  1. Can you still play on Steam deck if you bought GW2 through the ArenaNet website but not on Steam? I know that you can link ? GW2 to Steam using the provider portal, but does this let you use it on the steamdeck?
  2. so you can play on Steamdeck through the provider portal if you don't have on steam? that is dope
  3. Hey, I have been playing Necro, specifically enjoying Harbinger. I beat all the expansions besides End of Dragons which I will start soon. I was wondering if it makes sense to change to Theif. I really like the Necro but the theif when trying the elite specs in pvp feels good too. Part of me wants to continue on my necro because I have played all the other content on this profession and I already have the elite specs unlocked. On the other hand, I do not love the race I picked and I do not want to re-make a necro and grind out the elite specs again. It also feels good to have everything completed on one character. I want to complete all the content and do raids while I wait for the next expansion to play. Which class is better for raids and group content? Which class do you have more fun with? Which do you recommend playing overall? Is it easy to get your elite spec doing end of dragons content?/ What is the best way to get hero points? (if I stick with Necro) Is it even worth switching races and grinding out hero points again? I only have time for 1 profession and I don't like the feeling of repeating things if I wanted a different race but the same profession. I really appreciate any feedback.
  4. I am doing the story right now and do not have any elite specializations yet. I also like playing pvp as harbinger and eventually would like to get into group content like raids. Is there something I can pick up from the trading post?
  5. thank you, I think it is between Necro and Guardian for me. I tried some pvp builds and had fun with both. I also loved harbinger even tho it is not a melee
  6. I was also never a fan of healing
  7. I need help choosing a profession. I tried them all and found it hard to choose. If it helps I like to play death knight in WoW. I love melee and greatsword playstyles but I also had fun playing necro and Mesmer. I think my choices are among Necro, Warrior, Rev and maybe Guardian or Mesmer. I am new so I don't know much about the playstyles and difficulty but I want to play a class that is fun but also wanted in group content and pvp
  8. Hello, I did trials in the PVP lobby on all the classes and I like warrior and revenant the most. I am a new player so I am not sure what it is like to do any endgame content. Can someone tell me which is better for pvp/raids/ow? Also, which is needed more in group content? What do you think is more fun/rewarding? anything to help me make my choice. Thank you!
  9. Thank you for this break down it is very helpful! I wanted to add is it worth boosting to 80 and then doing story and expansion quests? or would it be better to just level through it
  10. I want to enjoy my time and try all the content the game has to offer on a new character. Iv leveled a warrior years ago but it seems boring now. I started a Mesmer and it’s been really fun. Is a Mesmer going to be a bit too tricky for someone who isn’t new to mmos but is new to gw2? I have a lot to learn about gw2 and want to play something I enjoy which has been Mesmer but I also don’t want to overwhelm myself. My other option is necro which I have been having fun with as well. I like doing dps, and tanking in mmos Iv played in the past. I want a class that I can play in a raid eventually and in pvp that I won’t suck at lol. What I like about Mesmer is that it’s so different form anything Iv played, I have played classes like Necro before but I really like that you can attack in melee too. Iv been switching back and forth between these two and finally decided to hear other peoples opinions and recommendations
