  1. sounds like spectral armor. hitting them with that on regens lifeforce...
  2. Is the shroud really that big of a deal though or the cover other classes can provide to the necro to mitigate its weaknesses? Just CC the necro. We got no stab basically. It's been a bit since I did structured, but in wvw, there have historically been times I spend the entire time watching my skill bar spin on cooldown and im either on my kitten or stunned or dazed from 100 % shroud to death.
  3. I mean, to be fair.. we had like 5 years of the only buff to the class being "Increased axe 2 damage modifier by x%". It's not that they don't want to nerf us as much as they forget we exist. 😛
  4. Useless in small group roam now. No regen and low mobility again. Undo those changes please.
  5. Depends on your context. I'd argue that for small group roaming, specter makes necro look pretty meh in many ways. I'll still play my necro, and core condi + specter is gonna be kittenous as hell,, but let's be real here.. Focused on single target, plaguedoctor specter provides more barrier in like a few autoattacks than we used to give AND it gives torment stacks to the linked target to apply to their enemies. Kinda baller for small group roam groups.
  6. No. He is just a long time and well known player. We've either fought with him or vs him and seen people get destroyed or been destroyed ourselves. I know it's mind blowing but not shocking at all for weaver to basically evade you and take no damage while blowing you up.
  7. Right but rangers have had an orbital space cannon (longbow 1) since release. Lol
  8. I guess it's worth noting that the only game mode I routinely play is small group wvw roaming, so for me harbinger was amazing survivability since wvw roaming tends to be a lot of in and out fighting anyway.
  9. I kind of disagree. The passive regen is absolutely insane. Or was at least during beta. I felt more survivable in harbinger than in reaper or core at times.
  10. Depends on what type of role you're doing in wvw a well. Roaming solo? You want mobility and survivability. Group play? Very different. I generally run small roaming builds, either solo or with small groups. As a roamer, I run the following builds with a mix of marauder and speed runes with decent success. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PSwAc2FlRw0YWMPWJOaXntbA-e http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PSwAc2FlJwWYWMPWJmeXntaA-e I run the first one mostly. It's heavier damage, slightly less boon strip but still a decent amount with GS4, Axe 3, and focus 5. The autoattacks just chunk people. Even post signet nerf, the spite signet trait is worthwhile as it still regens a decent amount of LF in shroud and ensures I have a near full bar, and the passive heal isn't bad. Most importantly is the cooldown reduction on the signet heal while in shroud. I double up on the CC reduction /break shroud skills as this build does not have a meaningful condi removal method other than a cleansing sigil and spectral walk, so I try to make sure I target the meaningful ones instead. Still, autoattacking players for 7k is just fun. Res signet is pretty clutch in small group play as well. Second build is a bit more interesting. More survivability. Less shroud sustain, except frm condis. I run this one when I'm fighting heavy condi users or need a bit more sustain. Playstyle is different with this one. The first spite build is very in, cleave things to hell, get out. This build is a bit more in and out relying on your shouts to reduce cooldowns and chip away more while surviving.
  11. I mean... many of us started playing necro when they were a joke. Lol.
  12. I mean, for what its worth, after basically being underrepresented in anything except wvw for ... idunno.. 4 or so years... Not overly worried here. Just add more ranged dps. You got this.
  13. Wow. I agree the mac client is garbage, and as a result nobody plays on it, but I used it to check the AH on my work pc often etc. I would play full time on the client if it ran well like the wow client... but now you guys are killing it? What the heck are all my gem purchases funding?
  14. No offense, but just CC the necro. Sure, the death magic, spite lifeforce regen build is pretty tanky with trailblazer gear, but it has 0 stab other than a single well. Just CC that over and over. It also does pitiful damage in return compared to a terrormancer build etc.
  15. Wat. Right here is where you prove you are not a good player. The basic concept of countering something with another thing you outright reject. "Why should i wait to leave shroud?" ... uhh because its got a 10s cooldown and its their only defense mechanism so you're taking advantage of it? No different than taking advantage of someone double dodging to hit them with a burst or CC. Please tell me you are a troll post and people like this don't actually exist who can't understand the concept of counterplay. Do you think endure pain, elixir s, or other class damage reduction buffs are OP too? or do you do the appropriate thing and just "wait them out"? What about rev heal or defiant stance. Do you keep attacking and healing them? No. You wait. Literally "not attacking" is a counter to many skills in this game, including blocks, heals, etc. Sigh... I feel bad, but at this point you're just a troll and it shows.
  16. Getting hit by more than 1 arc divider...Big oof, ppl like you are the reason warrior got nerfed so much that the class is no threat in higher level of play, because ppl know how to dodge. In low level you can stomp with any class. wish i had a dodge at the ready, but endurance don't just recharge because I want it to. Thanks for the tip tho.And there is how we know the problem. You always save a dodge for emergency purposes. You should never be out of endurance except right after dodging arc divider. :)
  17. How are you losing to a reaper as a ranger? Especially soulbeast. Run hyena... infinite leaps.. gtfo out of range.. axe us down... wow. Also, of condi necro/reaper... sigil of cleansing is OP as shit.. just use it.
  18. No just stop touching it core is fine. Stop gutting the traits that make it work. :(
  19. I have an idea.. have the signet operate as it used to, and .. proc when you are hit by something. Double the value in shroud. Done. I still don't know why they had issues with this passive. It was incredibly good in roaming and fights.
  20. Minions are generally only used for npc farming etc. They are poor damage generally and overall unintelligent in other game modes other than open world farming. Most performance builds don't really use them though they do make open world farming a breeze.
  21. ... Barrier support scourge was finally being useful in small group roaming / solo roaming. It's not like we're full of heals, so being able to barrier people up was pretty dandy. 15 fucking seconds now? You literally had scourge in a good spot again (not broken in zergs due to target cap, useful in small group again). And you just killed it. Why?
  22. Agreed on build. Blood builds are fun but, too easy to keep lifeforce down. I prefer signet build myself and see success with it even post nerf to signets. I do swap armor out for wurm though when generally roaming.
  23. Core condi necro is countered pretty hard by anything with CC. Reaper seems to be doing better in wvw than condi core. Reaper is my goto for roams/duels etc. It's all about timing your shroud ends. Once you are caught out of shroud its a free 10s of damage on you. Some of it is damage modifiers. Rangers and soulbeast get a ton of stacking modifiers. (Maul + sicem for example). Overall though, soulbeast can easily be "overtuned" for damage. Still, as a reaper you are one of the harder hitters out there. It's not uncommon to get 3-6k autoattacks on a target with vuln in shroud. Spinal shivers hits like a truck and can routinely cit 8k+ on the right target. Axe 2 is an easy 6-9k if you get it to land. Axe 3 below 50% health can be a nice double 2-3k crit. Reapers hit like a truck. Hell, I was dueling a soulbeast that tried to go damage for damage with me in melee and autos alone wrecked him. (Pretty sure autoattacking is more damage to single target than spin2win). Ranged always countered necros. Still does. So does CC. Reapers are in a far better place though now than they used to be for roaming and we're starting to see a lot more roaming necros. Speed runes are a must though imo. What professions do we hard counter? Anything with low mobility really. Rangers for example are only an issue for me if they are full serk yolo damage and burst through an entire shroud while im out of stunbreaks. Thieves are annoying because if I misjudge their stealth I get bursted down. You have a lot of chill access and a lot of interrupt/cc and that's important to use. I've literally won fights because all i hear is "Every time i cleanse, im chilled again"
