  1. Possibly some rushes related to old content. On the other hand, I successfully did Battle for Lion's Arch and Twisted Marrionette just yesterday. It was a private squad instead of public though. There are some people running meta trains including those two almost every day.
  2. Celestial gives good additional stat for survivability like healing. But whether it gives noticeable difference, I think it is less than what you think it will give you. The idea is that Firebrand have the utilities to make use all of the stat more than other profession/specialization. But at the same time you need to slot in and use protection/healing skills. In this case you would sacrifice damage for survivability. It is not like if you equip Celestial gear, you will see increased performance in every domain at the same time. I would suggest to aim for Celestial Ascended gear since you are currently in exotic. Wizard's Vault currently offers 1 weapon and 3 armor chest for Astral Acclaim.
  3. Buttcape™ powered windforce, staple of Arenanet's design. The ergonomic Buttcape™ is designed aerodynamically to let the air flow upwards inside for the undies to stay on. That's why you see them on many armors. Now with additional Crotchcape™ variant for extra staying power.
  4. Rather than new playable race, I'd rather Arenanet spend time adding story sections for each races. I see a lot of potential interesting storyline involving the different races, or even the old WoW style reputation to delve in each races. As much as I want more contents here, quite clear to see there is a resource limitation on the Arenanet side. I'd rather focus exploring the culture and background of the races instead of making one playable. Some ideas: 1. Tengus, the obvious culprit. Dominion of Winds as new explorable zone. 2. Kodans, Quaggans, Largos home. 3. Sylvaris borne not from the Pale Tree. 4. Olmakhan Charrs 5. Inquest Asurans --- The best workaround for playable is race to make a fully functioning tonic for everything. Combat tonic, for example, is not compatible with mount. Can Arenanet develop a full gameplay tonic to roleplay as different races in every facet, such as mount, fishing, etc?
  5. This is how it works. If you play with 10 accounts, rather than 1 account, it helps Arenanet's performance metric. As a single account player, I couldn't care less whether you play 5 hours in single account or 30 mins each on 10 accounts. If you reap better reward, then you should. It's like BL key farming on level 10 characters. If some people enjoy doing that, then let them do it. Is it unfair, free BL keys? No, because anybody can choose to spend their time like that. The previous login rewards were a lot worse than the current one. I see the current one has gated the RICHLY reward you mentioned more than previous structure. If you want to play multiboxed -- I mean earning AA playing the game with multiboxing -- and risk banning, then it's up to you. If you earn AA on 10 accounts separately then you should reap the rewards.
  6. The Holy Trinity was established by the players with DPS, blasting water field and Time Warp, now it is LESS messier than the patchwork that the players came up with.
  7. I guess depends on you. Experience wise, I took many breaks playing Guild Wars 2. I skipped previous Living Stories, only to play them after I am done with the latest ones. I still enjoyed it. The good thing about SOTO is that it is a brand new arc. The core game, HoT, PoF, EoD and all the previous living stories were all part of Dragons arc. Sure there will be some parts you won't get, but most characters are brand new aside from Zojja.
  8. The fact that the game grew over the years. Dungeons were scrapped and they designed Raid, then Strikes, which requires the need of dedicated healer kind of role. The fact that many players enjoyed these contents as well as playing healer role made them move forward to design more of healer/boon support specializations. Just natural development of a MMORPG. Even during the core era, mesmer already became the de facto boon support with Time Warp. It's just that no other classes were rivaling mesmers in their offensive support (probably only Banner Warriors who came close).
  9. Totally this. Most people consider casual vs hardcore to be content specific such as raids. But I don't think so. What makes GW2 casual friendly is its focus on Horizontal Progression instead of Vertical Progression. No level up after 80 means, you can choose which part of the game you want to do after Core Tyria (which basically acts as a tutorial). And the fact that it is so easy to join any new content after leaving for so long is what makes it casual friendly. Many other MMORPGS are stuck in the horizontal progression, whereas to enjoy new content you need to rank up character levels or item levels. Legendary cosmetics only given out on latest content on the highest level. Whereas in Guild Wars 2, even playing older easier content will still help you progress on legendary cosmetics.
  10. I think what you described is more of a CRPG kind of game. The issue is that Guild Wars 2 is an ARPG with fast paced combat system. Solo encounter design will end up skewing more to reactionary puzzle game akin to Liadri or Turai Ossa from Queen's Gauntlet. And it is difficult to design 2 level of difficulty of puzzle encounters aside from extending HP bar, damage or phases which usually only end up making it unfun without additional mechanics. The issue is not to have 2 difficulty level for story encounters. Any story encounters already easy mode with infinite revives and NPCs engaging the boss to keep them from OOC regeneration. Arenanet just need to design one encounter with medium-hard difficulty and an optional achievement of "defeat boss solo without dying or disengaging". Scruffy 2.0 boss fight that you mentioned is a good example. It's rather difficult to solo, but still possible to do with infinite revives. Easier option is to find group of 5 to finish the instance. To make it challenging, Arenanet should just add an achievement to defeat it solo without dying and disengaging. I would like to see more solo encounters (and longer story content) though. I feel there are a lot of plotlines that were axed due to time and resource constraint.
  11. Hmm? I just did Awakened invasions event in Queensdale and saw many level 80 players there, mostly for the weekly 100 Awakened. Caledon too, but with less level 80s than Queensdale.
  12. One of the key issues of the game. There are many storylines that were simply left behind to push the story forward (and not enough development time to pursue them).
  13. How lucky are you. Been doing Dragon Storm since it started as well, although not daily. But yeah, no frostsaw.
  14. I don't think Wyld Hunt works like that. Wyld Hunt is a calling, like a fuzzy prophecy instead of knowledge. Sylvaris can feel their Wyld Hunt, but only know exactly what their Wyld Hunt is after they act in it. So the Dream itself does not know about Astral Wards. Whether Narcisse share her knowledge with the Dream is a different story.
  15. Tell you what. I would like to see more "sell X strikes" in the strike tab, and see how Arenanet respond. "Selling Raids" has been formally addressed, whereas "Selling Strikes" hasn't. Strikes has been proven to be well received more than raids. Let's see if Arenanet would be okay with more sellers flooding the Strike Tab with "Selling Strike CM/Weekly Clears". But that's not the point of this thread. The point of this thread is specifically, that seller is selling RAID in STRIKE tab, as clearly pointed out in the screenshot. My viewpoint is that it is a misuse of LFG function. Whether it gonna change anything, it is up to Arenanet to decide.
  16. As others said, my premise is not to prevent selling raid. My premise is to prevent selling RAID in STRIKE tab. https://imgur.com/a/q2pdkE6 Read the example above. It clearly said "Selling Raids" as the first words and done in Strike Tab. It is a misuse of LFG Strike Tab. Move them to Raid Tab and I won't care. My point is that these sellers are moving on other tabs to gain better visibility, those "bundles" are just flimsy excuse. As Raid content is dead, whereas Strike content gets new instances with CO and ToF, hence better visibility especially this early in the expansion. This is not okay and should be stopped.
  17. Weird gliding animation on Charr FYI, weird gliding animations on Charr and Norn. Why can't they be Dr. Strange too? I hope these are not deliberate and Arenanet can fix it asap. I am sure they already have Dr. Strange pose in Dagda's phase of Amnytas meta.
  18. Wow, thank you for these. I never noticed since I only ever played male character. Quite sad to see what happened in SoTo. I do believe that the main character should represent the player. What's the point of character customization if that's not the case. And Arenanet pushing their own view on the main character is a step too far. Now, we all know what views Arenanet is leaning to with how loud Yao was. I do dislike Yao, not because of their pronoun, but because I find them cringy. I still feel it is alright for Arenanet to make character like this, as it is their creative right, but not towards the main character as it is the player's blank canvas. Arenanet should understand that their playerbase consist of many people with different views. Some similar to theirs, some might be the total opposite. And Arenanet should respect all differing views, not just the ones they find comfortable. Pushing their own views to the main character totally kills it for some people. At the very least, they should be able to make their scripts absolutely neutral of these pronouns, by avoiding all of them.
  19. To what end? They could bundle it with other things and put it other tabs as well. They could put in Amnytas Tab : "[RMT] Selling Raids | Rift Essence Bundle | Progress Both Legendary Armor | RMT.GG." These leechers are moving to other tabs cause they know they know they get more visibility outside of Raid Tabs. Strikes received new contents, while raids did not. And they are still selling raids! This stupid bundle is not an excuse. Don't give them more allowances. Or they gonna leech on more area of LFG just to get more visibility. If you gave them space on raid tab, then lock them on raid tab. They are selling raid on a non raid tab. And you know the reason: more players visit strike tab than raid tab. Please Arenanet, rework your policies and LFG. Don't let this fester even further.
  20. At the same time, most people recruited by the Ward are the outcast, those who didn't fit in their old society. In Sylvari's case, either the Soundless/Nightmare Court which likely do not share their knowledge through the Dream (or can keep it from being shared) . Ithil (part of Mabon's collection) shared he was part of Nightmare Court before joining Astral Ward. Caithe too, from before, could keep her knowledge of dragon's minion from being shared to other Sylvaris in LW2.
  21. Unknown... Mursaat?: Traveling through the Mists can be taxing on the mind. Not Taimi: They've got experience with this kind of thing. You'll pull through, huh? Not Taimi: Hi there, Commander. Been a while. Burly Norn: We need to keep moving, Zojja. How's your friend doing? Zojja: They're fine, they're fine! Little rift-lagged, is all. <Character name>: Rift-lagged... and... Zojja? What are you doing here? Dagda: You brought the Harbinger? To kill me...? Zojja: They're here to help! They're a friend! Dagda: They're here to end me, as they've ended so many others. I see, these are the excerpts of what you mentioned. In my opinion, I still feel this is a cost cutting/content cutting measure, whereas they don't need to include multiple voice lines to differentiate he/she. These lines were so easily missed and not in your face like Yao. Either way your feedback is valid and Arenanet could make changes to it. At least, it is possible to change the script to exclude any politicized pronoun. For example: They're fine => Should be fine. They're here to help! They're a friend! They're here to end me as they've ended so many others => We're here to help! We're allies! You are here to end me, like all the others you have slain.
  22. What are you looking for in a class? I have played both Spectre and Guardian classes. (PVE) Spectre at the moment, does not function well as healer. The healing mechanic requires another player to do proper positioning, the numbers aren't great either. As a damage dealer, it is great and effective doing condition. Plays more mid to close range due to scepter (900 range) and wells (600 range). But the rotation can be a bit boring (Scepter 3 - shroud - repeat). I've been enjoying both Firebrand and Willbender as well. Both are well rounded specializations.
  23. Again, in which part of the content the Commander was called they/them? I really really never noticed it. All I heard was commander or wayfarer. Please be specific on the chapter and instance.
