  1. I'm not sure if anybody has mentioned it but there is a male NPC talking about his wedding (gay couple) near the heart by Soul's Vendetta Waypoint in Jahai. I hear him every time I complete the heart and every time I'm like "Oh, I wonder if he ever got to his wedding!?!" In regards to the main NPC's...I really hope they leave them single (other than Kas and Jory of course as that ship has sailed). They don't need to express preferences as it would be nice for them to be left open for any fan shipping players may have. Ship them all as gay. Ship them all as bi. Ship them all joining in on one giant cuddle puddle of love. Ship whoever you want with your player character. Ship whatever your heart's desire. The more official pairing off of characters the writers do, the less options there are for fan shipping. So for me, it's good that they leave things open.
  2. I'd rather the resources be spent providing more than one voice actor for each gender/race for cutscenes and everything so that we can have a choice in how we want our characters to sound. That's a pipe dream though, I know.
  3. Well, you could try the Norn female who sarcastically says "Poor thing..." when it dies. I can honestly just picture her shrugging her shoulders like OH WELL. 😅
  4. That's why I put it in quotes. It's not an easy mount that is just handed to you. Legendaries are not just handed to you. It was a comparison.
  5. The skyscale is considered to be a "legendary" mount. You get the raptor and bunny just by playing the main questline. Those are given to you with minimal/no effort. As has been stated in the past, the raptor and bunny can get you to most places you need to go without needing the skyscale. The skyscale is just a QoL improvement for people who put in the time to get it. Like I said...think of it like a leggy and it absolutely makes sense. I don't even remember the skyscale being difficult to get anyways. I would describe myself as a casual player (I don't raid. I don't do fractals. I can count on one hand -three fingers in fact- the # of legendary items I have.)...I was able to get the skyscale in only a few days (which translates to only a couple hours of actual gameplay a day) of achievement farming. And I really don't mind scavenger hunt achievements at all. And I see one of the biggest complaints about not having the ss is keeping up with the Drizzlewood crowd. Ya'll know you can parachute into claimed territories, right? That's how a lot of people seem to instantly appear where the next champ pops up. I couldn't even keep up on a skyscale and once I realized you could simply parachute in I felt like such a stunad. 😅
  6. You can craft stat-select gear too via Warbeast. Depending on your charged quartz situation, it can be the much cheaper option to craft. PS - I have a quartz node in my home instance that I farm every day and I can pretty much count on one hand the number of times it has dropped a charged quartz.
  7. I guess I must be showing my age in not knowing what a "gamer word" is, lol. I've never seen any racial slurs being dropped in chat, but I tend to not sit in hubs just chatting. The worst I've seen was someone being kitten over another person advertising a women-only guild as a safe-haven for girl gamers.
  8. I really only notice them in a couple spots...the cave system in Istan, Inquest labs in Sandswept, and the wall spot in (I think) Iron Marches. That last one sticks out because they are grouped in a heart area and can make it more annoying to finish the heart. It's annoying to see and can ruin screenshot potential, but I can't say it's ever hurt me as a player. If I happen to pull a vet over to them and just bounce, then oops my bad. 😉
  9. Nope. My main character, the one I've played through all story content with, is a Ranger. I've tried seven ways to Sunday to like Untamed. I can't. I tried Power Untamed. I tried Condi Untamed. I tried Hybrid Untamed with Celestial stats. I cannot like that class. It's not that I have problems with dps or survivability. I just hate playing it. Having control over pet skills is nice, but not nice enough for me to want to deal with the class mechanics or fart can visuals. Every time my Norn girl shouts "BREATHE IT IN!!!!" I just picture a giant fart. Like what is she doing, giving a 'dutch oven' to the mobs? I'm sorry, but no. I'm back to her Condi Druid build for difficult (solo) content with Sick'Em Soulbeast for farming and most meta events. So far the only EoD elite spec that interests me is the Harbinger simply for the aesthetic...but GS Power Reaper will always be my go-to for sustain with dps when it comes to Necro.
  10. Unfortunately, I'm poor in-game atm because I just finished paying for the end-crap from Aurora...so I need to build my gold back up first.
  11. There's always someone doing bounties in Istan, Sandswept, and Kourna...at least there is whenever I'm on the maps and that's a lot since I'm currently working on Vision. There's usually someone doing bounties in Jahai as well. All the bounty stuff I needed for Vision was done no prob. Right now my hurdle is farming meteorites... 😕 PoF maps? Those are hard to find bounty trains. But we don't need those for Vision.
  12. It's not about anything. I'm not the one that started this thread. How many times do I have to repeat myself that I'm not the one complaining about getting gear in this game...I'm just talking about how it compares to other games because someone else mentioned other games before I did. I'll say it again...I'm ok with getting stat-select gear in VB and/or crafting it. And I use builds that thankfully require cheaper sigils/runes (for the most part)(krait, pack, traveler, balthazar, etc).
  13. Yes, I have a bunch of stat-select achievement rewards sitting in my bank for when they are needed. It's not so much the gear itself that is expensive...it's the runes/sigils, depending on which ones you decide to use. Even crafting those things can be expensive. Thankfully I've started going with builds that use cheaper runes/sigils for the most part.
  14. It is a comparison when two out of three of the other games I mention literally reward you with the gear you need via story. In both, reputation gear is typically only needed/wanted for fashun wars and in-game currency either sits or gets spent on fashun. I'm not saying this game should do the same. I'm ok with having to do VB to get stat-select gear...or craft it. Maybe I should stop banking all my mats and just start selling everything only to buy stuff if/when I need it later.
  15. How can I not be serious? If I craft all the gear I need rather than selling my mats to buy it...and then I play the game for story rather than just farming gold, how is it a surprise that I'm not rolling in dough? Remember, I'm not the one complaining about getting gear...I gear my characters just fine either way.
  16. I've already stated that I don't sell my mats because I need them for crafting. I don't buy gear...I craft it.
  17. Awesome for you? I craft and I just finished another legendary which is a gold sink and a half. So no, I have no in-game gold.
  18. My argument still stands that obtaining gear in games like ESO, SWTOR, and LoTRO is easier (and cheaper). With ESO the set I've been using (good lord don't make me log in to double-check what it is...the build is a stamina warden based on one of the meta build sites) was super easy to obtain. I had enough in-game currency to buy it from the auction house. Done. I don't even know why I bothered leveling a crafter because I'm not using anything she's ever crafted, lol. I have one CP 600ish character because frankly, I don't enjoy the game regardless of how beautiful it is. The story is not engaging enough to keep me interested...though for some odd reason I continue giving them money in the form of buying every expansion. I really need to stop doing that, lol. With LoTRO, top-end gear is easy to come by through quest rewards or reputation vendors. Crafting becomes quite useless before you even hit max level. SWTOR is another game where gear is quite literally given to you and you don't have to bend over backwards to get it. And again, I'm not complaining about getting gear in this game. I'm just saying that it's easier to gear end-game characters in the other games I've played, especially with LoTRO and SWTOR, because you don't have to grind for it.
  19. I'm a crafter, so no I don't clean out my material bank. I only start selling mats unless I've hit the point of the bank being full (so two stacks of 250 each).
  20. You don't need nearly as many different gear sets with the other games I've played (and I already said that's ESO, SWTOR, and LoTRO). One set each character...that's pretty much all you need unless you are a raider and I've already stated that I'm not a raider. But with this game I have at least two full sets per character depending on the content I'm doing. With SWTOR I have something like 3.5mil credits sitting around and nothing to spend them on. And yes, I am an alt-aholic no matter what game I play. Again, I'm not complaining about not being able to obtain gear in this game. I gear my characters just fine, even if that means having to buy gems to convert to gold. I'm just saying that gear in the other three big MMO's I've played is way easier (and cheaper) to come by.
  21. I'm not complaining about the cost of gear. I manage to gear my characters just fine. I'm just stating that I've never been as poor in any other game as I am with this one.
  22. ESO...last I checked, purple gear is one step under the top tier...and the top tier is yellow. It goes green, blue, purple, yellow. Therefore purple would be the equivalent of exotic. I'm able to do everything I want to the point of boredom from the game being too easy for words...short of raiding and veteran group dungeons...because I'm not into group content. My main character...the only one I've been able to stick with long enough to level to CP 600ish...is a stamina warden. And with this game...no I can't sit here and farm gold. I do the quick daily to get 2g and then I'll do the LW3 or LW4 daily if I really need karma. I don't have time to farm gold til the cows come home. I play the game for story and achievements are secondary when there is no story left to play. Last night I spent time leveling a brand new character from scratch because I wanted her to enjoy the story rather than just level-boosting, so there's definitely no gold gain there. Everybody plays for different reasons. Don't assume I'm doing something wrong. Man.
  23. There are plenty of other MMO's where gear is even cheaper and/or easier to obtain. ESO, SWTOR, and LoTRO come to mind. With ESO, once you hit CP 160 that's it for gear...and there's no need to ever find other gear unless you want to change your stat sets. I've been using the same purple gear for at least a year and the only step left is that game's version of legendary gear (yellow) which you don't even need because the game is so face-roll easy you could practically run around naked without worry (unless you're into raiding which I'm not). With LoTRO, once you get to end-game, crafting becomes pretty much useless and the only gear you use is stuff you get through reputation vendors or as quest rewards and you slot stat enhancement facets to it. So basically...you stick with the same gear forever once you hit end-game. With SWTOR it's the same thing. You get your end-game quest reward or reputation gear and then just slot stuff into it. SWTOR is just as much about fashion wars as GW2 is. And your gear is never destroyed with those games (ESO, SWTOR, LoTRO) if you don't repair it. It just becomes useless until you do repair it. But with all the MMO's I've ever played, I've never been as poor in-game as I am with GW2. Other games? I only need and use a single gear set. This game? I have at least two sets per character...and some characters I have even more than that. I have like four that I use for my ranger, all dependent upon the spec I have selected and the content I'm doing. The gear struggle in this game is real.
  24. Thanks for the tips! I think I've only unlocked 3/5 of the multitool skills. I'm super poor atm in-game and I'm trying really hard not to just buy gems to convert to gold like I always do. I don't have the dedication to farm gold.
