  1. I… I can’t… the audacity… the entitlement… I know that this is just a video game, with no real consequence on the real world, but frankly this is just another example of why the idea of the slippery slope is not now nor has it ever been a fallacy
  2. Entitlement really is running absolutely rampant these days…
  3. I love that the OP acknowledged it towards the end because I’m in agreement and was thinking this the whole time I was reading it- the MCU has ruined so much of storytelling like don’t get me wrong I loved the MCU… at first. But it infected so much storytelling in pretty much every genre in that everything has to be undercut with cringey humor i loved GW1 because it didn’t do that. And I very much enjoyed how SotO is moving somewhat away from it, but I seriously want that to forever be in the rear-view mirror…
  4. 1. Absolutely not. You want the special shiny of a raid/strike, play a raid/strike. Seriously there is the same functionality/stats of (soon to be) literally every item that can be somewhat easily obtained in every game mode (easy does not mean quick, people), there HAS to be some form of incentive to play each different game mode or else the game will die 2. Again, absolutely not. This would eliminate the purpose of cities completely. While I do wish there was more customization options for the home instance, this is not the way to do it 3. I wouldn’t theoretically MIND a new race, but it’s never going to happen, give the amount of time/effort would be required to do it. This has been discussed a million times before, it’s just not in ANets interest to do so. Additionally- we’ve got a bunch of non-playable races already, use one of those before breaking the lore and introducing something completely new that magically has never been seen before 4. Yeah, sure 5. Again- while I wouldn’t theoretically be opposed to such, it’s just not feasible from a financial perspective. The amount of coding that would need to be involved in this is just impractical
  5. Oh yeah I’d be pissed. I already have legendary heavy armor, so the functionality is useless for me. But the heavy concept art looks soooooo good that I’ve been working towards it (unless there’s some ridiculous extra requirement for the arcanum/precursor part, I’ll have more than enough to get the full set the day it releases, just as quick as I can do that map completion on six characters)
  6. I would love that. Them adding the shards of glory was a start, but they should be account bound
  7. Oh thank goodness, it had been almost a full ten minutes since the last time this exact thread had been made for the millionth time suck it up. If you want the legendary thing, do the legendary requirement and WvW remains the most fun game mode outside of festivals
  8. Hey hey hey- they’re a time gate for armor AND a trinket!
  9. One- it was literally first presented as a prestige mount Two- it also hasn’t- with the exception of the bunny (which does still have the break bar utility), the skyscale still doesn’t do anything as well as the other mounts. Sure, it can do pretty much a part of every other mount, but with the exception of the rabbit, everything else is better at what they do than the skyscale is. Raptor, beetle, griffon, are all faster. Skimmer can go underwater and doesn’t suffer from long distances. Jackal is more maneuverable. Siege turtle hits harder, tanks more, and has the passenger seat. As someone mentioned, it’s a jack-of-all-trades, the second line of that rhyme being ‘master of none’, ending with ‘but better than a master of one’
  10. I’ll keep doing 3 a week until I have the armors, I find it much better than grinding rifts (and I didn’t mind the rifts) and that means every month I’d have enough for a piece of armor (after having taken care of the other armor sets, of course). Much less chance of a burnout and I do think the chaos is fun
  11. Oh good, it’s been ten minutes, I was worried we weren’t going to get yet another thread on this
  12. Pretty much the only one really made obsolete was the Springer, although even that has the break bar function (not exactly what it was MADE for, but still) yes, skyscale is above and beyond the most versatile, and you can do pretty much everything you need to with it. But the other ones do their thing better, even if it is less convenient swapping from one need to the next
  13. Honestly that’s what I like best about the Aurene legendaries- you can fit them to the aesthetic of whites, blues, oranges, purples, greens, etc, and they still LOOK legendary and have the animations. Understand that it’s an EXPENSIVE route if you want to take it, but it works
  14. Yeah doesn’t it refresh at the end of Halloween/drop of part 2 of SotO? Make sure to finish all your ‘special’ ones by then, then we can (likely) get more clovers and most of a legendary
  15. This is one of the craziest, least likely to come to be suggestions I’ve ever seen… and I am 100% on board
  16. Overall, this. That being said, I’d absolutely make the exception for polymock
  17. Because it actively harms the environment that GW2 is. Changing it to P2W undermines the point of horizontal progression. And it feeds the entitlement complex that destroys gaming as a whole. Games in general used to be better overall, and these practices are what has continued to bring them down.
  18. This guy gets it I know they never would at this point, but I absolutely wish they would make all legendaries account bound. Earn it or bust. And incorporate account bound PvP components
  19. I kinda agree- don’t get me wrong, I want the legendary open world armor to be an insane grind. I actually think it’s not enough overall, I’m casually working towards it and will likely have enough for a full set the day it released BUT- this particular armor is an insane grind. If someone wants JUST THIS armor, it’s ridiculous- a minor gift, a clover, and more for an exotic? It rubs me the wrong way. Put the exact same effort and put it in a different place as the requirement for the legendary armor? Absolutely, go for it. But looking at this armor IN ISOLATION from the legendary armor it helps unlock? It’s too much
  20. Exactly this. People are whining non stop about how much effort/resources it takes to craft the new armor, and we don’t even know the final cost yet. If we disregard literally every other part of the cost, and JUST look at the raw ecto, per piece it’s 600 I’m already sick of the current whining, none of them are even willing to pay the cost of the ectos, let alone the rest of the effort, this idea would just amplify this
  21. lol have you seen the reaction to the PvE only armor? Given a way to do things without raids, WvW or PvP and now are whining even harder
  22. As it is a competitive battle, I probably wouldn’t be miffed if this change was implemented. That being said, y’all are crazy- WvW is the best mode in the game, seriously idk how people hate on it so much. I like PvE, too (PvP is meh, I like the 2v2s and 3v3s more than the regular), but WvW is a blast, I love playing different roles all the time
  23. I mean, I see it as an easy way to get an additional mastery point (acts 1 and 3 I got just playing through normally, act two has the divergent paths where I’d need to play it twice anyways
