  1. People don't actually like using Scepter, right? That's a little masochistic if true. That weapon on Guardian needs to go the way of the hammer.
  2. Still not holding water. I personally haven't step foot in a raid ever, I abhor fractals, and strikes are great but I rarely do them because I can't stand the LFG experience. The story is a mile wide and an inch deep to me and is basically white noise. I'm an open world spamming casual. The target audience if you will; and I hate just about every bit of EoD. I spent about 20 minutes a day in any EoD map if I'm lucky and I peace the heck out. It's not about doing the right things for the right people. It's about doing the things well. EoD is pretty hamfisted.
  3. I don't think people are against monopolies. As long as people accept the fact that complete balance is impossible, expecting certain classes to fit niche and often monoplized roles is acceptable. It's the flavor of diversity people expect and keep people engaged and hopped up on dopamine. The problem is more just making sure that every class has at least one role where they can shine. Giving every class grey areas of everything though? Like we have now? That's just asking for people to get benched with every bit of empiracal evidence to support it. Homogeneity is bad. It's written in the laws of the universe.
  4. It can be, but you can't say with a straight face that it isn't designed to encourage (putting it lightly) people to skip the farming and swipe. Yes you CAN farm 500k gold for a few mounts you want from the gem store, but you WON'T. You won't. Because you know what 500k looks like. Months of time. As some have alluded to already, a sub fee gives players confidence that almost everything they want in the game can be practically acquired by in-game means, without predatory manipulation. And point me in the direction of whatever kitten needs kicking to get that implemented here, because the fact that I have to exist around delusional people that think the store model is superior is cringe enough rather than actually experiencing it.
  5. I would argue the value of comparing dps is irrelevant, making vaccum dps meters the opposite of useless, at the benefit of being less socially harmful. Relatively, the only factor for determing overall dps is personal dps anyway. If you're not killing bosses fast enough, just assume you're part of the problem, check your Anet sanctioned and designed meters, and get better. When you're not progressing anymore beyond fractions of a percent, you know you're not the problem.
  6. I came here expecting to see at least ONE post about how these legendaries are predatory "P2W" impulse gem conversion strategies. Not a single person? You guys do see what's going on with these legendaries, right? Your answer to why is right there. Not sure why you're surprised.
  7. GW2 will remain off the radar, but it won't be because Anet isn't handing out Skyscales. The worst things about WoW revolve around shortcuts and misinterpreting the expectations of neurotic modern gaming behavior.
  8. Feels like it to me, but I also only do OW and use builds and weapon combos that no group in their right mind would ever allow me to bring into a party. So yeah, if you break the grouped content conventional rules, they are.
  9. This is a reasonable and valid statement that I can accept. What I can't accept is people defending and enabling a divisive practice. It's as if their captors have spared their lives and fed them daily. They kiss their captor's feet and shower them with thanks in return, but behind the curtain their food is being laced with poison.
  10. HoT: We have a OW meta for that PoF: Meaningful choices EoD: Come back in an hour and you might have something to do
  11. This thread is terrifying to me. Over half the people in here are just saying "dude don't gamble. gamble bad, make money go caput" but blatantly missing the point... you're admitting that it's ok that game features are being literally locked behind a wall of statistical uncertainty. As in, you will likely never see the item, ever, unless you cough up the cash for an unpredictable amount of keys. You're ok with being insulted like that? Or are you just really jazzed up on Stockholm Syndrome? Please stop being like this, people. That's just enabling more inconvenience.
  12. They sure are, but my beloved Willbender would like to avoid investing in a blatantly cobbled build for a couple seconds of alacrity here and there, lest I become the scum of the earth for being "selfish". But ohhh boy, when sweaty folks know they can fill the last couple group spots with that juicy little clock buff because the internet said they deserve it... warms my heart...
  13. Maybe that's the point. It's 1 map devoted to 1 stupid event that people don't like, is tiresomely challenging, and gives no reward. You could consider that 1/4 the expansion wasted.
  14. Seems valid. I'm in the middle of washing my hands of GW2 for the 3rd time. This expansion took all my joy for the game and tanked it. Pretty sure lots of other people feel the same. I'm cheering Blizz on for taking some better parts of GW2 other than the stupid Fractal system that they turned into M+ and tarnished the game's rhythm for years to come.
  15. To speak a hard and non-conducive truth, I haven't logged in for the last week. EoD for me has been like getting socks on Christmas morning when I was expected toys. Stuck it out for a couple weeks and the excitement just drained out of me like an exorcism, which is really unfortunate because I had been enjoying doing catchup on the prior season stuff. No real explanation that I can appoint. Just don't care. When the enjoyable content is not the current content, I inevitably have to question what I'm doing with my life playing this game.
  16. I've been saying this for awhile. This is not the game you go to for raiding/instanced content. Go watch the recent RWF on WoW You go there for proper raiding. You play GW2 for open world events, because they're bespoke. No other game does what GW2 does with OW. Resources need to be taken out of lost causes and invested more in things like what they've been doing with Dragon's End. But then again, what's the difference? It all comes down to the group-finding system being abysmal anyway. Raiding, pvping, RPing, circle-jerking. It's all garbage if you can't find a group without losing your wits.
  17. Legendary accomplishments aside, why don't we just say what needs to be said? WvW is a trash game mode and is objectively why people fight against having to do it for things like this. A pipe dream that has aged/evolved poorly and exists only on the fumes of people sporting rose-tinted glasses. Doesn't matter what you need to do for GoB. The writing on the wall suggests a lot of people really do not like WvW. Just shove WvW into a corner of the game and let the masochists do their flagellation in isolation. Get it away from me.
  18. As long as Bladesworn exists, I can never accept that they scored thematically or have any credibility in ideating specs. Samurai? Yes! Wrong class, but yes. Samurai+Explosions. Wut? Samurai+Explosions+Replace a flexible 2H weapon you already possess with a new one you can't change, that stunts your mobility. Wut the actual F? Melee character that's sole utilities are to create projectile shields at range. I can't even... Lace everything with spammy ammo skills. Please God no. The dumbest thing ever imagined for a warrior. At the very least it should have went to an Engineer.
  19. Just get it over with, buy it, play it legitimately 2 weeks, then go back to old content like the rest of us. Then you can at least have a story to tell your grandkids that you've learned from your mistakes.
  20. More resources to re-release old content? Bring on the confused reactions because I am too.
  21. You could apply that logic to Cyberpunk 2077 too, or BF 2042. I'll let you ponder on that for a bit.
  22. I love my Willbender. I love it alot. It does good dps, it's smooth and intuitive, it's aesthetically pleasing. Just that the run-of-the-mill min/maxers, and commanders, and group leaders, and group members, the baddies that think they like boons, the clickers that don't know what boons are, and their dogs, and the particles that make up their being do not.
  23. Old maps. I've basically just abandoned EoD and just reversed to a month ago. Not even intentionally. lol, gud expanshun gaiz.
  24. I absolutely agree. It's very demotivating. It's ok to have timed metas, but the fact that almost all of them consume the entire map make versatility in non-meta events skewed. For a mediocre example: Death-branded Shatterer is Jahai's timed meta event, but it and it's pre-events only consume about 1/4 of the total map. The rest of the map is rife with other stuff to do even while the meta is going on. Kaineng on the other hand, when the meta is on, that's basically all you do. And if it's not on, you're just waiting for the meta (actually, I don't think people do the meta either...what do people do on this kitten map??!). There might be other things to do, but there's nothing that intuitively leads you to do them.
