  1. This is a very basic question, but I'm confused about dps meter that will show a dps uptime of 70%, 80%, or any percentage below 100%, when attacking a target. If you automatically auto attack whenever you are not hitting a specific skill, how can you ever have anything but 100% dps uptime (especially if condi), assuming you are actually close enough to the target to hit it? This is probably something very basic that I am missing, but I'd appreciate a response. Thanks.
  2. Without adjusting the gamma setting, which effects the overall look, is there a way to stop the reaper shroud from darkening the screen. I have a hard time seeing some ground effects when I am in shroud.
  3. Alac Specter sucks at the moment because the alac is tied to wells, requiring a double tap to activate. Very annoying. Worst of all, you can't use the wells when needed, as they must be immediately applied to barely keep alac up. Who even cares what the wells put out as far as boons when you can't save them for a proper situation? No leeway. Any spec, to include Scrapper or ala/heal tempest as well, that requires you to spam utilities to barely keep a boon up is horrible design and very unfun to play and not at all interactive with the content.
  4. Looking for an explanation as to when/where to place portals for the Drakkar fight. I know it's inside and outside on the last phase of the fight when fighting the spirits, but I must be confused as to why. I was under the impression that the mesmers who will place portals would each choose one and not go in for the First portal fight so as to not get the debuff. A couple people told me I was wrong, so I wanted to ask here. Thanks.

  7. Stalima, I probably am not. However, what, or perhaps how much, protection is pulsed? Is it just horribly worded, and all it means is that you have 33% protection for 2 1/4 seconds? Maybe there is a mechanic that I don't understand, because adding pulses and duration after the first sentence seems redundant and confusing. One of the problems with this game is that I have not found a place that explains basic information like this. The wiki is helpful in a general way, but it lacks specifics . Thanks for the response.
  8. Basic question if someone doesn't mind explaining to me please. protection: 2 1/4 sec pulses 3 duration 2 sec. How are these numbers so contradictory? I can't find an explanation anywhere. This is just an example. Many abilities have seemingly contradictory time elements. Thanks for any explanations. And, if anyone knows a website that has such answers, I'd appreciate it as well. The wiki is less than helpful half the time.
  9. They could make Untamed much better by simply doing one thing. Make our pets as good as the Mechanist pet. Other changes asked for above are nice, but having a pet that actually did useful damage would take a lot of pressure off Anet regarding a half dozen changes that Untamed needs otherwise.
  10. anyone else having a problem getting fervent force to proc? I only get the 4 sec reset every second or third time I use a disable skill. Specifically, I was using axe/axe and axe 4 would only occasionally reset axe 2. Is there something I am missing. It shows a 1/4 sec reset
  11. thanks for the replies. they all make perfect sense. I had not realized that the defuff had a specific duration, though I should have since bosses roll over during failed attempts. no mystery then, just not thinking it through. there were only three or four people per lane where I was at.
  12. I've always been of the understanding that once you fight one of the last 3 bosses that you could not enter one of the other two. Today, I fought beekeeper and then helped the other two lanes kill Mordrem so they could enter.....(non-organized map). On the north boss, i decided to just give it a shot, and I was able to enter the fight and rez people. If I'm remembering correctly, in the past, I would be physically tossed out for doing it. Have the rules changed and I just wasn't paying attention?
  13. Thanks Moradorin, I think you directly/indirectly answered my question. I've been assuming that arcDps treats each of the three boss encounters as separate elements and reports each independently. What must be happening is that arcDps considers all 3 fights to be a single incident and thus combines the stats from all three fights in the final tally. Until just now, I had been single mindedly focused on what I thought was logical about stat reporting. The one thing that makes sense now is that they were indeed reflects but from a previous fight, fight #2 in the series, and it showed up as a final accounting. Of course, this gives me an entirely new view of the data presented. For whatever reason, your persistence clarified something that had never occurred to me. Thanks.
  14. I still haven't found anything. To note, the poisonous spin damage was not done while fighting the thrasher, though it is a Thrasher-specific talent, so reflection isn't an option. It was done on the north-most boss. Honestly, it doesn't really matter in the given context, because I don't care if someone is exploiting damage in a Silverwaste fight, but if it is indeed a more general exploit, then that is something different. Who knows at this point. I just had to ask the community. Thanks for all the responses.
