  1. Composting has been a thing for a long time. It has nothing to do with THIS change. This change came THIS year after the mess EoD has created with the research notes. Items they don't want composted aren't in that salvage table. Composting has nothing to do with this topic. Items they decided were "too cheap" for research notes were removed from that table very quickly. Now instead of removing holiday foods and utilities from the research notes salvage table they removed them as a drop at all. Again I remind you all that it was done without even a notice in the patch notes. ANET needs to remove the holiday food and utilities from the salvage table and give us our holiday buffs back as drops in their respective holiday containers.
  2. Food and utilities were removed from ToT and wintersday gifts months ago. Removed without a word in the patch notes. It was already called out and they have done nothing about it. They should have just removed those items from the salvage table, not removed them as drops.
  3. An obligation to work does not mean that a family fun night is off the table. That means it was merely postponed. The parental guardian in question doesn't have a choice. ANET had a choice. They decided to mistreat their players once again. No one told them they had to remove the achievement that actually gave a decent reward IF you could complete it in spite of the problems like the RNG issues. They made the choice to replace it with this useless per character spam that does nothing but annoy. The devs don't even play their own game. If they did they wouldn't make such choices. Doesn't take a whole lot to figure that out. And it still makes no sense that a normal player would defend a game company making such choices. Repeatedly.
  4. Very "weird" to put it mildly, and I thank you for calling it out. I figured those "white knights" would be out shortly to defend ANET. Guess they never heard of real life. The players shouldn't be the ones being judged here for not finishing the achievement yet. The blame should be on ANET. They said it was a permanent achievement. One plagued with terrible RNG issues related to the equipment box at that, and the fact you had to do everything on a brand new character. Just because one player blitzes through it immediately doesn't mean they have any right at all to judge another for trying to do the same so called "permanent achievement" at their own pace. Their reasons for not blitzing through it are their own. There was no warning. There was never an indication they were going to remove the achievement. This isn't how you keep players.
  5. It is a betrayal of trust between the company and consumer. When they say something is a permanent addition for the duration of the game then you should be able to believe it is. They lied. Just because you are willing to shrug it off when they feed you lies doesn't mean others are. A permanent achievement should not be changed in such a way. Improving something is one thing, taking away so called "permanent" content is another.
  6. That was called a new and permanent achievement on release. You cannot compare that to achievements related to something like season one that had been billed as TEMPORARY content. They removed a permanent achievement without warning. What next? The Aurene legendary tricket achievements? Not a good move at all on ANET's part. They need to revert this change. This is the tenth anniversary. Instead of wanting to log in and go back to enjoying things and getting my so called PERMANENT achievements casually, I feel less like logging in at all. Wondering when the next set of so called permanent content is going to be yanked out from under me. This isn't how you treat your players if you want to keep them. This IS betrayal.
  7. I was working through them while doing my latest world completion. I didn't get to finish either. Thanks a ton there, ANET. No better way to kick off a celebration than kicking your players in the teeth by removing yet another feature. First holiday food and utility items removed from the drop table of their respective holiday containers, now this. Do you even want people playing your game anymore? Signs are pointing to that being a big negative.
  8. Not okay. They didn't even put that change in the patch notes. Major changes and they aren't even owning up to it or explaining themselves. If this is how they're going to continue to treat their users they're going to drive their game into the ground. They aren't being "kittens" here, they are being underhanded snakes. Bring back our food and utility buffs in the wintersday gifts and trick or treat bags. If you don't want people salvaging them then remove it from the salvage table.
  9. They never said the armory was going to result in legendaries being ripped from your inventory without any consent and that the item was going to change the function when you use it to make eternity. No, you are NOT going to put blame on me here. That's like buying a car and having the dealer show up later with a team to remove your engine. The "memory of" item needs to be addressed. That SHOULD result in an unbound eternity. I don't CARE if they have to rig it so using the item removes a sword from the armory. It still needs to be addressed. You should also be able to throw an unbound sword in with it for the eternity recipe. Again, can anyone actually confirm the memory item resulting in a bound eternity? Someone that's actually used the items? Or someone that is planning to that can confirm at a later date is fine.
  10. Is it that you just didn't actually bother reading my post, or you don't know what the "Twice Told Legend" achievement is? That title requires two bound copies of the same legendary item. Before the "armory" mess I would have been able to take my second twilight and make that eternity out of it to gift. The "memory of" item needs to be addressed to restore that functionality if it results in a bound eternity instead of an unbound one. Again someone mystic forging sunrise and twilight STILL technically "bind" and get those skins before getting eternity from said forging. The memory items should NOT behave differently. It makes no sense at all for them to behave differently.
  11. Is anyone able to confirm this? I years ago made Twilight twice for the Twice Told Legend title. I made one into Eternity, which I bound. That left me with a remaining Twilight, which I had at times considered making into a second Eternity to gift to a family member. Twilight was my first legendary. My sword was SPECIAL to me. It would have been a very significant thing to make that into Eternity to gift that to become that family member's first legendary. "Memory of Twilight" doesn't hold the same significance for me that my sword actually did. I had planned to start making Sunrise and make that second Eternity as a gift. If that isn't an option now that just CANNOT be "working as intended". Skins are unlocked when you mystic forge an item. Meaning someone putting two unbound greatswords in to make Eternity would STILL get the Sunrise and Twilight skins. If the "memory of" items don't give an unbound Eternity it needs to be addressed so that they DO give an unbound Eternity.
