  1. This thread is proof that the average WvW player is lazy and will complain about literally anything that's even a minor inconvenience to them as a result of enemy activity. This isn't PvE. Please stop with posts like this, it's lame. Just spend the extra 30 seconds getting to your keep on your mount, it's not a big deal. WvW has been dumbed down so much over the years the way it is. Upgrades in towers marking enemies on the map, sentries doing the same thing. How much more handholding is necessary, honestly?
  2. The same people here complaining about stealth are the same people who probably developed an understanding of the concept object permanence at the ripe old age 25. You know what, I hope Anet decides to remove stealth from thief and gives us tons of damage to compensate or something nutty. You all will be crying about thief until the day this game dies, regardless of the class's reliance on stealth as a class mechanic.
  3. I guess it does settle it, you haven't put forth any decent arguments here. Saying those things aren't comparable at all isn't really up for debate, btw. Stealth and other defensive mechanics are definitely comparable. They buy you time for other cooldowns, they allow you to reposition, they mitigate damage, etc. You're just wrong my guy.
  4. So stop/start combat is bad? Does that mean you also believe blocks are bad, evade frames are bad, and invulnerability is bad? Because all of those stop/start combat just as effectively if not more so in many cases than stealth does. I can't remember the last time I had a thief gank me out of stealth before I saw him coming.
  5. Lol what? First of all, Thieves have to enter stealth to access their hardest hitting attacks. Secondly, why would you need to stealth to sneak around the map? You can do that just by walking around, there aren’t thousands of players between you and where you’re going. And mounts exist. This is one of those weird, borderline role playing opinions. “Stealth should be sneaking around the map. Popping out of the shadows as you enter combat. Ooooo spooky thief.”
  6. Yes, yes. Every spec and build that YOU don't play is cancer, cheese, or poorly designed. All e-specs are doo doo dumb dumb and poorly designed. How did you post all that and not think to yourself: "Man, I think I just hate everything about this game. Why do I play it at all?" Honestly, I don't care. Anet can nerf stealth, or not. If they do, neat. I'm sure thieves will find another build that can perform decently and beat up some more new/bad players who will come here and make the same complaints all over again like you're doing now. 3 things remain guaranteed in life: Death, taxes, and requests for nerfs for thief. Sorry, I meat to type thief as "teef," forgot I'm dealing with witty children.
  7. What leads to thieves playing SA is the desire to run the strongest traits and builds. If there were more competitive traits in other trait lines, let's say Acrobatics for example, then many builds would be less reliant on the benefits of SA. Also not sure what you mean by lack of guts? This is a video game. Guts has nothing to do with anything. We're all sitting behind a monitor on a keyboard. Stop roleplaying in WvW.
  8. Balance should never be done based on the interactions of the lowest skilled players. Fights shouldn't be made easier because a new player of a bad player loses fights against a certain class.
  9. I called it, this is now a nerf thief thread. We found the problem everyone. There's tons of "harasser guilds" of thieves camping spawns all day. WvW unplayable because of thief zergs. Do you all even read your posts before you click submit?
  10. If a player is taking a sentry and marked on the map, they need to be paying attention to their surroundings. "Head on a swivel" mentality. You shouldn't be surprised if a group that's nearby decides to come get an easy loot bag if you're taking a sentry. You should be prepared to run away from them if you see them getting close. And with mounts, it's literally impossible not to get away from a group.
  11. I see this thread is starting to devolve into an anti-thief thread. I'm surprised it took this long.
  12. I've been playing WvW since release and "harasser guilds" has never been a thing. Sure small, groups of players might kill solo players, but it's generally the solo player's fault for having zero awareness of their surroundings. Those small guild groups are more likely to just be running around the map trying to take towers and camps and just happen to run over the occasional bad/noob player. It isn't harassment to kill an enemy. You guys need to stop being so soft in a PvP game mode. It's kinda weird and sad seeing people complain about getting killed by a group of players. You should do what I do when I mess up and get run over by a group: respawn and go about your day.
  13. ? I don't camp spawns, I solo roam for the most part. I don't see any point in complaining about something like this though. You can literally exit your spawn 3 different ways, or just switch maps. Or you and players in your server can rally together in spawn and L2P. (You is the general you, not you personally, btw).
  14. WvW has gotten so soft. Can we delete this thread and move on?
