Phasma Phasmatis.4305's Achievements

  1. Roller Beetle Skritt in a Hamster Ball with a shiny on a fishing pole dangling in front of them. Roller Beetle giant Choya that rolls up to roll.
  2. Yeah some are tied in with Malandru, some are former druids, and some are just ambient creatures native to Tyria. I doubt the pinesouls, oakhearts, and other treants are his creations in anyway, they are too passive and the few evil ones we face have been corrupted by Mordy or the nightmare court. Jacaranda, Iboga, and Choya don't appear to be related to mordy in any way either. Soo-wan reveals that Echovald was Modremoth's first garden where he honed his craft, thus the huge trees like in the heart of Mordy's domains. Based on events, ambient dialog and lore drops in the regions the Wardens and Forever trees may be some of his first creations as the Sylvari feel a kinship with them. The Juggernauts also appear to have been made by tapping into his magic similar to how the Charr tapped into Jormags for the frost legion. None of that's 100% confirmed though. Edit: Would love some fractals or Eye of the north vision type missions set back in Cantha during the early days of Soo-wan and her children, before they turned evil, to see firsthand how stuff like the creation of Echovald came to pass.
  3. The Pale tree, and presumably other Modremoth trees like Malyk's, grows Sylvari and Modrem like a normal tree would grow fruit when the tree reaches adulthood, and it takes a long time to do so since it uses minerals and other environmental resources in the ground, like a normal tree, to do so. Modrem were grown in Modrem pods, Sylvari were grown in the pale trees pods. The trees provide the material to grow the creatures like a real life tree would grow its fruit by sucking up matter through its roots and converting sunlight into fuel. It was very efficient materials wise but very inefficient in time way to make minions but to an Elder Dragon time wasn't that big of an issue. They were no corpses needed but theoretically could have had some minerals from the dead end up in them just like some minerals from a dead worm could have been sucked up by a growing apple tree through its roots and eventually end up in an apple that you eat. Dead organic matter would just be fertilizer to the Pale and Modrem trees. When Zhaitan was killed his death magic flowed into Modremoth and the other Elder dragons, this gave Modremoth the ability to turn corpses into minions like Zhaitan could. Modremoth converted his Modrem making trees in the Heart of Magumma into blighting trees/towers that had blighting pods (instead of Modrem pods) that could have dead creatures placed inside that would then have plant matter grown over them to create faster minions without free will. So instead of pumping out Modrem with Modrem pods the trees pump out Husks with blighting pods. He attempted to do the same to the Pale Tree with the Shadow of the Dragon in season 2 but was stopped. Basically Modremoth switched from growing apple trees and harvesting the fruit once a season, to shoving dead flies into Venus fly traps and pitcher plants that reanimated the dead flies with plant magic combined with death magic, thus creatures made up of plants grown over reanimated skeletons and corpses with very little mind of their own, since they were undead. Edit: You can see the difference in creature makeup between creatures created before and after Zhaitan's death in game. Sylvari, Fern Hounds, preseason 2 Modrem, Shadow of the Dragon, even some stuff in Echovald Wilds (Modremoths original garden) and other Modremoth minions consist entirely of plant matter. Skeletons made up of branches, muscles made up of vines, hair of leaves, skin of bark etc... Modremoth imitated animals and humans by growing plants in a very time consuming fashion. Sylvari, Fern Hounds, Modrem, and the Shadow of the Dragon are entirely plant matter. Post Zhaitan's death Modremoth can use Zhaitan's death magic combined with his plant magic to use dead matter to replace the parts that were very time consuming to grow. Plant matter is grown over the dead creature to replace parts that were damaged when it was killed. Thus branch based skeletons are now made up of bone based skeletons, vines intertwine with dead tissue to repair muscle, bark replaces damaged skin, etc... . The zombified creature is patched with plant matter to make it stronger. The easiest to see the difference in minion construction is by comparing Fern Hounds to Modrem Wolves, these are basically the same minion, Fern Hounds are grown entirely with plant magic and modrem hounds are created with plant+death magic.
  4. Same, Skrittsburgh's server is horrendously balanced. Skrittsburgh is consistently 1000+ behind Griffonfall and 500+ behind Seven Pines on skirmish score at all times of the day, the active population of the other two servers is just insane compared to Skrittsburgh's. Playing on Skrittsburgh feels like you are a tier 3 or 4 server just providing content to two tier 1 Maguuma servers lol. Its just constantly 2 50 man blobs coming at the equivalent of a 15 man PPT squad.
  5. I was hoping to work toward skirmish tickets during this beta but my shards server balancing is just awful, Skrittsburgh is basically a tier 4 balanced server population against 2 Mag level servers. Its killed my desire to play for the week as 2 blobs vs a server consisting mainly of roamers is not a fun time. Its not fun when your server is just bags and content for the other two servers to farm. Also none of my friends ended up on my shard thanks to the guild placement bug again. Its just sad at this point. Just remove the gem store cost for server switching from the game and only allow 1 transfer a week and the community will fix the balance for you without the alliance system in a couple weeks Anet.
  6. The balancing is horrendous on Griffonfall, Skrittsburgh, and Seven Pines WvW server. Griffonfall has Maguuma server levels of population at all times, Seven Pines is veryy actrive and Skrittsburgh has horrendously low active population at all times of day compared to the other two. In the current skirmish scores are Griffonfalls at 2,455. Seven Pines is at 1,822 and Skrittsburgh is at 1,267. Seven Pines and Griffonfall are just running all over Skrittsburgh. Skrittsburgh should not be in this pairing at all, its horrendously balanced and is killing this weeks WvW fun for Skrittsburgh players. If this is the future of Wvw don't do alliances, at least with the current system tier 4 population servers aren't being pitted against tier 1s.
  7. On Light armor, not sure about other weights, when equipping the Wiinterday snow boots and choosing their dyes with any gloves equipped causes gloves and boots colors to bug. Stuff like hand prints appearing on the fur of the boots, half the fur to dye a completely different color from the rest, the boots straps to become reflective silver, gloves shifting colors in geometric shapes and other weird appearance changes based on the dye space you use. Tested on a Sylvari character not sure about other races.
  8. Make sure you are on chapter 12 and they appear. If you go to final chapter they vanish from map. Replay chapter 12 talk to npcs in first story instance and they will reappear in map if you already finished story.
  9. Same issue. Doing the repair game client troubleshooting step doesn't help either as the repair gives the 0% downloading screen as well.
  10. Prepaid cards usually have a activation fee at the store of $3-5, Amazon and Steam cards have no activation fee.
  11. Simple enough, I had enough gift card money on amazon, that I got as a gift earlier in the year, that covered the full price of the expansion. Another valid reason is some people don't have credit cards. Someone like a teenager without a credit card can take their saved up cash down to their local general store or gas station, pick up a 3 pack of $10 amazon cards or load $28 dollars onto the $25-500 custom amount cards and then buy the expansion from amazon. A lot of people still deal in cash and being able to get a card at a local store for cash that you can use digitally is a godsend to those without credit cards and for parents that want to buy their kid the game but don't want their credit card or bank info on their child's account.
  12. You have to do the Relic event with Livia. After the relic event she will spawn in platforms that must be defended to trigger the Avatar event. The platforms will take you to the Avatar event just follow Livia when they land. If the platforms are all destroyed the event won't trigger and you will have to wait and do relic event again.
  13. Why would the topic be against TOS Amazon.com is an official retailer of Guild Wars 2 products? The topic was asking when the expansion would be available to purchase on an Official Retailer website like all past expansions are. Edit: Post questioning if this topic was against TOS was deleted.
