  1. The semantics card again. I stated that the zones were fairly non-linear with the usage of fairly being because of the shortcuts. You countered this by saying that the maps are "NOT linear at all". Since you countered by statement that they were 'fairly linear' you must not accept that there are degrees of linearity; either its linear or it's not. Based on your response, you feel that they are not. It's just ridiculous that I state that the zones are fairly linear, you respond that they are not linear at all, I refute what you say, and then I'm somehow the one arguing semantics. This isn't the first time in the thread that you've done this either. As for not responding to the other points of your post, I was essentially done with this thread or rather with the discussion with you. I only responded because of that part of your posted that clearly showed exactly what you have been doing in this thread. You use the semantics/victim cards whenever backed into a corner or you twist/manipulate arguments to suit yours. At this point I've proven my point and I'm done but feel free to continue to do the same in response to this post.
  2. Do you know what linear means? By what you seem to be implying, Mario Kart courses would be would be considered “not linear” if they have one or more shortcuts. “Not linear at all” means that it would fall at the absolute other end of the spectrum meaning completely nonlinear as how could it be anything but that if it completely lack linearity. I guess the zones are open world…
  3. You're using the victim card now? What about the OP and me who were giving our opinions and didn't want to be "bitched at" by you coming from the Lore subforum? Hypocrisy much? Maybe if you were creating counter arguments instead of manipulating them instead, things may have progressed differently. The zones are fairly linear. Yes, the first time doing a zone will take a lot of time compared to subsequent runs but that's how all things go. There's no reason to not use the shortcuts when you're just trying to complete the zones for the bauble bubbles. The ones in zone 2 of both maps have achievements tied to them including a daily which we just had; they're not exactly secret. The shortcuts in W2Z3 are also clearly marked as well as the one at the start of W1Z1. I don't see why the whole experienced vs casual argument had to be brought in where the definition of 'casual' is often twisted/tailored to support whatever argument the person using it is making. I spend 40 minutes every day doing relaxed clears until I have enough bauble bubbles for the new skins and the remaining weekly weapon skin box. The gulf you're trying to imply is not as wide as you're making it out to be. Anyway, this is diverting away from the discussion which was about feedback for the test level. You can agree or disagree with what I said; I don't really care.
  4. Semantics? You're the one that's conflating length with difficulty and when I countered saying how quickly zones can be completed, you now are claiming semantics? Seriously? Please stop trolling.
  5. Nothing that you said was towards me and yet you had quoted me. It helps to not quote someone if you’re not going to even respond to what they wrote in what you quoted. It takes six minutes each to clear W2Z1 and W2Z2. It takes 8 minutes to clear W2Z3. While what you say technically is true, it doesn’t apply to SAB.
  6. Length and difficulty are two different things. Please don't conflate them. We'd have to look back and see what the reasoning was whether it was because of the difficulty, to cut down on the time needed to complete the zone, or both. The shortcut at the beginning is a very small time savings and the one in the clouds doesn't equate to much considering that the zone released with a better shortcut. The two that they put in zone 3 are more meaningful as they both cut the overall completion time by more than half.
  7. Is it though? I never said that they weren't... I simply said that I didn't like the coloring of the yellowish dirt. They could have made it more brown instead. Why argue against my opinion by saying something ridiculous? I said I disliked the coloring of the ropes. Please read my post entirely.
  8. I don't like the coloring of the dirt and rope of the bridges. Maybe less yellow? It just appears to clash too much with everything else to me.
  9. Almost every game has rewards that are only available from a specific game mode. The second you make the rewards universally obtainable throughout a game, people start looking for the optimal way to acquire them and the content suffers.
  10. It's a good introduction for new players on what to expect for the most of the group content released during later episodes and likely going forward as well. If all that they care about is the story, there's nothing to worry about with perhaps some hiccups during LS2.
  11. I guess it depends on whether you're NA or EU but in the end it doesn't really matter.
  12. Burn the trees. For the waterfall, you need to start jumping when you're at the top.
  13. People have through the old champ train and by killing yellow mobs off and on over several weeks.
  14. I only found it after stumbling into the cave for the first one and then proceeding to check behind every waterfall. It seems that was the theme on how to get the chests or at least to start on the path for them.
  15. It’ll probably help to watch a video of someone making the jump but I believe it was from where the green bauble was. Like, I stood on top of the green bauble, turn around to face the waterfall, and then jumped.
  16. Other than the boss fight(s) that drag it out, it's fairly quick and easy to get to the end. I dislike W2Z1 because of the raft section as it's boring. Edit: It takes 10 minutes to complete world 1. W2Z1 and W2Z2 each take 6 minutes. You can beat the yeti in W2Z3 within 4 min but the two part boss fight adds another 4 minutes. The world 3 test zone takes about 5 minutes to complete but, unlike the other zones, you have a high risk of having to start over (at a checkpoint) so your clear time can potentially be higher.
  17. For #1 just stand on the beam where the green bauble is and then jump into the waterfall. #2 is right after those platforms that disappear and reappear. There's a green bauble at a plateau. Face the waterfall where those disappearing platforms were and jump off to enter a hidden tunnel behind the waterfall. For #3, you want to go to activate the final checkpoint before the boss and then backtrack to the part with the wooden fences. You can jump over/through one of them using a ledge on the ramp up. You then proceed to the green bauble against the waterfall. When at the green bauble, go through the waterfall and it should be very straight forward from there. Be prepared to do jumps where you'll need to jump out and back in to curve around vertical beams. I'd honestly just check YouTube as I'm sure people have videos up by now.
  18. May have? They specifically stated quite some time ago that they were working on it. Not to mention that they’ve added new things with the SAB festival every year that it was available which costs time/money. Not to mention the development of SAB itself, and fixing it years later when they brought it back, that costed time/money.
  19. The issue is that, unlike other MMOs, ArenaNet doesn't invest in creating endgame content. The closest that we've seen in years are strikes and a fractal that's supposed to be release maybe sometime this year. Even the amount of content that they release with their updates is subpar to other MMOs. They also just take so long to create stuff for some reason. What happened to the efficiency that they had when developing the game over 10 years ago? What's helping GW2 out right now is that there is no subscription so a lot of veteran players just stop playing the game and then come back whenever they eventually release something new. Of course those players will not be back for long, before going on another hiatus, if they continue to release subpar updates such as with the one we got about a month ago.
  20. Well that is completely false. There's also that illogical argument that others cannot develop more SAB worlds as if it's somehow only possible for those original developers who created the first two.
  21. That's not a really strong basis to be using.
  22. Because GW2 is doing so well… There are better options available. That would be like deciding to make a live action film of The Last Airbender and letting someone like M Night Shyamalan direct it.
  23. Did you not notice the part where I said "automate gameplay to flat out hacking" with the bolded part being what you conveniently ignored? I read your sources and none of them backing up your assertion that the unreal 5 engine is for first person shooters. You first made the claim so it's on you to back it up which you have yet to do. What about the rest of my post where I countered your assertion about GW2 not requiring gameguard, xsign3, vanguard, or any other rootkit to detect cheating somehow shows how strong the engine is? Oh look. An MMO that is using UE4. https://www.bladeandsoul.com/en-us/game/unreal-engine-4-update And another which is Bless Online. https://steamcommunity.com/app/681660/discussions/0/1734336452581660881/?l=latam Lost Ark https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Ark_(video_game)#Development Other games also include Mortal Kombat 11, Sea of Thieves, Shrek 2, Tetris Effect, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5, Zumba Fitness, Nascar 21, Goat Simulator, Kingdom Hearts 3, Hoqwarts Legacy, and so on. Clearly those are all first person shooter games... /s
  24. Unless you have anything from the developer that states that it is a first person shooter engine, rather than anecdotal info about the first generation of it being developed for their first person shooter almost 30 years ago, then you really haven't proven anything. GW2 not requiring "gameguard, xsign3, vanguard, or any other rootkit to detect cheating" does not show how strong the engine is. This is fairly evident by players who can automate gameplay to flat out hacking. They only get in trouble if players report them and if ArenaNet cares enough to act on those reports.
