  3. Doesn't feel the same. Fighting for your world with anyone from your world isn't the same thing than fighting with your community for a world you are not attached too. It's the same difference between "protecting your land" and "being a mercenary for a foreign land"

  5. Hi, for sure there is plenty of feedback posts, but I wanted to ask one specific question. For a player who is used to play Kalla with SB and dual swords, is it worth to play Vindicator ? From my perspective Alliance skills feel less rewarding than Kalla's. So, I though : "ok no matter, let's just use the GS". But doing this, I both lose the SB (and I like a lot playing with a bow) and Kalla's utilities. It feels like I have to sacrifice so much just to play with a GS.
  6. "Big capitalist industries" are already looking forward to. But sure, NFT games are for the best player experience, nothing about the best way to make players throw money. Enthusiast, doesn't mean "expert" nor "skilled". That's exactly why you are "enthusiast", not "skilled". Just one question : What in game activity generates added value and would therefore create wealth ? Are you really expecting the taxes to stay "small" ? Are you really expecting countries and governments to let private companies tinker their own monetary sovereignty and acquire the possibility of "beating currency" ? First thought: a big no ! Second thought : why would I have to spend real money to buy anything in game ? Because that's what NFT speculation is ? Third thought : how do you regulate a NFT money when it's really miss liquidity/ Even more, when in an mmo you have a part of the players that disappear over time, so the creation of eternal savings.
  7. 1&2 With an alert system, you get a better reward if your faction win. So no, you should'nt take only sentries and camp, or you will get no reward at the end. 3 If there were enough WvW players at first, Pve boys should be the ones inside the queue.
  8. "Ko" and "Mo" use the unit octet, referring to an 8-bit byte. "KB" and "MB" use the unit byte. Standard bytes are also 8-bit, but not mandatory. 12, 30, 60-bit bytes also exist.

  12. You really tend to forgot LW S3. Episode 2, 3 and 5 were about Primordus, and we got 2 maps around were he lives. Since LW S3 Ep 3 (November 2016) we know that : So since 1329 AE the characters know the weakness of Primordus and how to defeat both Primodus and Jormag. But they had to wait until 1333 AE for the two dragons to reawake. And then in 1334 AE, because Aurene is now an elder dragon, able to absorb magic, the characters can use their weakness. They only needed a plan to force the dragons to fight each other and they made it. Primordus and Jormag didn't need a full LS or a full map where we go fight them (like we did for Zaithan or Mord) because the best way to kill them was always to make them fight each other. Like the Commander said : "I definitely wouldn't object to having a dragon fight with me rather than against me."

We have already destroyed : - The Royal Chamber Lab in Fahranur - The Lab Sigma-05 - Rata Primus (something as bis as Rata Sum) - Kleptotronic Advanced Designs - Thaumanova Reactor (ok, that's one, they blown it themselves) - The Funhouse - The Inquest Outer Complex (Twice, first during Caithe's young and second during an ow event) - The Infinite Coil Reactor - The Inquest Field Lab - The Bauxite Alchemicals - The Inquest Base KD-4 And I'm sure I may forget some others. Just how many asura are working for the Inquest ? How many funds does the Inquest have ? How fast do you build so huge labs ?
  15. ... ... ... ... Do you realise rally is the main way to come back from DS ? If you really lose versus a group where people are wasting time doing revive, you have a real problem. We are talking about zerg here. And because in WvW, killing a player will only rally ONE other player, you can't rally your full biggest squad just by killing one people from the smallest squad. That's why, rally and so DS doesn't favor the biggest squad.
  16. Another horrible, frustrating and easy thing to fix is : 2 premade from the same guild VS Pug. Just happened to me right now, very boring. Just add in the algorithm a line to check the guild before putting together2 premade.
  17. That's exactly what Cuks called "For small scale it's quite fun." When he talks about "group play" he means group as large as squad. And yes, he is right, NDS tends to favor the biggest squad, because NDS favor the biggest AOE dps. If you turn the NDSE to a monthly feature, then the reshuffle or ladder or match up (call it as you want) is gonna be a mess.
  18. You shouldn't focus only one the Down State to say if there is or not an unbalance between classes. It's as inaccurate as if I said armours are unbalanced between a warrior and a mesmer, it's overpowered on warrior and useless on mesmer. There are unbalanced parts everywhere between classes. Unbalanced tankyness. Unbalanced CC. Unbalanced CC clears. Unbalanced armours. Unbalanced burst. Unbalanced IA. Unbalanced heal. Unbalanced sustains. Unbalanced DS. Balance is about the big picture, not one aspect picked out of the others.
  19. Queues aren't a proof. There are queues only because PvE boys come get their +XP buff. Make the same event, without the bonuses and the queues may be a proof. 1. Somehow I understand what you mean. It's a big change about how to start and how to win a fight. Usually, you need to take care of enemies coming back from down state. It's not because you won the first fight, than you will win the battle. On the other side, it's not because you lose the first engagement, than you will lose the battle, usually. That means, usually, you will prefer a stronger dps on a small group of enemies, just to be sure downed people will be dead. During those no Down State Event, you can prefer a weaker dps, but on more enemies, because you don't need the extra dps to kill downed people. That's truly game changing, that's why it's an event. It's a real new rule of engagement. 2. Not a real problem, more people are going to die. 3. As I said in 1. It's a event, it's a new rule of engagement, it's temporary, you need to adapt to it. 4. How many ? I would be very surprise if more than 1% of the WvW players spend real money on those finishers. There is nothing here about good or bad players. It's just so different to play with or without down state. A good player, should take in consideration that down state is a thing. That his enemy will go down state and he will need to kill him for sure ; that he can go down state and he can still come back before death (from rallying, from reviving or from vengeance) A good player should also temporary adapt to no-down state event. This is exactly why a permanent no down state is illogical for WvW. 1 player should not kill 10 players and flee. There is too many mechanisms in GW2 (burst aoe, evade, stealth) that will create illogical and frustrating situations.
  20. Not exactly, Matchmaking will look for gold players to play with (and against) the high plat one inside the gold players who are waiting the longest in queue and have been put at the end of the queue. (Yes, more you wait, more you are place back in the queue).
  21. That's the reason why you shouldn't afk while in the queue. You should always quit the queue before 2 min and start again. You may wait more time this way, but you will get better quality game.
  22. Same here. Mainly because the story side of the game is unrewarding. You get better rewards within a bus, farming Open World bosses.
  23. I think you should remember the game is named "Guild Wars", not "Pve Wars". Of course, the only game mode than allows guild wars must be a PvP environment, not a PvE one. You can "magically generate more players" with big incentives. Try to mimic Alerts from PS2. Instead of giving an "outnumbered buff" ; launch an Alert (visible for any players playing in PvE or PvP from the corresponding worlds) when one of the server is dominating too much. Give a huge Alert bonus for a short period of time, a bonus that will matters for PvE and PvP. Give at the end of the Alert rewards useful outside WvW. If you do this, you will "magically generate more players" coming from PvE or PvP because they want the Alert bonus.
  24. Just remember that GW2 PvE had no end-game when designed. Fractals came later, same for raids. They were added because Wow-like PvE boys wanted their hard challenges, their titles and unique armors. Using the same design than GW1, GW2 end-game was only about : achievement for the PVE part and PvP for everyone. You could either chose to go to Structured PvP and play with a team (and in a 5vs5 premade you will feel essential) Or you could chose to go to WvW where premade teams rule over the PuG ones. Of course, this game is named GUILD wars 2, so if you don't play with your GUILD, in game modes designed for guilds, it's not surprising than you fell "non essential". If you chose to play the easy mode : dungeons and PUG everywhere, it's your choice. Now, try to join any competitive guild, and you will feel essential again. Note than you will then play the GUILD WARS part of the game. Yes there was an hint in the title of the game.
  25. No they won't add a new race. Forget about the Tengu. They won't add a new profession, Guild Wars 2 balance is hard enough right now, remember ranked PvP and WvW do exist. They won't add new weapons, for the same reason they don't give access to new weapon apart from E-spec, it's would be a technical and a balance nightmare. That's your experience. Some people are here since August 28, 2012 and by February 2022 when EOD will release (if no delayed) it will be 10 years. Guild Wars 1 only lasted for 7 years. When you reason about Mmo, WoW will always be the exception, not the rule. No other MMO will have the success and the long term run as WoW did. And they can do all this (new storyline, new expansion, new location) within GW3. Remember Guild Wars has always had a strong bound to competitive and PvP environment. To implement new game mechanisms you need a new game from the scratch (except the backstory)
