To unlock an elite spec, do you need to unlock previous elite specs first? I.e.: If an Engineer wants to unlock Mechanist, do they need to complete Scrapper & Holomsmith first? Or can they, after unlocking all core skills, immediately go to Mechanist? The wiki isn't clear, IMO. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the reply. I honestly do not recall what I was thinking with the gear. Could you give a link to a Hammer/Scrapper build too, please? Perhaps I should try it at least. I seem to recall there's a nice Wrench-skin for the hammer. Could you also give the Holosmith build, please? I'm very intrested in it, but so far, I don't have a lot of the skills unlocked. I quit about 3 years ago. I was very frustrating that my Dual Pistol Berserker Gear Kit Based Engineer couldn't clear maps in PoF. I've read that Engineer isn't that good overall, but I don't want to give up on this character. Is there a build which allows easy solo map clearing? Preferably with ranged weapons, as I really don't like the aesthetic of a hammer. I'm slowly unlocking Holosmith. All my gear is Power/Condition/Precision, of the Rare (Orange) level, with some epic items. Kind regards and thanks in advance!
