  1. I mean.... GS4 literally blocks anything including Deimos pizza, you just have to practice the mechanics of the class. use GS or Archie/Vicky movement skills to evade stuff... you have loads of mobility regarding Scav Burst... you're supposed to build your gear to crit cap with fury, then use Scav to apply fury to yourself while running to mobs -> dodge slam them for 45% of dmg increase from traits -> GS5... with stamina sigil it's rinse and repeat for massive dps
  2. Well so far that I've seen only successful runs were with glider damage or raid composition that equals that dps to scratch glider and Anet didn't implement glider skills for no reason when they are unavailable everywhere else except few parts of game
  3. Actually I am Trap and reading this haha thanks for the great run, it was a pleasure with the whole squad and every each of you gave 120% which lead to success. Kudos to you all! Feel free to add me in game
  4. So after 3 days of constant trying at this meta I commanded a full squad and we cleared it with 1 minute left on timer. Only in-game chat, no voice coordination whatsoever. What really helped was viral spread of people mentality in map chat even during pre-meta who just went into beast mode and said to themselves "this is it, let's do this sheet done finally" I'm going to bold key tactics I used that brought success I was brainstorming with guildies and we were wondering why are Bloodstone glider skills available here and we realized it's the key to success as it deals IMMENSE dps on split phase minibosses - we hit 70K DPS with glider attacks!!! I set lfg - alac, barriers, mad dps and people joined stating their roles, I did 10 subs for boon efficiency and we prepped the map, while constantly calling events on map so everyone gets 10 stacks of buff plus reminding constantly to charge offensive and defensive protocols as they stack up to 90 minutes each. Before encounter I had everyone who unlocked jade bot wp set their wp on the platform in case of death they have one quick respawn immediately there. Also before fight I had everyone mount up so no one dies from first attack. Learning from that, I commanded my squad to have 5 people DEDICATED to gliding attacks per miniboss group as the attacks bring mad dps, cc and small aoe heals for people on the miniboss platform. it took around 30 secs for minibosses to clear and we got back to main arena. Same tactic is applied to tail phase - I had few people dedicated to jumping off platform, using jade bot height bump and catching the updraft to get above platform and nuke the fk out of that tail with glider. Tail melted within 10 secs. Main problem I saw in previous runs was people not realizing the tail hitbox stays at same place regardless of moving animation so they chased and stopped hitting it. Never chase a tail, stay on the spot and keep mashing those skills! During green circles I had Necros spam Epidemic and everyone who could spam stability. When she does her final attack you will see pretty visible arrow markers where she will blow from, simply hide behind crystals facing the arrows direction and no one dies. Same like pillars at Adina W7. Above all, it's mandatory to keep hyping people as a commander and constantly doing calls, reminders to refresh EMP's at waystations while also letting your squad know they CAN shout too to flood the local chat, map chat, squad chat so everyone notices there is something to be done like TAIL, CC, OUT (of orange). Phrases like LETS SLAP THAT SNEK HARD, GIVE ME ALL YOU GOT, GIVE ME ALL THAT DEEPS GUYS, GOGOGOGOGO really kept people focused, engaged, hyped and at the last 5% we had like 1:30 left on timer, CC phase came and breakbar melted, and whole chat went WE GOT THIS, GOGOGOGOGO, TUTEL HERE WE COME and bam, in 30 secs we cc'd, melted 5% and everyone got their tutel. Commander Trap
  5. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PmgAEZlZSMsTyjlSdMUijpSksSigJ/lesD-zRRYbhUjfOquqGCj+UtqqMvIhxfNUY0C-e use approximately this setup, you want to use Scav burst for fury then dodge into combat to proc the Vindicator traits for 25% damage buff and then cast the spear.. You deal right away 45% more dmg, then when mob hp drops below 50% you proc the eagle rune and deal 35% more dmg. make sure you dodge off cooldown, finish off the mobs with your dodge as stamina sigils refill your endurance immediately, use energy meld as well to refill the endurance and you'll always have that damage increase :)
  6. you can't come and be smart about it with "approximately 1.7sec animation" statement. You're not even certain about that and you base the whole calculation upon it. the expansion is live 5 days and you're already tryharding the numbers based off your own speculation. I know what numbers I put out with Vindicator in T4s, as any other player that actually knows the core class mechanics. about CC - staff 5 and Jade Winds break bars without any issue, greatsword puts chilled every hit, paired with quickness and Archemorus CC utility it constantly pressurizes the breakbar. Point missed also your statement that Rev doesn't have "a single dmg legend" speaks enough about your knowledge of the class. I guess Mallyx is a boonslave and Shiro is used in every power dps build because of immense pvp in raids, strikes and open world ganking.
  7. Invocation 2-3-3 -> perma 25 might, fiddling with gear combinations to get near crit cap Devastation 2-2-3 -> classic sustain and damage tuned into power Vindicator 1-3-1 -> pure dmg combination, when endurance not full you get +25% dmg and paired with Song of Arboreum you can proc the Forerunner of Death quite permanently as the skeleton of the build is dodge. basically I open in Viktor, use Tree Song, swap to Arch then use heal, Scav burst, dodge, Reaver's Rage, Sword 5, auto attack chain, sword 2 to add vulne for battle scars.. and keep dodging off CD
  8. Exactly that! Rev has answer for any situation possible and it's up to player to recognize and use where needed and most importantly WHEN needed. People got soooooo used to simple push skill - wait cd - push again they forgot how to balance actions, but as a GW1 vet I have energy management hardwired and it was easy for me to pick the class up and understand it since it arrived with HoT. I took the 2nd grandmaster in Invocation and honestly I can't spend the energy, it's always above 10 and I can't get that 75 on swap hahah so the 3rd grandmaster is better option for Vind. Also it's really important to know the majority of mob patterns to be able to be efficient as intended while planning actions ahead. If you're on EU feel free to msg me, I couldn't find anyone playing Vind to theorycraft and explore the class :)
  9. Revenant is not viable for everyone so just find something you enjoy in :)
  10. I have to disagree with you, Shiro/Archemorus does great deal of dmg and is viable. You just got something else than you hoped for and this is purely subjective
  11. Ofc that in a raid environment you'll go full berserk or min-max with crit cap as you have 2 healers taking care of buffs and heals... Majority of community aren't raiders but OW/PVP/WvW so it's still too early to give definite conclusions as no one learned to play any spec yet and it will take time. For the last part you said - I don't see other classes except weaver topping rev dps on both condi and power.
  12. I'll paste my response from another thread Honestly I don't see why the hate for the dodge mechanic. I have no issues handling the legends or dodge - currently running a hybrid cele/dragon armor with leadership runes (helm and gloves are cele, rings and accessories cele), the rest is dragon while weapons are greatsword and sword/sword (although I'll probably switch to hammer for ranged option and some KD's) with dragon stats, sigils of endurance and force. 2nd legend being shiro or jalis for cc or mad sustain. Soloing Canthan champs without any issues, dodge crits in range 25-45k, last night Volcanic and Chaos fracs were a joke - each kill replenishes dodge + you have access to energy meld for another dodge for that "oh kitten" moment if needed. So you can dodge and if your dodge doesn't finish a mob then use energy meld to finish a mob and guess what - another dodge available after kill! I was dodge-killing slugs in Volcanic like crazy, was more up in the air than using sword skills. Very fun spec to play, versatile, mobile.. Also another thing you guys keep saying is that there is no need to swap between legends and you're very wrong - Viktor gives you condi cleanse, dodge roll backwards to actually evade when needed, regen and heal. You can literally prebuff yourself before each fight with regen, pair it with battle scars, swap and use Archemorus heal when surrounded by mobs to stack might on yourself and on top of that use the utility to give yourself quick and fury - if you take invocation traits in order 2-2-3 you can expect some great constant crits. About mobility: you have greatsword leap, Viktor roll, Archemorus leap, two dodges (with energy meld) and if you take Shiro you have roll back and teleport to mob (just mark some other mob to move towards it), sword 5 skill - so those are 8 movement skills at your disposal. Plus don't forget sword 2 skill that you can use to dodge virtually any mechanics because you can't be hit in the animation. I don't think any class can top that mobility. Play with action cam or if not then turn off auto targeting and you can easily change directions of movement with skills . Bad situation? swap to Viktor, roll back, use greatsword leap to move further away, swap to Archemorus to leap even further away, swap to Shiro to use roll again... you get the pattern. Elite spear throw deals decent damage if you got high crit chance and condi ticks are a good passive dmg support with celestial hybrid that can tick the mobs to that % where you can kill them with your dodge and replenish the dodge again. You drop Archemorus spear, while it casts the throw you leap in the air and it'll either do dmg for you to finish off the mob or you will do most of dmg and spear will finish the mob and you get your endurance back for another dodge. Rev has always been a complex class to play due to energy management since to play good it requires you to memorize your legends, energy costs, calculate in advance your skills and I feel that Vindicator requires a deeper understanding of the class to be able to use it efficiently. If you only dabbled a bit in Revenant then you'll probably have a hard time with Vind. For me, it's great and I'm loving it - filled all my expectations and I look forward to working on my rotation and numbers after I get the mechanics fully. Take some time to learn, apply some of this I said and you'll transform your experience with this spec.
