  1. so did we use a lvl 80 boost and it's not going very well?
  2. can't relate, having permanently available stat selectable stuff on my characters is the peak gw2 experience. when the meta changes, you spend five minutes and zero gold selecting stats, and you're back to racking up another 1million chak kills.
  3. if you're a thief / ranger / mesmer, try to use stealth or big movement abilities. should be able to sneak through without a problem. if you can't, then party up, call out in map chat and get a few people to join you, should be enough to clear the mobs. the expac content does require reasonably good builds and exotic armor - preferably not the starter armor you get from the lvl 80 boost, a more current build with enough sustain / condi clear to get through the tougher spots.
  4. lol. the devs regularly make daily pve rewards appear in a low ranked map from time to time, this has happened for years. hasn't changed, and probably never will - thats some writing on the wall for you there. you've just kind of used some niche isolated incidents to support a generalized untrue set of claims here. i've been playing this game since it launched. the only new player zone that was very populated was the queensland champ train, which was absolutely amazing. I regularly create new characters for map completions, and do not see this niche griefing the 2 or 3 people in this thread think is a wide spread epidemic lol the other stuff you're talking about just sounds like you really can't stand other players having more power in the game than you or playing the same game as you.. maybe play single player games if it bothers you so much. very cool you had to come to rant, but i don't think anything needs to change in the game itself. You might try using a personal diary or blog from here on out.
  5. @ op i think that this should go on your personal blog, or in a diary. you should re-read what you just wrote here, after you've calmed down. it might sound good in your mind but it doesn't look good on paper. this is how basically every MMO and most computer games, and life, tend to work. some people have stuff that you don't. you snooze you lose. i really disagree with your points made and your claims. honestly if it's such a chore to play it's probably time for you to part ways with guild wars 2. the main reason i suggest that is because you've built all this legendary stuff and you're still not happy. there are players from 10 years ago that don't have those built yet. should you lose your legendaries because they're not happy that you have them and they don't? 🤣 - this is the kind of logic you're using right now. I'm just throwing this out there because i think you need to hear it - only you can make you happy, the devs won't be able to do that for you by updating guild wars 2.
  6. hello legendary equipment requirements should not be lowered just on the basis that you are struggling. everyone struggles the same way with legendary equipment. you are not alone, many have struggled in the same way. perhaps ask here about that specific task step. Legendary equipment is end-game content. this is not content that is meant for a new player. its something you can do with your 1000's of materials and massive bank storage. of course, if you are a dedicated ocd completionist, you will feel this pressure from day one, and i do sympathize. but there are coping strategies available. asking the developers to make the game 'easier' is not a valid coping strategy, but i guess the worst you will get is 'no' lol. as to the bug complaint - try to carefully list reproduction steps when making the report to support. hopefully that gets looked at if confirmed. -regards
  7. "that's so bitter of them to not enjoy my inappropriate conversation, they must be more easily annoyed"
  8. you're right. attempting to join a map that is full should create a mist barrier that deals insta death damage to your character. good idea op, i'll pass this along to the game director right away.
  9. good point! so it should not be called meteor shower anymore because it just doesn't have that impact anyways. maybe 'firey pebble rain' or perhaps 'mildly spicy rain'.
  10. welcome back. i'd say the most efficient gold per time spent is getting gems on the black lion tp, and trading them over to gold. failing that, grinding fractals has never let me down goldwise, and it doesn't require you to go all over hell's half acre to find stuff. however, running all over hell's half acre looting daily stuff, etc, is probably around 80-90 gph depending on your activity. failing that, the popular meta maps would be best. drizzlewood, silverwastes, kourna, dragonfall, dragon's end, etc. run the metas, do boss fights / world bosses/ swap maps before diminishing returns sets in, etc. sell the t6 mats, and other stuff. i'd also say to temper your expectations based on your achievement points / mf/goldfind %ages. the game coughs up rewards and gold a lot differently for a 0 achievement point player compared to a 30k achievement point player with a few years worth of monthly login bonuses. it's well worth your time doing story and achievement point completionism. you only need to do it once, and the reward stays with you.
  11. another way to do this is to find commanders that lead raids regularly on wvw. if you're willing to part with some gold, they will allow you to join the squad and share participation, you get credit for just being in wvw. its also an option. however, caveat with this, i haven't seen if the latest updates to the game affect this method or not. it used to work regardless of your faction alignment prior to the ...attempts at updating wvw recently. i do so deeply enjoy how gw2 provides alternate means to reach an objective through community interactions.
  12. i'll be honest with you, i hired a mesmer for a few of those, and used the skip item a couple times. i am jumping puzzle averse. EDIT hey dont judge me, instead of making a huge post and quitting i found a solution. go sass someone else =p
  13. so the last areas in orr feature enemies that apply a lot of conditions to you, so you will need to figure out your condition clearing skills / combo fields to survive that. elementalist has a lower hp value unless your condi armor has +vitality or +toughness, and a berserker warrior can be very glassy if you're not paying attention to the same stats so changing your stats / skills / traits would be required to be more conducive to your survival. and yes, if orr is killing you, heart of thorns is going to be excruciating. try using basic karma armors found in orr from the cathedral vendors that give +toughness or +vitality and one offensive stat (condition damage or power perhaps?), that will make the ride to heart of thorns easier. try to get at least exotic armor / accessories, and be able to withsttand the undead attacks in orr before moving to the next areas. the silverwastes will give you a good flavor for whats going to come next in heart of thorns. enemy spawns begin to scale with the number of players in the area, so if your stats are not in order, and you don't have stunbreak/condition removal, you are going to have a rough time. i first enjoyed (enjoyed is a strong word) heart of thorns as a totally berserker's stat elementalist, and i'm sure you could pave the entire path in verdant brink with just the corpses from my elementalist deaths. however, welcome back, level 80 is just the beginning now 😃
  14. you need to get to level 80, then start the PoF story. it was very clear to me when i got PoF at launch. you usually get a lvl 80 booster, so boost a character to 80, start pof story, do the first bit then you can buy the raptor saddle and have it unlocked for your main story character. mounts are account wide. if you must do things chronologically, well, thats your own journey. regards
  15. sometimes it's just best to give up. having a lot of equipment or a lot of time gaming does not mean you'll be good at guild wars 2. the workaround is learning to solo balth's champ in auric basin. if you can do that i think you can pretty much do anything.
  16. they just need to make the safe spots completely unsafe during boss time, and the problem is solved, you'll have to do the mechanics as intended, and not bypass the ice barrier. they could throw another 200k hp on the ice barrier though, that would draw out the time it takes to take down ole claw.
  17. get a 4+ button mouse. gw2 plays a lot better when you can bind stuff easily to both hands.
  18. anet: instructions unclear. permanently nerfing auric dust drop rates.
  19. excellent thread. i agree to all the previous, except make it all permanent, to reflect the class as perceived by the developers. Embrace the contempt.
  20. anet remembers when staff used to be good on elementalist too. and they're sending another nerf just to make sure.
  21. ok woah woah buddy slow it down. gw2 isn't a 'instant gratification' type game. you can't hand over money and acquire instant win. (yes you can buy legendaries if you want to spend enough money. No, you shouldn't do this.) gw2 is a slow burn adventure man. take it day by day, a couple hrs here and there. enjoy the process. most of the stuff you can buy on the gemstore isn't going to give you an advantage over a player that hasn't bought a single gem with a credit card, but has played for 10 years, done every achievement, and suceeded against each raidboss like 100 times each. so close your wallet. stop using your credit card. and take some time to actually enjoy the game. do what you want to do, and try to form a small community to do it with. obviously you like raiding. well, why dont you try leading the raid group? you might learn a lot more being in the hot seat and shot calling.' keep trying. its ok to feel frustration but dont let it dominate your thinking.
