My initial post with this question was deleted and I was warned because I was "too mean" towards Arenanet for asking this. It was an honest question and I wanted to get an honest answer from Arenanet. Regardless I don't care. The fact that you cannot ask a question like this of Arenanet only proves my point. Feel free to ban me from the forums. I am done with this game and this gaming studio. Best luck to all of you that keep playing GW2 and WvW expecting anything good to happen.

Nothing. Anet said they would be working on restructuring and alliances. Two years later and now its just restructuring. In two years restructuring will probably get axed as well assuming the only wvw dev doesn't bail on this company, but would anyone blame them? And all this comes like 7 or 8 years after alliances was first announced. Anet has no timeline on anything wvw related. If you continue to support this company proceed with caution. 🤪

It kind of sounds like alliances has been axed and we may get restructuring but it will take additional years perhaps. It is hard to know timeline since Anet doesn't really have timeline.

Yes if you both select that guild as your "WvW guid" then when Anet releases restructuring it will put you and your friend on the same "Team". Take this all for a grain of salt as Arenanet has been working on WvW restructuring since 2021. Anet gives very little communication and when they do communicate it usually is bad for WvW. Best advice I could give you and your friend is go ahead and make the guild and when Arenanet finally finishes Restructuring come back to the game so you both can play on the same team.

Send the employees to take a class on effective communication. Especially classes Anet leadership.

WvW was forgotten like 8 years ago. At this point I am just crossing my fingers that people in leadership positions at arenanet are replaced at some point to get some fresh brains on this game mode and the Guild Wars 2 game entirely. The lack of communication from Anet towards WvW is way beyond the point of being pathetic. No game development companies do this to their playerbase, most companies that don't work in the gaming industry don't have such abysmal communication.

Thank you for all the World vs World content the expansion brought with it. World vs World is truly a cornerstone of Arenanet.

Is gold required to open a rift?

Yes, new maps can be less inspired. They are getting released Q4 2023 and Q1 2024.

All of Anet's open positions are for an "Unannounced Project". My guess is it is not Guild Wars 3. It will probably be a Guild Wars 2 mobile app.
