No this was never a bug the point of the update was to lower the APM (action per minute) needed to play untamed efficiently by letting the pet do whatever it does automatically before and give you the choice to toggle or not which ability you want to trigger manually. Now all the sub 8 sec or even 10 sec pet ability CD need to be acknowledged and remembered if you camp a bit unleash on pet... Thats another thing you need to track... (sigh) like if untamed had not like 5 buttons to press every sec... We need this to be fixed asap... thats was a nice QOL update for like... 6 days. Also the feline Quickness bug have been adressed but it could have been a good idea to adress all the other species in the same patch since its pretty much the same bug.
  2. Hunter ?? There is no spec called hunter in the game (not yet maybe a engineer one could be cool with tech-trap etc). Yeah the ranger is far from a hunter more a beast-master or nature bound guy, he is far better at skirmish in melee than in range !The ranger in GW2 is closer to Aragorn in LOTR than Legolas in fact ! But if you mean ranger there is generally new pet with expansion release maybe there will be some with the LS5.....wait and see !
  3. *to the longbow(on ranger), FTFY ;) . No.... but if that makes you feel better....that's a bit insulting all the ranger men.... That's not because the longbow is really bad design that the class is braindead...look at the warrior with the rifle its even worse in berseker spec ^^Some weapons are braindead on every profession and that don't make the whole class dumb...okay warrior is maybe not a good example but still the revenant hammer etc...
  4. :( The red moa is my favorite pet, along with the brown bear and the fern hound. Based solely on looks, obviously. Whenever I run open world I usually use one of these - but I obviously swap to more useful pets whenever I am doing PvP or any "harder" PvE content like fracts. ... I do like that little bit of extra range on the red moa F2 compared to the tiger... I honestly feel like the tiger sometimes doesn't give me the ferocity boon even though I am standing right on top of him. :( ... The blue moa is also the only pet that can provide protection (? correct me if I am wrong). Yes the blue moa is in fact the only pet to give protection but ranger got plenty of source of protection hehe ^^'' Ah sry to make you sad but yeah moa , bear and wyvern need some love....they need to give us a patch just to revamp all the pet in game (even the necro ones ! and guard spirit got a treatment too recently !). IMO they need to give a Gap closer to every melee pet or a little jump forward in their AA (this jump shall be really fluid).And for the ranged ones they need to give them a bash or a defensive tool because if they are focused they are like....sitting duck in front of the enemy shooting at point blank... Last thing is that some pet when you swap them really fast and use their F2 directly the F2 goes in CD like if he was stun and thats really annoying....imagine swap from smokescale to bristleback from a fast rapid fire from the F2 and....nop 3sec CD !!Weird thing is thats the newer pet who got this bug ; the feline, birds etc don't have this problem...
  5. Yeah it seems they forgot about the "this skill now use the max value of damage in each gamemode..." change. They could maybe make an overall change to axe to make it full power, let everything as it is but : Remove the bleeding Change it by an impairing movement condition ( cripple or freeze but maybe not immob ) maybe make the axe focus on freeze ?Or change the bleeding to a boon , each attack of the axe could give a different boon ( AA actually is might/ 2 could be aegis ? / 3 could be vigor ? ) This way they could give the range condition weapon role to the shortbow and improve it ? They just seems to have forgot, lets believe it will come soon...

Pig - healing and sustain (egg/seed pod/elixir of heroes) Boar - stun and invalidate condition (Bone Crack / Throw Rock / Skull Fear) Siamoth - Buffs and furtivity ( Plasma / Throw feathers / Blinding tuft) Warthog - damaging conditions ( Throw gunk / Throw scale / Exploding Venom sack ) Therefore the other "double same pet" you've listed are the one from the pantheon of heroes, award from GW1 success track , that is why they are "clone" because other player can't have them and it would give an unfair advantage to those who are playing GW2 but don't have GW1. And it still give (a small) advantage to the others to slot "double same pet" ( falcon / eagle for fast F2 etc...) And finally yes we definitely need a Pets revamp for the purpose of them working as good as the Smokescale.I think we can agree that the smokescale is clearly the best pet in a lot of situation even his F2 is too usefull to not be used... Actually the only usable pet are : Ranged one because they hit fairly often ( Bristleback , Spider , Devourer)These with a gap closer ( Smokescale, Gazelle - even if she generally go far and say goodbye + stuck over an invisible wall when using Charge -...)The pet who Auto attack with a small leap inside their AA ( Feline , Birds , Dogs...)They already made a patch for the pet in the past to give some of them the little jump forward when they AA and it was a great idea but some pet still lack these QoL changes. Especially the Moas...they are utterly trash they can't even touch their enemies in movement with their Frenzied Attack who does multiple hit...but the Gazelle does with Kick ! Even the bears are more usefull and hit more often than these little ostrich birds....
  7. I agree a reduced cast time on hornet sting shall really be a thing...i don't understand how it can be so long for just a skill that shall be use to dodge an attack... On another side the old animation was far better yes and if we just can dodge during the auto + the animations it would be gold point ! And no the sword does less DPS than soulbeast dagger even on power side again...
  8. Not anymore Henry and that auto attack was not so clunky it was really great to track the enemy the clunky part was that you cannot dodge during the attack.... Thay can give us an auto attack that jump to the enemy and make dodge break threw it. Finally no the dagger main hand is better for power damage try it as a soulbeast you will see.
  9. Remember when the ranger was dancing in style and jumping to the enemy with the ancient sword move make me sad they have destroy that weapon just to be able to dodge during it's first attacks. We have now a sword that just attack less than soulbeast dagger , got some dodge in it and thats all....Before that the sword was really alive and it has an utility , stick to the enemy. The auto attack gave us 1 attack and 2 4XX range leaps far better than the dagger they gave us and far more stylish... Don't you fellow ranger think we could have that back ? This weapon really lack a way to be unique it was created to chase the enemy and then poof you are a sitting duck breaking you wrist during the awkward animation... They could still manage to give us the ability to break the AA with a dodge and we all know the ranger could dodge during this AA you just needed to time that dodge...
  10. The title say it all . The Gazel pet Charge attack is often stuck behind an invisible wall interupting her and make it impossible to reach the enemy targeted. I have made a lot of test recently and it is still bugged and it make our pet really Unreliable 50% of the time it is using this skill (really often in fact)
  11. Just as the title say the Gazel Pet actually is bugged the charge attack generally fail to reach the opponent and she is like stuck behind an invisible wall. We really need a fix because this pet will be unreliable 70% of the time on this charge attack, i tested it several time and she fail a lot of time ! Fellow ranger i invite you to do some test also, to enforce this change and get a quick fix !
  12. Hmmmm your swarm give only CC and negate all the damage pet does ? It better be a lot of CC then , and easy to land on enemy or even group of enemies.. I would go for the swarm but maybe some who does damages only / Some damages + CC / some damages + support . Removing the damage would be a damage loss for the whole ranger class because the pet is a PART of our DAMAGE. Plus the bonus stats gain from specific swarm is a bit redundant as the Soulbeast already have those mechanic when merged.

But anyway if you create a spec like this its the same as soulbeast you nearly discard the Pet mechanic to give you the totem...One or the other is not a good idea like the Soulbeast form or the pet out.. We shall stop trying to "transform" the pet in another thing. People play ranger and never take some time to build around its core mechanic, they shall really create an E-spec who use his core mechanics and give them more functionnality like Tempest attunement, Berserker rage attacks , Chrono F5 etc... Just things that modify the pet but not make it a better version of the core one because thats what the dev want , E-spec are an alternative and not a Power-UP of the professions.
