  2. Nahhhh. It's gonna lose like 3k on the golem bench but otherwise be fine. All bleed on crit traits are still there, so this is a fairly minor nerf in the grand scheme of things.
  3. Allowing only full teams into a ranked mode is a surefire way to kill off that mode quickly, especially if the playerbase for that mode wasn't very large to begin with. You honestly think there will be enough people willing and able to form full groups at any time of the day to avoid long wait times and/or completely unbalanced match-ups? Forget it. I've seen ranked be split into seperate full team and solo/duo queus in a different game and guess which of the two was removed in less than six months. Making ranked less accessible to your average player (which is your majority btw) was and is never the answer.
  4. I am wondering why we have yet another support hybrid specialization. Even if the idea was to have the two alliance spirits be opposites of each other in gameplay flavor, could Saint Victor have been something other than support-orientated? Could his skills not have been defensive in nature, but focused on just the Revenant, instead of others? Other than that, the damage feels lacking. I can get similar damage per second using spinning hammers on dwarf as I do spamming all the red skills on alliance. The jump on the offensive, top grandmaster trait should also not take you out of the fight this long. Just remove that aspect of the trait. If it's supposed to be a tradeoff, it's not a good one, in my opinion.
  5. You're saying that as if none of the other elite specs have animations that are re-used and retooled from other classes and older specs.
  6. I've only played around with WB a bit, but I find it really jarring that there's several skills in its kit that root you in place during their animation. Feels really odd on a spec marketed for its mobility.
  7. Perhaps you should imagine that some of that cc build into the Willbender's kit can act as a setup for sword 3.
  8. Since we are still half a year from release, it makes sense from a marketing perspective to spread droplets of info out over the course of the coming months. I speculate that they cut some of the info out of the reveal stream since the release was pushed back to 2022.
  9. This preview was about as deep as a puddle. There's so many details we don't know yet, so calling it "glorified DLC" is incredibly shortsighted.
  10. Maybe they should add some unique flavor to it to compensate pulling potentially massive amounts of condies off of allies. Just spit balling here, but what about a unique one buff that applies for a few seconds when transferring condies from allies to self, perhaps giving a stack per ally you pull condies from, giving you something like increased condi damage. I'm sure this specific idea would probably end up getting exploited in raids or something, but the point is that I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of a reward for this potentially "risky" to use stun breaker. Is there actually any other stun breaker that works similar to PA in the game, even?
  11. The new expansion is on the horizon and like a lot of stuff in life, it's best enjoyed with the friends we make along the way, I would say.
  12. Are you using fractal potions? You want to at least run a full stack of the defensive one, because that's a lot of damage reduction.
  13. Can't really speak for guardian, but rev currently fills the role of damage support in fractals and raids, running diviner stat gear to allow 100% uptime on alacrity. While pugs usually want both a healing firebrand and an alacrity renegade revenant, the former is usually considered more vital. I would say both have their rotations, but rev also has the energy mechanic to consider, so you do have to keep that in mind constantly if you want to use stun breaks and heals when you actually need them. Where I find rev offers some challenge and requires a little bit of thinking on the player's part is what second legend to take in a given situation. There are some instabilities and bosses in fractals, for example, where it would benefit the team more if you take the demon, dwarf, or centaur legend instead of the assassin one. On top of all this, renegade rev also had some of the best breakbar damage with staff and one of the spirits, so there's certainly some paying attention to mechanics in that regard.

  15. Because GW2 doesn't need to copy everything other games do. It can do its own thing. I, for one, am glad Soulbeast didn't turn out to be some sort of shaman copy pasta. Also, available resources and possible tech limitations.
  16. A rework like this would require the resources akin to those needed for an entire set of elite specs, or even an entire expansion, combined. I'm not huge fan of the whole thing, to be honest. I like Rev as is. It needs some work, but it doesn't need to be broken down and rebuild as something else entirely. The main problem, from my perspective and experience playing the class, is the limited choice in utility skills. Some skills simply have limited or next to no usefulness in certain modes. I've seen people suggest to allow us to mix and match utility skills regardless of equipped legend, but I feel that just makes the legend swapping system redundant, or at least strips it of its unique identity. Two other ideas I've seen being suggested (repeatedly), which I do believe have some potential, is to either create a set of general revenant utility skills that can be used with any legend, or add an extra, fourth utility skill for every legend currently in the game and with future elite specs.
  17. You know what I wish for? That the Revenant weapon skins from the Heart of Thorns demo would be added to the live game. I need those mace and axe skins!
  18. Switched to thief as main after like four and something years as ranger. No regrets so far, especially after giving Daredevil a spin.
