  1. This is a very optimistic take, but not a realistic take. Core issues in code sometimes can't be just smoothed over, you need a full overhaul. Engineers don't always leave good documentarion behind or comment their code. A loss of a subject matter expert on core infrastructure can make it almost impossible to overcome technical difficulties. Plus I have seen the state of mobile MMOs most really only work on auto play or some form of automation because touch screen controls are the least precise way to do things and hotbar based combat is really janky. Is controller support an option? Possibly but agsin unless done correctly like the cross-hotbar setup in FF14 it will be a worse experience. It also means needing to carry a controller with your phone or tablet.
  2. Can't disagree more. A mobile port isn't future proofing, its chasing trends. Not just chasing trends, but chasing trends in a market known for exploiting its user base. If Anet really wants to future proof GW2 they would look into engine upgrades that make things less CPU bound or looking AMD FSR or Nvidia DLSS.
  3. No it isn't a battle pass, there is no paid version, there are no tiers to complete. Its just login, do dailies and weeklies. You get currency for completing dailies and weeklies to spend on rewards. I will admit maybe the reward prices could use some rebalancing. The only thing that makes it like a battle pass is that rewards change every quarter. But cosmetic rewards will always be available so if you wind up just short of a skin you like, you won't miss out on it entirely.
  4. As others have pointed out there has always been some degree of FOMO in this game, missed the free period for a LW release? That is going to cost you some gems. The worst offender has been the gem store, where a skin could be rotated out for a year or longer, never knowing if your when it will reappear. This really isn't FOMO, because you aren't missing out. A cosmetic will always be available on the legacy tab, yes it will cost more than when it was part of that season, but it will be available. Unlock other season passes or battle passes this isn't being monetized. You can't buy skips and you can't buy a premium tier. This a revamp for the current daily system.
  5. G2A keys are acquired in a number of ways: From regional pricing which allows the game to still be sold at a profit in other regions. For example, buying a game in India or Brazil then reselling it in the US or Europe. Key can be obtained from giveaways or buying cheap bundles from Humble Bundle and resold that way. The third way keys are obtained is through buying them with stolen credit cards or stolen PayPal accounts. This is why buying anything from G2A has an inherent risk because if the payment method used to buy the key is charged back, the key will get revoked. In terms of this game that means that the account that activated that key would likely be suspended or banned. G2A also sells you a service called G2A Shield as a "protection" against fraudulent keys, but if G2A's business model was above board you wouldn't need to buy protection. It also isn't like the protection can do anything if you get an account banned for having a revoked key. The best case is you get your money back on the item you purchased.
  6. Maybe this was wishful thinking on my part, but I was hoping the condition damage line on Virtuoso could get reworked into something else. Right now we have a boon support line, a power focused line and a condi focused line. Sounds like a like an elite specialization and more like trying to be Mesmer 2.0 in a clunky way that misses the mark. Given that the blade skill fact was added to greatsword skills and not sword skills, I was hoping this could be treated as Domination+ elite spec. Have a power line, a line of traits that interacts with interruptions like the Domination traitline, then a boon support line could still fit in somehow. I will wait to test this, but I don't see how even with these changes a condi Virtuoso will compete with a condi Mirage.
  7. G2A keys are often sold cheap because they are bought using stolen credit cards or are purchased cheaper in some areas due to regional pricing. However, if you purchased a key that was bought using a stolen credit card and a charge back is issued. That key could get revoked and the account that activated that key would likely get suspended or banned. As long as your main account wasn't purchased on G2A you shouldn't worry about that account getting banned.
  8. Ran into this issue tonight while playing myself which is frustrating. As you can see from the posted images all the conditions were set for the event, but the Wasmaa event just kept spawning every 20 minutes and the chain progressed no further.
