Issues and Mistakes tend to happen, for me it works fine, forcing the window mode. Make a Shortcut of your GW2.exe and right-click and go into properties. After that just add -windowed to Target. Looks something like this "E:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2-64.exe" -windowed. You can maximize in game again. Hope that works for you for now.
