  1. Lot of MMOs put out annual repeatable content year after year with little to no change as its cheap, easy, low dev resource content to literally flick a switch and hey presto another 3 weeks of "filler content" done and dusted. Bemuses the player base for a short time, simultaneously chuck a ton of thematic cash shop items in the mix to maximise revenue. It's certainly not a major focus for the software company, and certainly not something they want to waste valuable dev or marketing resources on when it's largely old, repeatable content that most vet players see it for what it actually is "$$$ rinse and repeat strategy $$$" It's a win-win for Anet:Minimise company expenditure (look at the bare minimum of implementation changes they made from last year, few new minis, skins, some kitten fugly chain weapon set: literally bare minimum effort to code), as per usual fill gemstore with the usual Halloween annual rotation stuff, *guides the hands* into the pockets of all the impulsive purchasers to part with their gems swept along with the *Festivities of Halloween!!! *, good business acumen if you ask me!!! πŸ˜‰
  2. Hmm I don't necessarily think it's an issue of laziness, maybe for some but you can't tarnish the whole player base with that same mantra. I've worked my socks off in the game modes I enjoy to acquire all my Legendaries, I love WvW thus Conflux, Warbringer are a piece of cake for me, I just naturally accrue the currency overtime playing a game mode I enjoy. I'm kinda the minority ikr, as I love the effect of the Legendary Trinkets sets (it's the balls you know!), whereas I think 99% of playerbase disable them. Still I don't have Coalescence 😒...... ...... which is a thorn in my side but I totally hate and deteste Raids: I find them absolute utter garbage boredom, just learn mechanics of Raid Boss, spam your rotation like a bot, takes too long to collectively find a group or wait for players to join, and then oh you got that 1 dude that starts the Raid then says sorry I g2g and logs or another dude that DCs constantly or a TOXIC Com that barks at everyone like a Dog. I've zero patience for this kitten, so not going to put myself through a game-mode that I definitely wouldn't be lazy to play IF ONLY I actually enjoyed it. Ergo it's not about laziness.
  3. Very well said, right on point, and finally someone with a sense of homour @Weindrasi.3805 A funny IRL tale: For years being a manly man type irl on a Sat nite out with the lads I'd only wear a blue, black, gray shirt etc out on the town, but as I got older I started rocking pink shirts around the town and the difference in reaction with the ladies I got was huge. Lost count of the number of times women said to me "Takes a real man to wear pink!" - Kitten I felt uncomfortable at first wearing pink and the lads gave me stick for it, but they soon shut up when they saw the effect it had, and lads being lads "Sheepy copycats" all started buying pink shirts too 😜ergo Pink became our new Black πŸ˜‰ ...... but I never went so far as to wear a Maid's Outfit on a night out, but never say never πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ YOLO
  4. LOL really??? : You're talking about Anet making changes to a Meta from Heart of Thorns Expansion launched almost 7 years ago: 23rd October 2015. Chances of Anet caring or doing anything about this after 7 years are between none and Jack, and Jack just left town! Pro-tip: Just don't do the TD Meta πŸ‘
  5. .... Lol at all the interest and comments in this thread. Hasn't this topic already been discussed to death on forum over and over already, yet here we all are againπŸ€£πŸ˜‚ πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ @kharmin.7683where are you when we need you with your OP use search function post!
  6. πŸ˜‰My ultimate FREE guide on how to avoid special particle effect pollution: 1. Put all your settings on LOWEST 2. Turn off post processing 3. Do NOT go to any Metas: Period 4. Do NOT log on during peak player periods 5. Do NOT go on any busy player map:EVER 6. Use F.lux tool (dimmer) to reduce your visual display brightness 7. ALWAYS play wearing sunglasses, preferably a good quality brand 8. Stay away from any other Gw2 player 9.NEVER ever go to any of the main cities 10. NEVER go to Lion's Arch 11. Do NOT buy mistlock sanctuary VIP Pass but if you have NEVER use it 12. Stay away from any of the annual Festivals 13. Play solo instance content as much as you can (storyline, dungeons, T1 fractals) 14. Play during off-peak player times
  7. Thing is this is nothing new, it's the same everywhere in any other online game and just about everywhere IRL too. Policing it 24/7 is another matter. What do you want Anet to do exactly? Have an online moderator logged 24/7 on every map and every instance? Policing MMO's is heavily reliant on genuine decent players submitting reports to the game moderator. You can't be bothered to report, then don't expect things to change lol Abusive comments, insults, verbal harassment plain and simple should not be tolerated in anyway, shape and form and imo should be permanent bannable offences. The vast majority of players just don't give these types of player's the light of day: Screenshot, report, block, move on. If you find another player's comments breaches Gw2's T&C's, and it bothers you that much to do something about it then do something about it. It takes seconds. Screenshot everything they say with their username included, report and Anet will take zero tolerance approach. It's fast and easy to take screens, add them as attachments using the GW2 forum support page. Once you've reported one player, the next 100 are easy πŸ˜‰
  8. And that comment fine Sir gave me the biggest laugh of my day! - Golly my IRL is so rock n roll that this is the case lmfao
  9. @Crono.4197 you know something buddy people complain the world over, over literally everything and ofc that's their choice & perogative. The best 5 STAR Rated Restaurant in the world will ALWAYS have someone that complains, and you know what if they are a customer they have the right to do so, albeit the likelihood the very vast majority of diners will leave positive reviews, why even make an issue of the ones that complain? Same in GW2 why even make a thread regarding this, when ofc a certain sector of players will complain, always complain, "glass in life is always half-empty types" , and yes its their given right to complain and Anet can either deal with the complaints accordingly as best they can as a company or choose to ignore them :That's Anet's gain or Anet's loss. Personally speaking: Do I let other players complaining affect my own personal gaming experience? Kitten NO I couldn't care less!!! But equally neither do I have the right to preach or judge to other players whether they should complain or not, as we're all individuals, perceive things differently, enjoy or hate different things. Let gamers game, forum warriors be forum warriors, let complainers be complainers, let filthy casuals be filthy casuals and toxic elitists be toxic elitists: How and why do I think like this......? . . . It's taken me many years, and one of the best things I ever did tbh, but I've learnt to value one word in how I feel about other fellow gamers: ACCEPTANCE
  10. +1 Really needs posting again. It's really not difficult or confusing whatsoever. Actual reason as per normal these days: "Can't be bothered to go to GW2 home page to read anything, will whine on forum instead"
  11. MVP post in this thread. Right on point Mr @Randulf.7614 πŸ™‚ NB: Very first thing after patch I did when I got in game was change my keybinds around QE to AD and AD to QE, takes 2 seconds to do, no biggie but really is beyond me why Anet think this was a good idea to change when majority of playerbase were happy with as it was!?!
  12. Oh I agree absolutely with this. I literally spent all of 5 mins trying to embrace fishing when it landed with EoD, but I'm sorry to say it has zero appeal. I find it totally mind numbing, nor do I wish for player housing, I feel it would be another non-feature.
  13. Yes most definitely. My main reason for using the primary dps meter that a large % of Gw2 players use was born out of this single scenario >>> 1) initially in 2012 made Ele as my 1st and only char, needless to say couldn't get to grips with it, got kicked from squads/groups a lot as *my DPS wasn't upto par* so caused me to quit for 5 years. 2) Came back 5 years later, did a little profession research looking for a profession that's easy to play, can manage well solo and group play, so made Reaper as I figured it's a no-brainer to play, viable in most game modes, fits most game modes, albeit master of none! 3) Deciding on Reaper I watched loads of Holts YouTube (guy is a legend imo) and formed my build, 1st full set asc gear around a roaming WvW Repear Build as I love WvW. 4) Then without thought hurr-durr (my bad ikr as my entire build/ gear was optimised for solo WvW roaming ) entered fractals, ranked up to Tier 4 in break-net speed and got insta kicked, without warning several times which perplexed me completely as I knew all mechanics well. 5) So I whispered or sent PM's to the dudes that had kicked me asking what I'd done wrong and they all replied along the lines "your DPS is too low", "your DPS sucks dude", "I'm playing support and my DPS is better than yours" - You get the picture! 6) I didn't even know DPS meters existed at that point, let alone other players could monitor my own DPS - when I learnt that pretty much all players in Fractals and Raids use a third party DPS tool, my first thought was Gw2 needs to make an in-house meter to avoid the trap I fell into. 7) Anyways I thanked the guys that had kicked me for their opinion and reason why they had kicked me and because of that I... 😎Installed DPS meter myself 9) Reworked all my weapons, gear, runes, sigils, traits, build purposefully for fractals 10) RAID golem solo practice constantly watching the DPS meter numbers until I was happy : this actually helped me develop my key & mouse bind muscle memory really quickly (really not hard on reaper ikr lol, but when you're a fresh returning noob it's a must) 11) Jumped back into Fractals, and very quickly once I was watching the other players DPS I made a CFB a few weeks later, and decided Reaper not optimal enough for CM's so never returned to Fracs with it 12)... FFWD 5 years later of CFB in Fracs, I've never once been kicked (neither have I ever kicked another player due to low DPS, just given them constructive criticism), and most of the time I'm top 1 or 2 DPS which really only came about from having the DPS meter in the first place, theory crafting different builds, hours spent monitoring different builds on Raid Golems. TLDR: I turned a negative situation, well many, from being kicked many times from groups into a positive that is the Holy Grail in group content: DPS Meter. @Anet: It's a little beyond me why you haven't already implemented an in-house DPS meter that players can freely enable OR disable as they see fit, to avoid the scenario that I went through.
