I'll take a crack at it too for fun. Thematically. NOTE for them if they care: In "serious" pve content, gameplay is melee 95% of the time so if you're a melee only person like me dont worry about 'casters' that does not exist here. And you rarely ever have to stand still to do anything Warrior: It's the warrior Uniqueness of warrior in GW2: warhorn/rifle/bow/torch/banners/healingMost common weapon(s): axe Guardian: It's a paladin but blue colors Uniqueness in GW2: blue fire, trapsMost common weapon(s): sceptre/greatsword Revenant: Think of the anti-paladin archetype like a darkknight or deathknight or whatever except instead of having 10/10 points in defense it put more points into agility and wisdom Uniqueness in GW2: It's more like a mystic heavily armored monk that talks to dead people in it's mind than a necromantic shadow warrior. You can go from channeling someone like Ghandi to Diablo in a single button press. HAS A RANGED HAMMER WEAPONMost common weapon(s): sword/staff Ranger: Its a hunter but can be melee as well as ranged, has a pet Uniqueness in GW2: Healing/Buffing, mid combat pet swappingMost common weapon(s): Longbow/Greatsword (staff when supporting) Thief: It's the rogue, except it can also be wukong or a sniper or a double pistol shooty shooter. Uniqueness in GW2: You steal items from people that you can use as skills in combat/guns and bows. Most common weapon(s): Staff/Dagger/Rifle Engineer: This is a pretty unique one, It's like iron man without post-modern technology. Has kits that are extra weapons you can pull out mid-fight but without visual customization options. Swing with your sword, pull out grenades, toss a few, back to sword, ect. Uniqueness in GW2: yes. Most common weapon(s): Sword/Hammer/Rifle Mesmer: Another unqiue one. Temporary Clones that either do big damage themselves or get bursted for damage or utility effects. Melee magical swordplay with some range. Pink and purple pretty butterflies. Uniqueness in GW2: RANGED GREATSWORDMost common weapon(s): Sword/Greatsword/Focus (offhand thing) Elementalist: It's this games mage class except it's like the avatar and swaps elements a lot. Uniqueness in GW2: Element swapping, you get a ton of skills at onceMost common weapon(s): Sword/Sceptor/Staff Necromancer: It's the dark caster class except it's also the deathknight in cloth armor Uniquness in GW2: tanky as a cloth class, ranged and melee weapons. RANGED AXE. HEALS TOOMost common weapon(s): Axe/Staff/Greatsword

What do you want to see in season 5?
Tiger.9786 replied to Chingalling.1208's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Similar to what others have said: A third major challenging pve mode different from raids/fractals. Or at least breathe new life into raids or fractals (On the reddit someone showed an idea for different difficulties for raids similar to fractals, wont be hard to find) And new elite specs, or just anything new if elite specs are too much for right now. Like a new system entirely. "With the wake up of dragon bubbles we have all grown proficient with landspears!" Not likely, or even a good idea. But SOMETHING. Kinda like how in wow legion every class/spec got a new super weapon with a new additional "elite skill". Also a fan of Cantha but fine with whatever. Slong as it feels new -

Doing the most challenging/prestigious task first when you can't decide is probably a pretty safe bet if you feel up for it. So find a big ol friendly raid training guild and hop in. With the experience you gain from completing the raids coupled with the time that passes you will likely figure out/narrow down which armor weight you want first among other things. Just my 2 cents you could have a wildly different experience! -
I believe that if classic succeeds it would only draw about 5-10% of this game's playerbase away. With optimistic thinking whatever new content Anet reveals to us in the future will make up for that loss. For those who don't understand the appeal of classic in current day: Some people just wanna go on slowpaced adventures. There will be casuals in classic too, it's not all hardcore 40man endgame raiding like a lot of people point out. Many will take their time chiseling their stones in a vertical fashion opposed to this games horizontal fashion. Tomatoe Tamatto

Idea: Rotating Open World Nightmare mode mist/storm

I would love something like this. Another challenging pve gameplay option. How I see it we have 2 options: Raids, Fractals. All fine and good but they are on daily and weekly timers for their full rewards.I think adding in a third game mode that is a challenging alternative to zerg gold farming would be a great addition to the game. Of coarse it would have to be balanced in gold per hour so that the game can stay in it's niche of, "a game for all", for lack of better words. I love this game and it's combat system. As a semi-casual I'd highly enjoy grinding content that keeps me on my toes (with decent fps) in the same way I used to farm istan in zergs for gold. Personally I would like unique skins, titles, and achievements from it. I realize this could cause an upset due to the content being inaccessible for the casual crowd but a possible solution could be friendly team play. For example me and my girlfriend are T4 fractal vets and don't mind at all carrying people through. This new content could be just like that for helping other's obtain its cosmetics and achievements but when done at an optimal pace all those involved gain gold comparable to zerg farming metas. I'm thinking 1-3 player content. But I digress. I like your open world challenge idea too. Maybe add a de-buff when more than 5-10 players gather to decentivize zerging and have things going on everywhere on the map to make up for it. (Was old verdant brink like that? Hard to remember. If there wasn't a zerging factor and it was actually challenging disregard that idea). There must be a sweetspot where hardcores and casuals alike can be like "Hey that new gamemodes pretty goooood". Even if one type does it more than the other. Edit: I realize my response is more like my own idea and start of a thread than a response to your idea. This topic has been on my mind and I got carried away. Regardless, just look at it like an addition and lovenote to the general idea I guess. lol
