  1. Gonna throw this out there, but you guys know that in other games when new content gets released there's a beta test as well. However it's only to a select few, Guild Wars instead will do an "early release" trial with a beta. Keep in mind the expected day of release isn't until later. Also if you've never worked with code, 1 line of code that causes a bug could completely destroy everything else. It didn't necessarily have to be the overall system, give them time. Not sure where a few got the idea that they gave up either simply because they pulled it instead of keeping it live. If there was a bug present making WvW almost unplayable, why would you want to keep trying to play and get tilted at an already known issue? Play with the old system for a bit longer and stay tuned for the next date for testing. Have a great weekend! o7 Praise Joko!
  2. I understand what you're saying, keep in mind it's still a beta. The official attempt for a proper launch would come along with EoD. Anything before then would be a huge plus πŸ˜„ gotta stay positive, I'm sure they already felt the pressure before today and now it has to be even stronger. Keep supporting the devs, it'll be here before you know it!
  3. I can tell you confidently that they haven't given up on it. They want to make this a reality as much as we want to play it. Like someone mentioned, they probably also felt excited to release by today and the bug wasn't caught. Hang in there πŸ₯° we'll get alliances soon!
  4. There's bugs with other classes yes, but it was still playable. Imagine playing WvW for like 20 minutes, seeing a queue of 40+, then getting logged off because of a bug and now you have to wait in the queue. Now think of that happening a few times. Would you even want to try and play? It's better that they pull it and work on it with patience than trying to do a hot fix that could potentially make it worse. It's definitely a bummer that it happened, but at least you know the devs are caring about the quality than just saying you get what you get.
  5. I'd say submit a ticket, I'm sure they'd reply and try and help you out in a timely manner.
  6. I mean that's why it was a beta test attempt and not a full release. This is nowhere near their intention of a final product.
  7. To reply to this, there's still a slight between pure PPkers and those that alternate between PPK and PPT. I don't enjoy PPTing, but I know I have to if I want to stay in a certain tier or if I want to face a certain tag the following week. Then I'll switch to a mix, starting with retaking home bl, then going to whoever is in 1st and going after their t3, t2, t1, etc and flipping to ours. I think it's important to have a mix or else you're affecting the game for everyone in a meh way. I'll K Train, but I'll prioritize wherever the enemy can defend first than simply going for something paper or against a dead time server since it's not as fun, at least not personally.
  8. If you hop on a server discord you could find those fighting guilds, but they run during their own raid times. Not usually an all day thing. Hopefully with alliances and the rework of the reward system we could see a nicer population of those wanting to work together. The downside right now is most people come into WvW for gifts of battle or if they have and xp event. I would really love if more people were inclined to join discord or at least want to play WvW for the fights. Might just come off as complaining from me, but I can agree that a lot of people will go into WvW just to get dailies and dip out or go their to farm their GoB and then head out. The rewards aren't worth enough for someone to stay there long enough to actually want to learn proper fighting mechanics and fighting in either a zerg or havoc group πŸ₯° I'm excited to see how alliances will develop our current state of WvW since a lot of fightmanders are excited to be around a community of people that want to PPK as well πŸ˜„
  9. I will continue to tag up on Tue/Thu/and Fri for GoM, just need to gain my following again πŸ˜‚ I logged in and had a few people say why should we follow you, I've never heard of you before πŸ₯² I guess it's time for me to return properly and start not only recruiting for WOLF again, but to hopefully recruit and train some future commanders as well
  10. Oh god I'm a potato on FB πŸ˜‚ I tried it, not for me. I do command on a chrono or my rev. I do it because I feel comfortable surviving and I can control the tempo of the way my group fights with these classes. First and foremost, the role of a commander is to stay alive and control big things that can alter the outcome of a fight. Their subgroups role is to also keep the commander alive and mostly full of support like a scourge, a firebrand, and a medi scrap. That would be ideal to keep you alive as long as they're all doing their part. The tough part about starting as a commander is having a starting point. You tag up, you fail, people leave. I suggest find a commander from your server discord that tags up when you play. Talk to them about following them and learning to command. Start playing with them in your Commanding class and build. Ask them questions after fights and learn why they did what they did. Then eventually ask to take on some fights and pass the tag back and forth until you yourself can be a proper commander. Other than that, most things will come from experience like reacting to portal bombs, stealth, split pushes, etc
  11. I'm hot garbage that never plays ranked πŸ˜‚ I'm like rank 30 or 31. I live in WvW sorry πŸ™‚πŸ™ƒπŸ™‚ so combat against players isn't new, but combat where there is points to capture and fight around is definitely still uncharted territory.
  12. Yeah it feels like a very selfish class, but then again it's not really a support class at least not in this stage. The best for of support would be constant pressure to keep them off your teammates or at least second guess engaging someone when you're coming to join the party πŸ˜„
  13. Lol this has happened before when fighting CD and old members have their alts with me and their mains on CD. They'll claim an objective and then we have a back and forth war of claiming objectives πŸ˜‚ yeah change restrictions to who can claim. I usually had it off for all except myself and officers during raids, then open to 2nd rank and above outside of raiding times.
  14. Tbh I started in GoM and tagged up at like level 30 WvW since no one tagged up. I got a few small objectives, got into a tower and got ring up and got stomped by a zerg. I got flamed to the point that I ended up leaving the server. I eventually moved to CD and enjoyed my time, but felt we hit a plateau and saw that Indo was moving his guild to a new server and then my LT suggested we should do it as well. Talked it over with both and turns out we moved back to GoM however I was around rank 800 or so at the time and having been Commanding since level 30 and working with Indo, Kexx and a few other commanders, I eventually got the confidence confidence command bigger scale fights and not shy away from failure. It's honestly been a roller-coaster, but if anyone is hesitant to tag up, just do it. Learn from your mistakes, ask other tags for help πŸ˜„can't help if you don't ask. Community in GoM were so welcoming when we moved over by the way, it could've been just a bad day for me and being a new player to the game and this style of MMO that it probably felt worse than what it truly was.
  15. It's tough being a commander, keep in mind there's a lot of studying of classes and keep up to date with what they can or can't do. Tactics that you learn and patterns you detect from experience. Not really something I can see an AI doing at least not yet, this would still require proper builds and staying on tag. Biggest things commanders care about, stay on pin, join discord and mute (talking is rarely ever required unless you want to), and run a proper build. I don't care too much if you're experienced or brand new. I can work with that as long as the other 3 requirements are met. This is if you're trying to run a proper squad. If you're trying to PPT only, then that doesn't require an AI. Throw up a tag and say you're ppting, pugs will join or simply message team chat saying you're pptting. As for running private tags, this comes from frustration of having random try to join, but not wanting to join discord or have a proper build. The purpose of going private is to A) focus on your own raid going on and to improve your party synergy, B) to not confuse another tag's group if on the same map, and C) is to limit randoms joining you. I personally run open about 90% of the times I tag, but occasionally I'll go private to work on my core group of players.
