People who go this route need to be aware that the WvW vendor will unlock HPs in Silverwastes (and possibly Dry Top) which are not part of the Map Completion of Central Tyria.

I agree with this. It's very noticeable with the change how players used to converge on a Map, World Boss, Jump Puzzle, etc. to complete their Dailies together. That's absent now.

I don't think what you are seeing are "bots". Most likely it's just high level players in low level Maps who do way more DPS than you do. I've got 10.7k hours in the game and, honestly, bots haven't been a thing in about 10 years - and even then it was only in a few spawn points in a few maps.

This. I'm a player since day-one. 10.6k hours. And yet... ...I haven't used a credit card to buy anything (other than the expansions) since probably 2013? I don't even know how Anet makes money off me. I've maybe spent $200 since 2012. I don't like EoD, but I don't care about the money I spent. $30 is lunch money to me. Raiding and/or platform gaming, in general, has never appealed to me. "Stand in circle 'A' and do 'X'. Then move to circle 'B' and do 'Y'. Ad nauseum. Rinse and repeat. But the real question would seem to be, How many long hardcore, "Raiders" actually spend money in the game? Most of them probably - like me - have thousands of gold (and ascended mats that can be converted to gold at any time) in the bank from just playing the game. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. How far down the path they go to Raid Nirvana. I will say that the best thing about EoD is that, if I don't do it to completion, I'll miss exactly nothing.

Lordy you read a lot into my one sentence. I've been playing since day one (10.6k hours) and maybe didn't log in 100 days total. And I probably haven't spent $200 on this game. I've more than gotten my money's worth, and I don't begrudge paying for this expansion either. Anet has more than earned my money. And I didn't preorder. I'm truly only on the forums to try and learn about the expansion. Nothing so far has drawn me into it. HoT and PoF introduced quality-of-life mounts and gliding and the game play was pretty straight forward. It just appears that this expansion is not for me.

I was unaware of this when I bought EoD.

One of my Toons had equipped a Dire Ascended Torch, and the stats need to be reset. However, I can only choose from Sentinel, Vigilant and Sinister. This by itself is not so bad. I have a Dire Inscription and can just throw the Torch in the Mystic Toilet and reset. However, it is annoying that I also have a Superior Sigil of Bursting which will most likely get destroyed in the Mystic reset (the current price for Bursting on TP is about 5g 50s). As a long time player, I have plenty of gold, so I'm just more annoyed than anything. Am I missing something?
