  1. I mean this forum seems like a nest of very unhappy people in general so it feels like vocal minority in some cases.
  2. Don't see the issue of having more options for players to enjoy the game. You have used a Skyscale for a longer time already compared to other players. Plus the Skyscale will get more love as well by having both tracks involved :). Same goes for the Legendary Armor, this also opens it up for more people so they can play the game fully with having Legendary Armor and able to switch to any stat.
  3. I seem to have the same issue as non of my combofields seem to be active. I havent seen Brutal Bolts or something like that pop up at all.
  4. I believe in the chat with CmC and Teapot they mentioned this as well. CmC said they are first looking at EoD launch and after that check other things for balance. So I think we can see some changes in 2022 on boons
  5. just played some trailblazer mechanist. It is really chill and plays amazing. Enjoying it a lot 😄

  7. Agreed. I think the chances are fair overall especially with the other buffs the mechanist got. I am curious what it will be on Tuesday :). Excited!

  9. Well currently in BETA it is being used in those area's and with success. Sure it is BETA but everyone was already stating the eSpec was DoA and well look at that it isn't.
  10. Mechanist is a great class I agree. I do think we get some tuning on some skills and there is room for improvement. But I have used a lot of different builds with great succes in WvW, sPvP and open world. Furthermore, from what I have seen from some content creators they are doing quite well as well.
  11. I really like the Mechanist and from what I have played will give me all the fun I want for the different modes. That said I could see a spec that mixes Magic with Tech. Not sure if the Jade Tech already fills that but otherwise I could see it within an Astrology theming or so and with a staff. Hawkeye like class with Longbow where you lose your toolbelt skills but your utilities arm your main weapons. Like how Hawkeye has different arrows, you would also get different arrows or projectiles. As you can see it would be a very projectile heavy class. Personally I would like a core class revamp. With some new core class weapons, Axe or Scepter for mainhand, Warhorn, Focus could be cool offhand and gives us a bit more choice. Turret overhaul (more like Renegade utilities). Otherwise the spec is fine of course. But the chance of that happening is almost zero.
  12. When I was just playing in open world some of my abilities wouldn't work anymore. My Mace 3 skill would not go off and would just go on a 3 second CD. I had to relog to fix this. Same for Crashdown. The Mech wouldn't summon and I had to relog to fix it.
  13. I was talking about the other Especs from EoD. Cause you get balance patches quite often from what I have seen. Well that is my point. In my opinion Untamed and Scrapper are better versions of their Core Spec.
  14. Tried it in all three modes and worked pretty well :D. That said I do agree there are some tweaks that I would like. More options when the Mech is in the air or afk. The active skills seems to be a DPS loss instead of a DPS gain. Mace needs some more oomph. Toolbelt would be nice to see back in some form. Other than that I think the spec has a good foundation already. And will have some good play all around. I will write down a better text in a later stadium :p.

  16. Yes. I still think it will be due to the fact it has different build options, has a defiance bar, has ranged options. Doesn't need to run in from afar but can drop down and stun. Furthermore, when I see a Zerg lets say as a Firebrand and run in YOLO I will die no matter with spec I am and go fight with them. That doesn't change when you are a Thief, Guardian, Engineer, Ranger or w/e. When you go zerging you are with more people so chances are that you aint a Mechanist alone so more Mech's drop down. So yes, I do think it is going to be a strong pet. And if it is as dramatic they have more than enough time to push some more numbers on it and then everybody cries that Mechanists are OP.
  17. As far as I understood the Ranger Pets have around 14 to 20K HP? The Mech had 40K+ and also gets 175% of Toughness and Vitality stat. (Latter is of course based on the traits). But still I am quite sure it will survive much longer then a pet. But we will see in a few hours what will happen. Plus if it is as dramatic as most people make it sound to be in WvW, PvP and high end game content I see them change it number wise. Either with the breakbar being much harder to destroy or give it more health and toughness to survive. Hell they can even give us the toolbelt back or give more passive effects on the Engineer when the Mech is AFK. I really dont see the worries.
  18. So I suppose you haven't pre ordered the expansion then? As you aren't excited for the expansion pack. Anyway, you have Holosmith and you have Scrapper to play if you don't like the PET class. You even have 8 other classes to play with as well. I mean I get the fact that you want a cool new spec for every class but I think you should also understand that not every spec will vibe with you. I like Necro with Reaper and Harbinger but I do not like Scourge even if it is OP so yeah things happen. I am super excited for the Mechanist and wonder how it will play and what kind of improvements we could see on the class after BETA :D.
  19. Haha, yeah I am. I never used the forum really and I see why now. I see potential in every spec as long as it plays fun. I do think that some of the previous specs need some work on their traits but overall I think the idea behind them was fun. Numbers can change.
  20. It seems that they wanted to make Untamed to be more of a Bruiser. I see it more as what Scrapper is for Engineer. A better core Ranger. If you want to DPS you go Soulbeast, if you support you go Druid if you go Bruiser you go Untamed. That is how I see it now. The idea that every Espec has to be better than the other Espec shouldnt be here. Especs stand next to each other and have clear advantages and disadvantages over their other Especs. Anyway, I am not saying feedback is bad. But I feel that some of the yelling I have seen on the forum isn't feedback but feels more like whining. I am not pointing out anyone in this case. But yeah I wonder what we can see as improvements after playing it today!
  21. I wish more people would understand the meaning of a BETA. There is so much noise in the "feedback" that I feel rather good ideas are being buried because so many people just yell in the echo chamber.
  22. Well I am also talking about PvP and WvW. Especially the latter I feel you have the same freedom as in PvE. If you are just looking at high end WvW and PvE then again other classes and especs have only a few optimised builds as well. PvP is pretty similar and from what we have seen currently it does seem that there is a lot of options for the Mechanist to build. In a similar vein as Holosmith and Scrapper.
  23. There are more trait lines you can use. You can still use Firearms, Explosions in two or three different ways if not more. I see possibility with the Inventions trait line for a more tanky option. I see options within the Alchemy trait line, I also see options with the Tools trait line. Signets Rectifier Signet looks good and will be a great passive healing and on demand healing. Not too different from other healing skills. Cooldown seems to be similar to Elixer, A.E.D and Turret. Med Kit seems to be useless from how it is currently implemented. Barrier Signet seems great on the more tanky builds and support builds if you want. But I can see it also being used to just be another use for being a bit more tanky. Works on you as well as your mech. Force Signet great on power specs and works on you and your mech Shift Signet 1200 range shadowstep seems good imo and can see the use you want and you also shadowstep yourself. Superconducting Signet great for the Condi build works both on your mech and you. Overclock Signet I can see it as a great way of getting more use out of your mech. Plus you get your signets to 24 seconds. I for one think there is a lot going on and depending on the interaction with some utilities I can see a great builds popping up. Overall I can see use of taking several signets but I can also see it only be done with a few. I definitely do not think they are mandatory. https://i.redd.it/l1875es4l3v71.png
