  1. It all comes down to what content you want to play, to the efficiency and the needed role. In WvW, unless we talk about small scale fights for fun with your friends, the meta has specific builds (only for some classes and specs) that will help the most your allies. You can find more about these in https://gw2mists.com/builds While the same stands for PvE raids - for tanking bosses, the freedom there is a bit higher as your toughness can be adjusted and also the class and the build depends on the needed role (if the squad needs quickness, alacrity etc) and noone will care much so long you stay alive, do the mechanics, give the needed boons and heals, with chrono, fb, herald as Chyro wrote being the most popular. For open world, for events, rifts, hero points, fun etc you can pretty much use any class you want as all of them can have a somewhat playable healtank version. Necro in general, cant utilize other specs except scourge as healer, as only scourge has support traits, while engineer can be used either as heal tank mechanist or scrapper in pve - open world. Warrior could be used in theory with all 3 specs using staff, (with berserker being maybe the most practical) , ranger mainly using druid and thief as specter
  2. There are many possible builds that you can use for these 3 classes. Also builds can be slightly adjusted depending on the hero point as some might need a bit more stability or stun breaks, reflects, condi cleanses etc. Depending on your exp level, your skill ingame and your overall perfomance in general, you can min max a build to get the most out of it (in that case you can check Lord Hizen youtube channel), create something kinda more forgiving or go full sustain. Then it is also a matter of taste as some people like playing only power or only condi which can add/remove possible weapons for use. Range or melee as well. As I dont know if you meant core builds for these classes (in case you dont have any elite spec for them yet), below I post a link from a sustain example of Revenant, with many passive healing, barriers and boons. It has tools for projectiles, for perma stability, for big instant heals on 2 seconds cooldown, condi cleanses, good cc but low damage.   3. - Stop the trolls with merchants/portals by making it impossible to spawn either over any other object - Ban gradually serial afkers in pvp - Remove any kind of gambling from the game - Add a setting to get only gold and no other good or poopie loot (but less gold on that way) - Improve UI and make it fully customisable - Update LFG - Create and allow spectate mode for raids/wvw/pvp/fractals. - 1 vs all capture the flag and/or battle royale pvp - Ingame arc dps with player consent to share or not ther performance with others - AI bots for fractals/dungeons (even slow ones and/or with less loot) - Stop changing the way a spec works for balance purposes. Warrior gives quick on banners that can be picked up, warrior gives quick on banners that cannot be picked up, warrior gives quick using a burst, scrapper with wells or scrapper with combo field, specter with wells or with shroud, firebrand f1 tome recharge, tomes regeneration and etc. - Give quarterly (?) the ability to fully accesss the game as beta characters could for example during beta test before Eod (with gear in inventory), for 1 weekend, through steam and only for once per steam account. - Have community polls to decide for topics as cele in wvw or not , inspect gear or not and etc - Update character customization with more hairstyles, tattoos, faces bla bla - Update the given packages for purchace to include SotO and adjust the value. Do something with living world to be included in all packages. - Player housing or at least movable nodes. - Force the dev that put those pages inside the chest mini rooms in south drizzlewoods to participate weekly in one activity - Force the dev that put daily acitivity in WV to participate daily in one activity 😘 😘 - Add a setting to cancel infusion effects of others and/or more graphic settings about contrast/coulours? - Make crafting a bit more widely proffitable when it comes to options (maybe add more timegated stuff?) - Fix fishing to be relaxing and not to have to sail around and to get trolled by the green bar that randomly spikes. - Update the merch store products. Give us options to buy our character model, more t-shirts, posters, decoration etc - Calculate and if possible give the option to purchace a QoL battle pass which gives all the equipment and build templates, all the bag slots and etc (any that affects the actual direct game experience). If the pass will not be renewed the said functions return to the original state. Or a bit more antigatcha, remove them totally from gem store, make them widely and from the start available and implement a battle pass to give new premium outfits with perma transmog, unique tonics, outfits, emotes, access and use of a new race, unique titles, access to all lounges and other small stuff - Promote/share/upload funny videos of players in game on X, Steam, etc. - See if possible to change maps without loading screen - Make another way to get legy weapons insteaed of repeating world completion - Make at least a type of legy armor purchasable on the TP - Give us the option to complete a story with ingame gold/battle pass/gems/ 1k obsidian shards - Allign the reset of stuffs in the game. Weeklies in wvw, WV's weeklies, (other too but not wvw related) reset later than weekly wvw match up. - Give the option to have both pve/pvp/wvw dailies, weeklies and specials and more options inWV. Similar to the old style of dailies achievements can be combined no matter the game mode. - File for bankruptcy ^^'
  4. when it comes to the mechanic cancelaton, I checked Herald's and Warrior's healing skill (defiant stance) and it can tank the damage of the green if timed well. Also, while I was not near the boss It looked like others would get the next round of greens instead of me but for that Im not sure. Kinda confused not gonna lie and I dont know if its the same green mechanic, but at some bosses there is a special action button that you can use against this attack and also, during story that I tried, there was also a green mechanic that if timed good could be dodged with 0 damage taken. Not sure which is what, if all those 3 greens are the same, why in some bosses there is SAC and yeah I also wiped 3 persons because i thought that greens should be shared ^^'
  5. Where did I imply that everything that is harmful should be forbidden and much more, forbidden horizontically/to everyone? What I wrote and you didint want to understand is that there are positives and negatives as with everything in life. Thats why I gave the example of phones vs gambling. And yes, thats why some countries taxing (flat) higher sugar based products, that's why doctors tend to not suggest too much red meat consumption, thats why partents -should- limit the usage of social media on kids and etc. I will not engage in a witch hunt with you trying to answer you and solve world's every harmful thing in gw2 forums. This post origianlly was and is about gambling, inside a game. That includes kids. And as that isnt enough for you or is less important than the "freedom" you saying you represent, how about the freedom of the kids of the persons that are gamblers? Do the kids of a gambler, that gambled away the money purposed for their milk, are self determined enough? Who is going to pay the note for the "freedom" of such a "free" person that will end up in streets? So even if you find compassion harmful because somehow you connected it to a nation's policy, try rational thinking. That isn't harmful either. I will end it here only by saying this: 9/10 times in life, the common good, the community wellbeing, safety and care alligns with your personal long term interests and so with your ability to be free.
  6. Finding a guild that fits you can be tough especially if we are talking about only one. There are growing guilds that have a core and wanna get bigger and have fun but then real life happens, people quit, taking break etc and the members of such guilds end up in a dead enviroment. There are also guilds that while are medium sized and leveled up, arent well organized nor focusing on bringing everyone together but rather hosting everyone and offer a home. There are guilds that wanna include everyone but dont have the needed persons (like raid trainers) to make it happen. There are guilds that the major focus is to level up and milk their members. Guilds for high end play. Guilds for casual play (which means rare activites), guilds just for wvw, for pvp or guilds that are more thematic like race guilds, art and etc. So yeah, you can get "lost" or forgotten kinda easy but deciding yourself what kind of content you wanna play and how frequently you want to play with your guildies, will help you a lot to find a proper one. You might as well join 1 for wvw/pvp 1 for raids/trainings, 1 thematic, 1 growing or big. You can check the "looking for guild" sections in the forum and in the official gw2 discord or even on reddit. It could help also to say what level of experience you have and ask if there are any groups/trainings or at least other members at your level to do stuff with. There are many guilds that are good, active and organized with a good discord with people talking almost 24/7, posting memes, nsfw and etc. Don't give up and keep trying 🙂 And/or you can even start your own guild (takes time to get people+level it up) Regarding the game itself, things you could do is to try other classes/specilizations/builds, try other content like raids/fractals/strikes/meta events/farm trains/wvw/pvp and/or fashion wars. This game is huge and offers so many styles of play that is really up to you and what you like.
  7. Aknowledging that there are many harmful things in our life doesnt make them less harmful because there are lots of them. Nor it means that we should feel alright with them or much more to defend them. Absense of proper and updated regulations or breaking of these surely happens in many sectors. With phones producing more radiation than its announced, with cars producing more emissions, with apps using "legally" or illegally personal data and etc. And as one shouldnt like their kid getting more than the allowed radiation, breathing higher than the allowed emissions or having their data being used for whatever reason, one shouldn't like gambling either. And if a phone can offer someone education, be a work tool or whatever other functional purpose, gambling doesnt offer that. Its there just for "fun" or to be more accurate just to take your money. Even money that you dont have. That doesnt mean that said phones are less harmful but that they just need proper regulation or higher and more strict penalties for breaking of the laws. While gambling, especially inside a game, with kids, vulnerable personalities and already addicted gamblers shouldnt even exist. Compassion is something that isnt't harmful.

I will asume that you meant to remove ecto gambling and not the gamblers themselves and so I would like to say that I trully admire people going out of their way to think, to care and to worry about others rather than themselves and their ego. On the other hand it makes me sad to see people defending something harmful (scientifically proven) both for their personal interests and for others (vulnerable or not, kids or not, addicted or not). Truth is that recently, anet limited -by themselves- the allowed ectogambling per week (if im correct). But I would agree with you that it is still bad and that there are many ways to gamble away your gold and/or real money. Having that in mind one shouldn't recommend gw2 as a game (and i dont mean that other games are angelic, gamble free and should be recommended instead). Otherwise, what goes around comes around...
  10. Not sure if there is any enviroment (in pve) that you can do that. Personally, when it comes to testing and mostly for boon duration, healing scaling and final stats, I use the: gw2skills.net/editor/gw2 . Going there you just put the gear you want, the runes and sigils, choose the build and then hovering over your skills will show you the said info.
  11. Hi/Uwu To all the people complaining about the lack of new specs in the new expansion, I would say that the criticism is somewhat valid. Though, on the other hand, this game is already, insansly HUGE. Personally I wouldnt want 9 new specs, especially so fast after we got the last 9, as the game (balance wise) the community (returning players or new) and myself, still adjusting/trying/mastering those we got with EOD. I will assume that you want new players to come to this game and to also not give up shortly after. And I believe that you understand that a new player, having to learn/try/check 27 elite specs I think on its own is already a lot. Can't imagine where and how this would end if we would get new elite specs more often. And while I am no casual but not a pro either, I normally dont use more than 4-5 classes and more than 10 specs for my normal gameplay. My guess is, the majority of the playerbase does the same and adding new specs just for content's sake, it wouldnt really add more value to GW2. Contrary, continuing the new balance phylosophy which gives alacrity, quickness and support-heal access to all the existing classes and specs, while fixing non meta weapons and make them class wide available (new expansion) and adding new weapons too (new expansion), can really utilize the already huge availability of specializations, builds, gear and possible gameplay. Regarding the "dont make skyscale easy to get, let them suffer as I did" that's again, not to your personal interest (its kinda inhuman type of logic too but thats another discussion). Guild Wars 2 has a long achieving, learning and obtaining curve and as new content, new achievements, new legies and new mounts are added to the game, one would need years to reach the point that an existing vet player is and so would be in fact stupid for a new player to try to catch up with everything (all leggies, all mounts, while building KPs, trying metas and many many more). So, unless you want this game to die sooner or later due to the lack of new players and shrinking playerbase (as statistically some of the existing quit) and so having all of your effort and your achievements disappear, please, stop demanding something that is both against your personal interest and the interest of others. The same goes for the "relic will invalidate my legy runes" discussion. The given information isnt enough yet to judge but even if it will invalidate them, there shouldnt be any drama around it. At the end, having the freedom to choose a strong effect, that isnt tied anymore to some unwanted stats, can make the builds (old and new) more efficient and/or more fun. When it comes to the size of the content of the new expansion and its comparison with older ones, with SotO we will get new weapons(9), existing weapons (27) that were tied to a spec will become class wide available (with some new skills and prolly some trait rework), new login reward system, new masteries, new fractal and new strikes with CMs, new legy armor (open world one), runes rework and the relic system, new zones and whatever else I forgot and we dont know yet. Compared to the how many years of despair between PoF and EoD and considering EoD as the least good expansion so far (although it took many years), I would just say that its not about the size ( 😞 ) but about the product that they will deliver at the end. If Anet will manage to deliver all these stuff in a succesful way, without killing people's classes^^', creating metas that cause community wars regarding the difficulty and etc, maybe, in the future, this Expansion will be valued same as HoT and PoF. And hopefully Gw2 will not only continue to be alive and active but will get bigger and better so that you will have more newbies to welcome in starting zones with your 35 infusions/skins, to BM them in wvw, to trashtalk them in pvp, to kick in raids/strikes/fractals and to invite in "promising" guilds to milk their gold :3 PS About the pricing complains, if you arent able to pay 25 dollars for a live game once a year or so, you will simply not do it and continue play the rest of the game but I would add that this should be the least of your problems/ concerns.
  12. Better games for sure. But better mmos just no (in case you liked gw2). Else good luck with downtime (not able to play at all) due to patches, bug fixes etc. Good luck with subscriptions, battle passes, no dodge, 35 skills on global cooldown, not equal loot for everyone, mounts from wish.com, official and supported afk battle and many more.
  13. While I ve tried only few other MMOs , I would bet that Octovine may easily be one of the best Metas (if not the best) in MMO history. A meta for everyone, from the leechers/newbies at east to the one shot and picnic at south. The trolls that taking armors to push flowers towards players and/or that put portals and merchants on chests after the meta. The agony, the fun., the drama, the toxicity, people that tagged meta and soloing mushi/vets while waiting. Its all there. And all that for a good minimum amount of gold and a chance to get an infusion. Plus, the luxury to just change instance in case your meta failed and farm a succesful one instead (even if its only for once per day for the whole loot). Regarding mounts, yes they are the best in genre and each one feels trully unique. I will never forget the day I completed my skyscale and I couldnt stop flying everywhere and taking screenshots. Like for real, the day that I got my skysnail>day I lost my virginity>day I graduated>day I ate my first pizza with blue cheese. The above, I think are the strongest points of each expansion (in my opinion) and my vote went for HoT as this whole Auric Basin experience (yes other HoT metas are also good, gliding and etc) I dont think is possible to remake to such extent that utilizes so many aspects of the game, the mechanics and the community itself.... Maybe not even by the same people that created it.
  14. While its not mainly for the meta itself , you can try and do some Riba. It does have a meta boss that can also drop a valuable infusion but you can also farm before (to prepare the map) and after (chest farm). And its up with squads almost all day long. Same goes with Drizzlewood coast but this one is a bit more tricky to find a big enough squad and a not so prepared for meta map, so that you will have a good profit. Rather than these and than what already been suggested above I would say to mix things up with some squad fishing, ley line anomaly, maybe "leech" metas like Octovine (after the meta is succesfully done and after you find an open tarir squad on lfg) to win time and try many but smaller stuff (home farming, daily crafting, dragonstorm, pact commander supply). I too agree that having a routine may not let you enjoy your gaming time at least not as much as you would if you just played whatever you felt like each time. You could also try to use other classes/roles during fractals (like healer if you are used to play dps) and/or do them with friend-guildies. This also could make it feel like a fun time and not a task. Or do it with pugs which can be a wild adventure 😄

Regarding the tools and when it comes to these that you buy with karma, the most profitable according to "fast.farming-community.eu" are the frostbitten ones, giving you a profit from 12.5silver up to 25silver per 1000 karma. But as Linken wrote above it will depend if you have enough karma to spend constantly on these (in case you are planning to node farm a lot and regulary). Karma in general (and efficiently for gold proffit) is motsly used -daily- on pact supply network agents to aquire mapping materials that give 14-16+ gold per week. So if you have and/or generate enough karma you can use this method. When it comes to the gathering tools from the shop that have unlimited uses, volatile are the most profitable ones but not always as the level of the map/type of nodes can change the results and so you can get more profit from other glyphs instead (on specific areas). As its written already above it takes a lot of time for these tools from the shop to pay off. About salvaging, opening the gear to see what you get, gives always better results (in the long run) than selling them before openning them on the traiding post or selling them after openning them without salvaging. So I would say always open and always salvage. And also, if you like and feel so, you can even upgrade (from crafting and mystic forge) some of the materials that you will get from salvaging to higher tier to get even better value out of salvaging. Personally if I would have to buy something from the shop it would be the salvaging kits due to quality of life, time spent and so.
