  1. When purchasing the Path of Fire expansion and getting into GW2 I got the level 80 booster, and I knew using it would provide access to more high-tier content without granting the experience of many essential game Fundamentals and mechanics. However, the complete lack of any optional input was a let-down. I could understand that armor would be a generalized most suitable aspect, but I felt weapon setups should allow for at least one optional loadout. For example, allowing users to choose an axe/axe layout for a Warrior. If crafting were something that players could get an added boost to level up at least a few specializations so that the content players are entering and farming materials from could be used then it wouldn't be as much of an issue, you could work on crafting your own higher-tier weapons to use and customize, but that's not an option. Additionally, although it's nice that materials are shared between all characters on your account, another path of account-wide crafting leveling would provide for a better chance to reach the point where you can fully get your level 80 character into the equipment and build that fits the direction, you're planning with that character easier to get too. Boosting a character to level 80 is great to get to content where you can get into where the game really shines, it's the end-game content, but even just a few options or elements would make the experience much less complicated and improve the experience to a greater degree. I decided to level my first character normally to get the experience of certain elements and it did help me to a degree. but when I used the boost on another character that previous knowledge learned on the first shined a light on how much rebuilding would be necessary to get the character setup in a way that fits what direction I planned to go with them, and only being able to craft weapons of the lowest caliber for a new character that had completely different class restricted weapon options than my first, left me in a position where it was harder to succeed because I wasn't given the most elementary element that allowed for gameplay that suited me.Just one opinion from a relatively new player of GW2 but a longtime player of GW from its release to the final expansion, and recently returned and moved into GW1. I am glad the experience is new, and the experience has some similarities that feel nostalgic but overall, it's an entirely unique experience in most areas. I just feel the overall experience would benefit from this. Not only in story progression, but also as something that provides more encouragement to get involved with PvP, and WvW participation.Reaper IWP
  2. I am not normally someone who encourages forms of pay-to-win methodology, but I also understand that the cost of added content, game development, and regular game maintenance is something that requires funding like any business. So, if purchasing occasional gems and buying content helps fund continued GW2 progress then I don't mind and that is my choice, I understand not everyone has the resources or opinion to take this approach. I respect everyone's view on this topic. However, this topic is one that I Find has related relevancy with the concept of purchasable content that could provide enough of a bump in activity to boost to WvW & PvP activity that the game could benefit from. If players can pay for things like level boosters and other in-game boosters, then one specifically designed for arming players with necessary character content additions that place characters in a better place to begin the activity in PvP and WvW activities. The level 80 booster puts players in the position to work on progressing in the Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire expansions, but from the perspective of newer players who obtain the Path of Fire expansion that includes that level 80 booster item included, they are still in no position to get active in more extensive elements of the game. If they could acquire some form of content to improve on the level booster to get the equipment or some other utility to be fully prepared to get involved with activities like Fractals, Raids, and PvP type activity. More veteran players and members of the can make better suggestions on ways they can participate and not purely can participate and not be only dead weight. If a new player hasn't found a guild That's a good fit for them, Participation with the capacity to prevail will see a greater likelihood to be accepted or recruited increase. One idea I had (but not sure it would be the best solution) is to provide a crafting booster, the ability to craft equipment at the end game capacity would allow for better character equipment access that suits the individual players' build direction. My logic is that the level 80 booster gives players exotic gear but with no choice in the matter. I know any booster used by novice players lacking the experience to understand mechanics in-game is only going to be a partial solution a half-measure, but if the goal is to boost activity, then a half-measure can be the shot of adrenaline that is needed. Once more people get the chance to participate with a statistical level of improved success, they will at least get a taste and start moving towards a point where they will see participation as a goal to work towards. The boost in crafting will provide them with the access to start farming for the items to obtain the build goal to work towards, and farming resources to complete items for that build way will developing greater experience with in-game mechanics. One provides motivation for the other and in the end improves multiple areas of the game for everyone.Again, my idea is from a relative novice player that lacks the complete hypotheses a veteran player could provide but acknowledge that I'm hopeful it is something that a vet can improve upon. The resulting feedback of either improving on or dismissing will provide me with something to learn from. Thanks, and I hope I provided something useful in my essay, I am relearning summarization after having a traumatic brain injury. Lost the ability to summarize ideas Vs over-explain because of poor recognition of the aspects that are necessary to understand my statements and the unnecessary details. Thanks for understanding or just skipping! 3. Currently, I made a similar decision that you're considering, and I am happy with my decision. First, it doesn't matter if it's GW2 expansion or some other game, there is never a time where tech improvements don't have the potential to result in a game or something else new being released that we will want to experience, it just happens. Over time I have waited because something new was coming and by the time it got here, something even newer was coming in a cycle that prevents you from making the decision. Essentially, allowing a potential future variable to influence a fixed current variable that exists now. An enormous factor in my decision was Razer releasing a new 2021 lineup of Laptop, peripherals, and accessory products. The new 2021 Laptops come with the Nvidia RTX 30 series, Intel 10th Gen CPU's and have now reached the level of being considered "future-Ready" with the immediate option to upgrade ram, ssd, and gpu factors. I made a more detailed description of the new lineup, and what makes them "Future-Ready" below if anyone wants to know more. Or go to Razer.com To provide the quality of performance I am getting currently with my Razer system with 10th get I7, 16gb ram, 500gb SSD, and RTX 3070 (8gb Vram) with GW2 running at highest visual settings puts me at an average of 76 FPS, switching characters exiting & loading back in takes about 15-20 seconds at most and I am back playing. I have a bridged network connection, but it has options for both Ethernet connection and WIFI. I've played a wide variety of games at max visuals including Destiny 2 Beyond Light, LoL, DOTA2, Rainbow 6 Siege, Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries, Gears 5 (Gears of War), StarCraft 2 with all expansions, Elite Dangerous, and more but never had any issues with any performance problems except occasional server lag when playing a multiplayer. At this point, I haven't had any need to overclock anything or push past out of the box level settings. Just one direction to keep in mind, so that the options that are available today compared to the past, are much broader than many realize unless they are consistently involved with the tech industry both hardware and software. Hope it helps in some way.Good Luck,Reaper IWP What Makes it Future-Ready? -Even the basic Blade 15 and the rest of Razer's new laptop lineup come with an additional M.2 slot allowing for SSD upgrades internally increased to 2TB and it can be done incrementally. Adding a 1TB SSD to your open M.2 slot and then eventually replacing the SSD the system came with if you decide that's something you need.-Comes with 16GB RAM upgradeable to 64GB, using both slots, they don't do what some companies are doing now and soldering the RAM included into the system and leaving an open slot. When upgrading RAM best practice is that you use the same amoun6t of RAM for both slots (matching specs lets them run together more efficiently.) This still means you can immediately upgrade your system to 16GB RAM by adding 1gb to the open slot right away without a major hit to your wallet.-Razer's eGPU systems and Thunderbolt 4 dock, Razer released the original CORE eGPU for their systems before most non-techy individuals were aware that USB-C and Thunderbolt were both improvements but functionally much different range of use. Since the initial release, they have not only continued making new and more efficient CORE products but increased the number of resources that users would have access to with having Thunderbolt ports available. The primary benefit of the CORE system is that you can add a top-performing desktop GPU to your system and even when your current internal GPU has become the new budget level option, running the newest desktop GPU is still an option. If your someone who requires major graphics power right away, using the CORE to attach another RTX 30 series GPU allows you to run in SLI mode straight out the gate,I have had a long relationship with Razer products and that provided me a higher amount of confidence in their products but knowing I will have access to improved performance for the same amount of time as I had in the past between upgrading motherboards and doing nearly full new builds with desktops in the past, was a big selling point got me.
