, and it was suddenly fixed. Definitely submit a ticket first and update your issue here if it's resolved/not resolved. I've heard it can be some sort of timeout between paypal/your bank and Digital River which support CAN'T fix for whatever reason (so far as I've seen from issues like this recently). In that case, I'd call Digital River and paypal/your bank to try and clear things up.
