  1. I like using around two kits. However I'm not very fond of toolbelt skills.
  2. yea, i don't get it. for me, i heard some fairly frequently at early leveling, but i can't recall hearing even one exchange after around 40, i think. I don't think I've had any dialogue happen at 80 whatsoever. I guess there isn't really a solution out there. Which is a shame, especially if the dialogue stays virtually unseen for me in EoD, what with it being Shiro's homeland.
  3. I noticed a little while ago that after my rev leveled past lv 30 ish, i stopped getting any kind of what i have seen referred to as 'ambient dialogue' between my rev and the legends. I remember getting some very early on while leveling, but at some point it just stopped altogether? Is there something in 'options' that i accidentally turned off or some kind of bug? is it some kind of chat box setting? I haven't even seen the dialogue show up in the chat box since lv 30 ish. It's all very weird. I love my rev enough that this won't stop me from playing it, but i liked the rev/legend chatter when it happened and it seems gone for me now. It sounds like the ambient dialogue isn't supposed to just stop after the early levels like this, judging from people mentioning that shiro and the new legends are getting new dialogue. Turning on 'character chatter' gets me voiced lines when i switch legends, but it didn't bring the ambient dialogue stuff back, which is what i was hoping would happen. so idk, and I'm posing this question publicly to see if anyone has ideas.
  4. yeah, it'll happen eventually. Mounts have movement impacts on your game, which is pretty much why I even decided to pursue the dragon at all. Legendary gear has never really been something I've wanted, mostly because ascended gear works fine for basically everything i do in the game as it is-open world events and low level fractals with very little Agony, very slowly leveling alts, replaying story chapters.. So embarking on a journey like the skyscale's will probably be a one time journey for me when it comes down to it, as the obvious benefit to the mount is keeping up with event trains and exploration. The dragon will probably be worth it. Considering how much i'm not enjoying certain steps though, i doubt I'll ever want to do something like this for gear.
  5. yeah, that's true. Mostly just getting a little irritated at how many moving parts they decided to have for these collections. Kind of feels like overkill in a lot of ways-I don't even mind the timegating or the idea of collecting the currencies that much...the rest is what is currently making me wonder if the mount's all that. I also have bad spacial awareness when it comes to jumping puzzles, so thats not encouraging either.
  6. It's turning out to be a lot more trouble than I thought it would be. I don't really expect the devs to change the process cause of this post or anything, its more a rant to get some stuff on my chest. Namely, the Saving Skyscales part. It's proving to be remarkably tedious and annoying-or at least some of it is. Some of the magic absorb spots you need to find are either infuriating to get to or locked in maps that I don't have and would have to buy-guides i found gave me the impression I would only need two of the episodes for the collection. I also can't seem to get into Bitterfrost Frontier for one of the ice ones, even though I've played through all of IBS. The portal to get there is blocked for me. Now I've encountered a point were I have to somehow get up to a magic spot in the Blazeridge Steppes-all the way up on some stupidly difficult to target pillar on the wall....now I'm back to questioning if the skyscale is really worth all this trouble. Don't get me wrong, it's fine for getting it to have a lot of steps. I don't even mind the prospect of grinding the currency-I have Dragonfall and the Bjora marches, so while that would take a while, that's fine with me. The part where I'd need to buy a lot of stuff from trading post I can always cheese with gems. If i do ever get to the part were you feed the skyscale, that part is one that I wouldn't mind either, as it sounds as simple as feeding the dragon daily, which is A ok. My current issue with it is that if you missed lws4, you have to buy all the maps, just to access maybe three magic essences. I also really don't get why the part where you absorb magic into the eggs couldn't have been one magic spot for each magic type-or at least, been like the Spirit, Earth, Life, Air, and Blood ones. AKA, all of which were not a big headache to acquire and required only core PoF, HoT, and Tyria maps to get. Also not thrilled that one of the magic points is connected to the super complicated Augury Rock event with the dopplegangers..... I basically don't get why this thing has to have so many frickin' substeps. I can only imagine what the part where you have to chase the dragon is like. From what I've also gathered, the part with the rifts sounds almost as tedious as the part I'm on now. none of this is necessarily hard to do, its mostly just getting annoying. If all the magic essences were as simple to attain as the ones I listed above, I'd be having a alright time-those ones were actually pretty enjoyable to get. In short, is the Skycale really worth all this? cause I've already got the griffon springer duo, and honestly, as much as I like dragons, I'm starting to remember why I switched to getting the griffon when I first started the skyscale and saw all the steps.
  7. i did realize a little while after i made this post that the guide was indeed questionable, and all i had to do to get the last rune was talk to the Equipment Manager achiev lady(forget her name) and didn't needed the rather unneeded jackal. Made me a little steamed that i wasted all that time, but i guess it is what it is. At least my griff has dodge now with its movement abilities.
  8. I'm not asking because of the specific mastery point but for the griffon achieve chain. I need to get into the cave and fight the guy as the next step. I was following a guide and doing things in order up until this point. the game never gave me the impression I'd need the jackal for the griffon, and the guide did not make any mention of needing it up until this step. I was also under the impression that the Jackal was a flavor mount that you'd only need for treasure hunting in the portals. I wasn't expecting the griffon chain to take for granted that players pursuing the griffon would have the jackal and have its masteries up to tier 3. If the jackal doesn't require a huge achievement chain to get, I may keep going, though.
  9. Came back to the game in Icebrood Saga, and thought the griffon would be obtainable for me with the mounts i did have. things were going fine until this achievement. Is the cave for the achievement really jackal only? I don't have the jackal, and don't particularly want to have to take a detour that would probably be just as time consuming as getting the griffon itself. All to get a mount I wouldn't really use except for this one time-not to mention the time needed to grind its masteries. I was hoping the griffon would be less of a headache to get than the skycale for someone who returned late and missed when the PoF stuff-and it's locked LW- was current. If there isn't any other way, I'll be disappointed that I got this far only to be barred by not having a jackal and just stick with the core mounts. I only ever had the energy to undertake one big mount grind-I was intending for the griffon to be that one grind, but it looks like I'll probably just have to abandon that idea, as bitter as it is. It makes me glad for WoW's much simpler mount achievements-guess I'll only have flying mounts over there, if the jackal is the only way.
