  1. Top stats was heralded as a system to counter elitist and toxic name calling due to underachieving. The theory was that you focus on the possitive; the guy that did extraordinarily well. Meanwhile the rest was anonymous, unknown and therefor not good or bad. This was the theory at least... In practice top stats are used like this: " I am top X Y Z...and the rest did NOTHING in that regard". Ive seen plenty of situations where i knew i did relatively good dmg (for example) yet get trashtalked by a guy who was only a few k above me. Most of the time this was due to me being forced to sidenode for a while for example. And yes i know top stats dont mean everything. But thats not the point of this post. The system was changed to make the situation less toxic, while it did the direct opposite. If they reverted it back to the old situation where they showed the stats, it wouldve been way better. You would see that most of the times 3-4 guys in a team are relatively close together in terms of value/output.
  2. Conquest is based on kiting and rotating numbers to the correct nodes. 3v3 is just budget wow arena.
  3. We had metas where the direct opposite was true, where a good support could allow thier group to facetank a lot of dmg. I welcome a combination of good positioning, smart use of terrain and quality support.
  4. Before you make a balance related post consider a few things: - The game isnt balanced around duels. You have several roles that all do different things well, duellist being 1 of them. Duelling is basicly only good to practice your reaction time / gameplay vs some classes. To illustrate that even further you used an example of a thief that used antitoxin rune vs you (something no thief on the ladder uses). So he probably only used that to counter you in a duel. What tells me he didnt alter his build completely just to counter you in a duel? - Sometimes you losing or winning is a you issue and not perse game related issue. Versus thieves for example kiting on objects to prefent openers works really well. In other words did you look at what you did wrong before you started thinking that its a game related issue? - Maybe next time show us some gameplay footage.
  5. There are a few that can, drazeh and boyce being two of them. U see them win 70+% as solo on stream....not hard to imagine to see them win 90% with a good duo partner.
  6. Ppl calling boyce and drazeh wintraders now? Lol..its not like they push solo past 1700. Not weird that they go 1800+ when they duoq.
  7. What Koensel says pretty much sums it up. You basicly rely on teammates being fast with their trigger finger to insta stunnbreak / dodge the initial burst. If you lose teammates early you risk getting snowballed. If your team manages to survive / predict the initial burst well enough u can can hunt the scrapper all game.
  8. Youre wrong, i love playing against it. Its a predictable 1 trick pony that is an easy focus target. Anything with ranged will farm any guy playing that build. Most range builds have more ways to reset the fight or reopen from stealth. And thats all you have to do / be able to do. The only thing this build is good at is snowballing and +1 ing fights where its not the main focus. If it is the main focus its mayor liablility in the team since it has terrible sustain.
  9. Current scrapper is a pure glass canon. Its high reward for a super high risk / low sustain. Even for top players this build is a very big gamble. I have never had such an easy time killing guys like Drazeh. Guys that are way above my skillevel and i wasnt able to touch during earlier seasons. Now they play this and die ...a lot.
  10. I agree. with OP. The issue of this game is matchmaking related. Not having enough players to form a good matchup. Numerous times i played 1 unrated followed by a rated game. In the unrated game i often saw quite some better players than in the rated one. Even tho the rated game had 2 or more top 20 players. Teams typically look a bit like this: 2 x 1700+ and 3 x gold players. 3 x 1600-1700 and 2 x gold players. So you have 5 x gold players in a rated matchup....while your see quite a few plat players playing unranked. Easily enough to fill the spots the gold players take.
  11. Even in wow which has like 10 x the pvp population its a struggle to form a likeminded RBG group with comparable skill. Some of us just want to logg in. play 2-4 games and be done in an hour. I dont want to have a guild group or similar and be forced to logg in during specific hours either. I just want to play when i have a spare hour in between.
  12. Tools holo gets farmed by any focus fire or any burst in general. It lacks defensive tools to counter heavy pressure. Where other more meta builds have immunities, ports or stealth and often a combination of those 3 which are quite often ways to completely reset. Look at all the builds that metabattle considers "meta". All of them have more sustain due to one or more of those defensive CDs. So holo is the easiest to focus down in a team fight where both teams have mostly meta builds. So it has to sidenode where it will face chronobunkers, catalysts and to some extend untamed. All of 3 of them being pretty good vs "wombo combos". Ive played vs all top dogs on both EU and NA and i havent seen a single holo being the carrying factor in any team. Sure they have random moments where they catch someone off guards or with some def CDs down. But overall its mid tier tier at best. Edit: even in the clip by floody u see what happened at the very end. When he chased down RIP (the top holo on eu).
  13. Catalyst is the best sidenoder in the game atm + a solid team fighter. Support tempest is on par with suppport core guard, the two top dogs when it comes to playing support. All engi builds are B tier at best. With core engi and mechanist being F tier. So what are you talking about? 😄
  14. Mecha works vs ppl that dont do dmg and dont focus fire. . .so low rated ppl. There is a reason the main example clip we get in this post seems to be a game bronze/silver at best. Above plat the mecha will get focussed first since its easier to take down than any of the top meta classes. It has no invulns and no stealth which is a must have in this burst heavy meta. Its has a port to create distance....but all meta team fighters have more mobility to counter this. If it tries to sidenode it will get kitten on by good catas, vindis or even spellbreakers. So it has no use and no role in the current meta.
  15. No...its not about getting gut. Its about not being a weak individual and blaming the game, teammates, balance or anything that isnt related to yourself. Ive seen it every time i played, for years. 99% of the players blame anything but themselves when they lose. Like in the example i mentioned. The guy spend half an hour blaming anything but himselve while he got 1v2ed and 1v3ed multiple times by me. His teammates...balance....matchmaking...duoq (even if it was his favour)....etc. Start learning from your f ups instead of being a toxic blamer.
  16. Quite a few in the MMO community are weak minded. They go in to a game...lose and spend the next 10-30 mins blaming anything but themselves. Ive seen it all for years: "Ive lost but ....": - The game sucks / is dead so who cares. - That class my opponent plays is OP ... - The matchmaking is broken ... the opponent abuses a matchmaking/bug. - My teammates suck (eventho i spam die/have zero impact myself). Lets face it...this is one of these posts. Youre on a losing streak and threw down your mouse in rage while shouting "this game sucks...noone is enjoying this"....and then you decided to make this post. Reminds me of a guy i played yesterday. We faced Vaans + spidersomething (w/e his name is) duo + that guy. They lost and the guy started blaming Vaans for not carrying enough. He ended up mentioning everything on my list but himselve. he spend 30+ minutes raging in mapchat about matchmaking, how kitten the game was, lack of balance etc. You either play the game, try to improve and enjoy that proces or you dont ... but you dont post rageposts after every loss.
  17. Ive never seen these mythical specters that are harder to deal with than a top tier bladesworns. Who are they?
  18. The problem is that mech only works at lower rating. Its borderline unusable above gold 2. Its subpar vs anything meta. It gets kitten on by good catalysts and bladesworn if it tries to side node. If it doesnt sidenode its either super tanky but not bursty in mid and thus easily ignored. Or bursty but easily bursted down by the meta builds like power herald, blade sworn. U know what works at that low rating vs mech? Core burn guard. At that rating ppl are convinced u have to fight on point. Just cleave the entire team down incl the mechs. There is very little they can do about it if they fight on point, which they will since they are convinced it is the way.
  19. A big issue is that alt accounts dont get pushed up fast if they get in to huge winstreaks. On this i won 90% of my games but im still stuck at 1200-1300 despite winning 10 in a row. So ill be against you despite being plat 2 on main acc 😛
  20. If you ask purely about condi thief: The PD build from metabattle works just fine. I personally run it with blinding powder smokescreen and shadowstep as uttilities. The DP build from metabattle is one of the top 3 strongest builds in pvp atm.
  21. As thief i decimate all necros 1v1. You just need to reset the fight once or twice. If you stay in to facetank the necro burst you will die ye. 😄 Necros are strong vs other non mobile classes like guard, ele since those arent able to reset like thieves can. Especially at low rating this is an issue since ppl dont kite. They just stand in front of eachother untill they die.
  22. Firebrand is quite weak in rated pvp tbh.
  23. I do tho. I check quite a few of my teammates / opponents when matchmaking feels off. If you gain only 7 points you won versus an on average lower rated team. There are a few factors that could make it harder: - You could be playing vs alt accounts that didnt play enough games to push their MMR up. - You could be playing versus guys that got unlucky during placements (or teammates that got lucky). Since its start of the season the rating gain and loss is still quite volatile. - The opponents could have a mix of skillevels in their team with their top skilled guy playing a prof that happens to counter a big part of your team. - Some couldve been playing alts -> sink their MMR -> swap back to their main and face you right after. - Etc etc. Fact is; you won vs a lower rated team. So you only deserve 7 points. There are so many factors that decide if a game is easily winnable or not. I mean i played against Drazeh last week when he was still rank 1 on the ladder. Won super easy. 2 games later i lost a game vs unknown guys who where a lot low rated. That doesnt mean that drazeh is a lot worse than those guys and deserves way lower rating. It means that all the factors within that game ended up making it an easy win. Nothing more nothing less.
  24. Let me put it in to perspective for you. Lets assume you are gold 3. You just won a close game vs a team thats on average silver 2. And you want more points for that?
