  1. Source? Here are several games being developed (rumored or announced) using that engine which expand across all genres including MMOs. https://gamerant.com/all-confirmed-unreal-engine-5-games/ No where on the engine developers website do they state that it is a first person shooter engine. https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/unreal-engine-5 Did you make that up?
  2. The inactivity timer resets whenever you get out into combat. ArenaNet doesn’t do anything about AFK players and the penalties are more like a slap on the wrist than an actual deterrent. They have no system that flags these accounts who do this for days, or even weeks, nonstop with no breaks. The report system doesn’t work. Your only option is just to pretend that they don’t exist. The only action you’ll see from them is locking threads about it as an effort to sweep it under the rug.
  3. What you said had little to do with what I said. So you use it all the time on the water? Maybe read the first sentence that you cut out when you quoted my post. You're completely missing my point otherwise. Perhaps read the OP's post again? As a reversal of what was done in regards to my post you quoted, it seems you instead only read the first sentence of theirs and ignored the rest.
  4. Well there isn’t that much water content being added to the game. It’s probably one of the least used mounts as well which doesn’t help.
  5. Nice necropost. It's actually mentioned in the game if you read the achievements. There are also a ton of guides showing how to unlock these as well. So... the post complaint is nothing.
  6. There's a difference between saying that someone is wrong for suggesting something and disagreeing with what they are suggesting.
  7. So you’re saying that there’s a greater than marginal number of players who would come back only for a new race and would not have if there wasn’t?
  8. To be fair though, it wasn't one of the best written achievements in the game
  9. The likelihood of a new race being the determining factor as to whether someone new starts playing the game, or a previous player picking it up again, is marginal at best. When I say determining factor, I'm referring to players who would not be playing if the new race wasn't introduced. How likely are you to pick up playing WoW if they added a dragon race if you previously were not interested in playing that game? Given GW2's marketing, you probably wouldn't even hear about it if you weren't already keeping up with the game whether it be to start playing it or to come back. Those that they do happen to attract would unlikely to even come close to covering the costs to implement the new race as well as the costs to maintain it going forward. We're looking at an additional 6 skin variations for every armor set as well as several new voice actors for each gender to list a couple of the costs.
  10. Technically it doesn't resolve any of the issues that I had brought up. What happens if an expansion introduces an entirely new race that isn't represented in the game and that race is now playable? Are we going to retcon everything and assume that everyone knew of them? This is assuming that the expansion's story involving that race doesn't theoretically preclude them from existing prior to that expansion. A lot of the other existing races wouldn't make sense with the personal story and probably many parts of the living story. My one question to you is: What value does adding a new playable race bring to the game to justify the additional costs? To add a little more to this, I'm referring to something that couldn't be achieved without the race itself being playable.
  11. Cost and that the value is fairly limited That's like saying that a new outfit in the gem store would bring a lot of gameplay value. A new race adds nothing but the visual appearance of your character. Anything else can be achieved without adding a new race. You would be but many others wouldn't. This exact same argument was made for the additional of legendary armor for WvW and sPvp. People made the argument that they didn't need a new skin and now others complain a few times a year about not having unique flashy skins. This would not work as then players who want to play a particular race as their main when starting out on the game would essentially be locked out of all story content released prior to the addition of that race. Why? Race has no impact on class. This limitation/issue is self-created.
  12. Please provide an example of where legendary armor is a requirement in GW2?
  13. Well considering that you responded to their post about people wanting to play day to day politics to play IRL instead by bringing up the charr civil war...
  14. More world bosses but only if the fights are interesting and engaging. Most of them are just people standing at one spot with players smashing their faces at the keyboard until it dies. ArenaNet could just go the same route as they did with the EoD legendary weapons and just create copies of existing world boss events but recolor them so that they're "different". Think about it, if all you do is just stand there and mash keys, how is one world boss any different from another other than location and appearance. A lot of people praise the EoD legendary weapons with the recolored skins, so if they have no issue with those, they'd have no issues with recolored world bosses.

  16. Wait another week or so. Other areas of the game tend to be dead when new content get released.
  17. An hour is being generous unless you're counting all of the open world filler that doesn't add much to the story.
  18. So how are we supposed to replay the instances if it technically doesn't complete? I believe we had this exact same complaint during LS5 with the DRMs when they stuck a particular story instance among them. I saw that they pinned the waiting on a new chapter.
  19. I stopped crafting them altogether when I saw the large amount of account bound currency (karma and spirit shards) that I would need.
  20. I’m glad that I was wrong and they appear to have held off on grindy achievements like in LS5. I’m not a fan of more of the open world becoming part of the story and especially when the dialogue can be easily missed when waypointing.
  21. Regarding masteries useable on all maps, I don’t mind this so long as the developers do not have to go back to make them work. This includes adding jumping mushrooms, updrafts, leylines, and so forth. I’m all for masteries that are designed for general use though but I find that unlikely to occur except for a small few as it seems that most are just used to pad the mastery system.
  22. Considering that the EoD legendary weapons are basically the same except for color, I don't see this happening.
