  1. Huuuh... The composition suggestions on Snowcro have 4 DH for Vale Guardian. 6 for Gorseval. 2 for Slothasor and Keep Construct. 5 for Deimos (Speedclear Guilds don't do Ranged starts) and one for Samarog... And in Quadim they write that DH is a good replacement for Daredevil. I think that's quite a lot of DH's being suggested to counter your "They don't even suggest DH's". Just saying... I stand corrected. Is this since the latest patch. The last time I looked, DH's weren't even on the radar. Time to dust mine off then.Comps are updated for each patch, but they are based on what’s optimal in a speed run setting and not what’s better with pug strats and pug skill.
  2. leave a guild? I don't even know why there are 5 guild slots to begin with. There should be at most 2.Guilds USED to be for players who were loyal and achieved goals together. Now players just join guild for free hand outs.. Guild Wars, the title it self is contradictory. Maybe ANET meant for Guilds to be at war with their own members? I am a huge fan of guilds who kick players who do not 100% represent. The way I see it, is if players aren't willing to put in the hard work for their guild, they aren't deserving of the benefits of that guild. We DO NOT need more guild slots. Be happy there are 5. 1.) The "guild wars" title has more to do with what GW1 was originally before it was released(it was a 100% pvp game.) and the lore of the game than the actual in game gameplay itself. 2.) The real world has changed and so to have games. Players do not like being tied to one group forever, or being forced to be part of just one group forever, its unnecessarily restrictive. The guilds i have joined, i joined for what they offered, no SINGLE guild however can offer it all 100% of the time im playing the game which is why i have guilds that SPECIALIZE In individual tasks so if i want to do one of those tasks i can ask THAT Guild, something i wish i could expand upon by joining more than 5 due to there being more than 5 things i enjoy doing in this game. 3.) Im glad that joining 100% rep guilds is optional because i will never do so again. I was in one that was 75%, required, and EVERY SINGLE TIME i would rep my RP guild because i was actively roleplaying i INSTANTLY had more than one guild officer down my throat about Rep, thankfully Arenanet was smart and made the game as such that im not mandated that i am not required to be in a single guild(which in gw1 was pretty required), and feel no obligations to rep just one guild at all times. 1.) Guild Wars 1 was not 100% pvp and far from it. 3 1/2 PVE expansions. It was 25% PVP & 75% PVE and that is still is probably overshooting it. The game was also instance based. 2.) What does real world have to do with anything? Most MMOs only allow 1 guild. A handful allow a maximum of 5. As I stated OP should be happy there is 5. I also stated at most there should be 2. I do agree with you, not every guild has 100% of what you are looking for. Which is why I also stated 2. Some Guilds do WvW only, some PvX or some per PvE(RP). Regardless there are squads within guilds. 3.) No one forces a player to join a 100% represent guild. I am not even saying it should be a requirement, but it is also ridiculous to expect guilds not to have a representation requirement either. You are simply dead weight & a waste of slot for someone more deserving who will represent (not meant to be harsh). It is a matter of preference. I personally only join Guilds who have a representation requirement because I know that the hard work I put in, is reciprocated & I also give gold to fellow guild mates to help them along their journey. (Paying it forward perhaps). If the number of members who do not represent out-way the ones that do, I leave the guild. It cost Gold to invite someone to a guildIt cost Gold & resources to maintain a guildIt cost Gold & resources to upgrade a guild & last point it arguable if ANET is smart. Unrelated, but their choice to make PVP an after thought was a terrible idea & will likely bite them in the butt in the long run. They've likely missed massive marketing opportunities given the esport scene. Their attempt previously was approached terribly. The popular trend leans towards PVP not PVE.) They will be lucky to have a WvW, SPvP come next western MMO, especially if Amazon's New World lives up to its hype. I don't understand why opportunity of choice is a bad thing that should be restricted. If you don't wan't to be in multiple guilds then don't be in multiple guilds, but that doesn't mean others should be forced to restrict themselves.
  3. If getting into training groups was as easy as making forum posts, this topic probably wouldn't exist. Anyone capable of using a search engine can get into training groups. Anyone claiming the opposite has not tried :) But since I'm a nice guy, here you go:https://rti.enjin.com/https://snowcrows.com/newtoraids/
  4. If people spent 10% of the time they spend whining about raids being too hard on training instead, they would be able to do raids just fine.
  5. Its friday and most were probably still at work/school"all welcome" generally indicates a low experience group. Regardless if you play with meta or not, most T4 players would like to play with experienced people. There are a fair bunch of "off meta" groups, typically the "4 necro+druid" combo, doing T4 daily. Just looking at the LFG atm, most groups do not seem to follow a strict meta comp, and even fewer do if you'd consider DH less meta than Weaver, which it generally is(an elitist group shouldnt include "second tier dps" right?).EU LFG atm: https://imgur.com/a/tNQJ8Btw: Under the assumption that "noone will do a non meta t4 run" is correct(its not), wouldnt that imply that the vast majority of players in T4 are happy with playing meta and that you, as a minority, shouldnt ask for the majority to cater to your needs?
  6. You brought the game up. What are you talking about? I even stated that I only did a basic google search which already showed the game design and encounter design to be vastly different. So let me see if I got this right.. you walk into the discussion.. admit you know nothing but yet hope that you will beat someone with knowledge of both. You know, before I raid, I try to get a clue before i walk in, You might want to try that with forum discussion, I don't know, running in blind hoping to win might be how you roll tho, I feel bad for your raid group. I walked into the discussion having knowledge about raids in gw2, which is what this is actually about. You started talking about other games raids and brought up TERA. Which I indulged. You now decided to call it all off as a joke because, well I don't even know why. With now trying to point blame at me? Wow. The discussion was about Raids in GW2, vs Raids in other games. You only had half the knowledge to have a civil discussion. That is a faulting on your part. As mentioned my rading experience includes games as far back as DAoC (DAoC, WoW, Aion) as well as every boss in GW2. You decided to bring up TERA and when asked to provide examples how they (TERA raids) are similar to GW2 even though the game is designed completely differently (30 man raids, tank and spank, progressive gearing) you decided to get personal and change the topic (aka abandon your TERA example). Part of your civil discussion was now removed. The rest can be read in this thread up to this point. If yo didn't know anything about TERA, you should have stepped down and let someone who did, deal with it, as opposed to trying to be the hero and jumping into a discussion you were ill prepared to have. The Gear Tredmill, as I said before, is irrelevant, GW2 did not have a gear treadmill before Raids, in fact, making a QoL gear upgrade like legendary Armor be raid exclusive, makes GW2, far more akin to TERA then it used to be. Which makes Raids yet another step back and in the wrong direction. No.. you changed the topic by saying that people who object to raids in GW2 never raided. That also was your mistake. Fractals were in the game long before raids, and that is the only 'forced' gear treadmill in the game. Fractals were just skins.Irrelevant, and not correct.A gear treadmill refers to the continued grind in order to get stronger and stronger gear. This does not exist in GW2, as it caps on ascended stats. Fractals, and in particular the higher levels, forces the player to have ascended gear with infusions in order to be able to complete the content. Thats about as close to a treadmill as you get in this game.Raids do not do this, thus the discussion about raids introducing a gear treadmill is pretty much invalid from the start. Raids did not introduce a gear treadmill, but it did offer a long term qol-reward IF you decide to craft. I don't expect you, as one of the most vocal members of the anti-raid community, to agree - but that doesnt really change anything in the actual matter.

  8. Story is about story-telling. If you can stand still, facetank every attack and easily succeed while doing nothing else than pressing 111111 - how would you as a player get the impression that what you are fighting actually has some kind of power? That you fought a powerful boss and not a lvl 2 spider in a starting zone? I would agree that PoF has stepped up in terms of difficulty, but it is in no way impossible to do solo on any class. Locate your dodge key and maybe ask for some help with your build?
  9. No, they don't need to dumb down raids. Why do people feel the need to start a thread about this once a week?
