  1. You are actually addressing these facerolling idiots who think 1 button play is *GOOD* for the game. Sadly all you will get is spammed by "confused" tags. Not only does this effect others in organized play, but people who join GW2 will play mechanist at the recommendation of others, assume that this "OP" class is all the game offers and quit when they realize a toddler could play the entire game without seeing any depth. I appreciate the difficulty of having a low intensity class in the game for those who are mentally or physically incapable of using other builds - and trying to balance the LI builds to not appeal to the purely lazy, this is clearly an ongoing challenge that mechanical genius didn't address fully.
  2. This change is totally mind boggling - sword isn't competitive with hammer on ease of use or damage - yet they nerf it hard. I see the other skills cds reduced by default, but it still makes it worse off, even with coefficient increased we will see a worse flow and lower damage.
  3. The insane thing is that while Portuguese Brazilian is a tiny language where there would be a issue making a business case to professionally translate; they ALREADY have Chinese (an enormous population and market) translated for the game, but have disabled to toggle to the option for some reason. If they won't do the task themselves, Why not open the localization files (at least the textual ones) and let communities do their own translations - many games at least expose them in some form.
  4. wingman, a resource that aggregates arc logs still shows them 3-4 times that of *whole class* populations. I agree its far better now, at 15% of the entire population to the 33% it was back a few months.
  5. Fun in your book was pressing gyros on cooldown?
  6. I'm game for mechanists to be running hammer. It brings them into melee where they are designed to be and its less "press 1, get bacon" brain dead, like rifle. They might amplify mechanical genius's debuff with any luck when there are additional options - all this leads to LESS mechanists over time - more balanced population.
  7. Completely agree, its more than fine, its effective and far more interesting than gyro spam was - This is mostly mechanists looking to pollute the rest of the profession into the snorefest they just abandoned with the recent mechanical genius changes.
  8. I love the new playstyle for quickness - its active, requires a moment of consideration and not mindless-spammy. Can you weekend warrior mechanists-turned-scrappers just reroll to an easier profession please? The louder voices here probably run 4 signets most of the time.
  9. Re rolling might be a good idea if you don't enjoy the new playstyle, and if you can bring a few hundred mechanists with you too, it would be appreciated by the long term engineer crowd, the class is getting very crowded. Personally I love the new quick rotation (not the kitten leap one in this video - that indeed looks unfun) - It can be very easy to keep quick and do decent damage with the changes, but I guess people are looking for hand-holding builds as inactive as tri-gyro was. My hammer build consists of Mines (x2), Thumper and 'nades and heal turret make for a fun blast heavy build that doesn't rely on skills throwing you across the boss arena.
  10. I know right!?! Anet really dropped the ball by making the personal story without considering holosmith's core mechanic and its interaction with their "talking heads" cinematics every few seconds. Its almost as if they didn't even THINK about holosmith before making personal story, like it didn't even *exist* at the time of development - the shame!!! (Context for those who are confused: Holosmith was an elite spec introduced in path of fire - literally years after personal story was made - future content used more active play storytelling where this issue rarely occurs)
  11. This engineer forum is currently filled with tri-signet jokes who *just* started engineer on easy mode and still can't handle it - Why the surprise that many people can't stand them still crying. Stay close to part of your build putting in the effort (the bot) and deal with the mechanic your chosen build has - MG isn't some sort of accident. This is like a holo complaining that they can overheat or a daredevil that it has to dodge - its ridiculous to those of us who have been on engineer for the better part of the decade dealing with "piano condi" and the real issues over that time. Rifle got redesigned and subsequently nerfed due to mechanist overuse, I have no idea why they are so "confused" still - once a targeted fix is successful it will be tweaked back up for the rest of us.
  12. We already have pistol to fill that role, I'd prefer ideally a support weapon, hopefully at medium range or it will be rifle mechanist 2: idiot bugaboo. The population is still complaining about a feature specifically made to change player behavior. I'm predicting all the brand new weapons will be support related - allowing them to move quick/alac off elite specs and into weapon choices instead (akin to spirits/banners granting buffs). If we get another condi style, I would far prefer a elixir gun kit rework than a electric version of ranger shortbow. Rant: Amplify Mechanical Genius until mechanist is back to sane proportion the population, triple the cooldown penalty for maxrange and spell it out for these thickheaded engineers.
  13. Did you test to see if it was indeed a tooltip bug or a gameplay one? does it grant quick? Do it for science!
  14. A year or two from now when mech has left the top % of all players I would love to see cosmetic changes to mech - but I think if they released them now on the gemstore it might bring more players to the already heavily bloated mech player base, not a goal of anet.
  15. I thought exactly this when I saw how much quickness I could put out with no BD. Scrapper isn't a powerhouse and personally I don't like the idea of punishing players for just bringing buffs to the group - boon duration like you say could allow for a balancing mechanism for builds that do too much damage, making players self-adjust when the spec is an outlier. I think the goal is that your rotation should have the side effect of doing quickness while you fight - I know that after an adjustment period for my build I was getting to the point where I am just dpsing - not thinking about the quickness uptime the way I used to with gyros which I definitely was using "just for quickness" and not for their combat effects. This way I feel the change was a great success - minus leaps of course.
  16. It doesn't feel like "spamming skills" like before where you just spammed the gyros, I feel more engaged having to consider which field is down, for how much longer, and what blasts and when to execute them to provide the quickness without overcapping. In most group fights the fields are going down regularly, but its still a reactive thing rather than a same-y watch for cooldown of gyros and press them. Despite not needing them to quick effectively - Leaps are overall annoying as hell and need to be looked at - throwing yourself off the boss platform isn't good uptime 😛
  17. Jadebot babysitter spec has gotten the *new* engineers into believing the class needs to be 1 button spam. I'm with you on saying I'd gladly play a more engaging spec like new qscrapper for the huge gains in quick application and dps. I love this change.
  18. Its still broken or it wouldn't be the single most popular *build* in the game still; dwarfing whole classes combined. If anything, increase its bite.
  19. I disagree with it being worse - but then again I deliberately avoid leap finishers so the stationary problem doesn't effect me. Having the granted time higher or interaction doesn't feel needed imo, not that I would mind it giving me more than 25s to mess around between doing my quick rot.
  20. I don't know if it helps anyone but I wrote about my experiences getting guildwars 2 to nigh-native performance (1440p running 45-60 cap in metas on old hardware), at least in my case - I posed my experience in the guides forum. Its probably super simple for most of you, but I dunno if it could help anyone else out with the struggle or isolate the cause on your distro/setup.
  21. Join us in linux gw2, there are literally dozens of us I found out 😛 - and no weird graphics.
  22. Even a actual "pet leash" would work here, an option to tell bot, if you leave "medium range" stop what you are doing and come back to me IMMEDIATELY - its "dps" would be lost for a second while reacquiring target after return, but cool-downs wouldn't be an issue for midrange players.
  23. A reasonable post, I think everyone on all sides of the MG topic agree: the bot AI is abysmal and should be fixed to not incur a penalty with no fault of the owner - I know rangers wouldn't mind a pass on pet AI either 🙂
  24. That's the confusion in these threads, "They want me to play this way!" in the same breath as "Why are they punishing me when I play this way" - pointing it out gives no actual factual rebuttal just low effort (reoccurring theme with mechanist players) personal attacks. The entire thing would be entertaining if it didn't have such a large effect on group diversity which these short term thinking kiddos don't understand has a negative effect on the long term stability of the game - slight imbalances get fixed over time, divisions this big (15-33% of all players on one class) have killed games entirely. It has nothing to do "ranged/melee/support and damage" in one build (with a few specialist exceptions this is true for all) - its how effective it is for the least amount of work/risk that makes it so overused - steps to counter this are bound to make some people unhappy.
  25. Thats an interpretation, but kind of goes for all engineer - we have options. In the line quoted they speak of a range of roles and adaption to situations - but not all the benefits at once. Mecha is currently known as being a ranged LI high damage build which is kind of what got delivered instead of making meaningful choices and sacrifices to go BETWEEN range/melee support/damage. This (worsening each patch) leash makes no sense from design perspective, unless they are using it to temporary mitigate this problem, otherwise we wouldn't have the bulk of the population (~15%+! source: wingman) babysitting mechs instead of playing other builds/classes.
