I'm getting this same issue as well - Tried some of the solutions suggested above but that hasn't worked. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game (after deleting the local.dat file) and it only redoes the local.dat file and then doesn't go further. just drops back into the 0kb crash loop.

I'm having this same issue as well. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling now however the reinstall fails and just keeps doing the 0kb thing and closing I've also tried some of the suggestions in this thread as well to no result
